Yesterday, I did 9,000 steps. Very happy about that. Found out it does not hurt my knees and hip if I walk on flat ground rather than all these hills around my house. Only problem, I hate to have to get the car out to go walk someplace!!!
The cookie and sweet issue is a big one. Analyzing my food log, I see that there is a 100 calorie difference between using grams to weigh a peanut butter cookie, versus using the term "one 3 inch cooky"
I enjoy looking at the nutritional info at the end of the day, what is it called, "are you finished tracking for the day?" -- I am slowly coming to the realization that there is no way to get the proper nutrition with the proper calories if a person eats sweets.
The best plan is not to have them in the house at all, and if the craving comes, have a graham cracker with jam. That would satisfy the craving, but I do not think I would go hog wild the way I did with the peanut butter cookies. The recipe was from Cooks Illustrated (the Test Kitchen people) and they were simply incredible, with real peanuts in them. I do like to cook, but I need to have a family to eat up things like cookies!!!
I am pleased that I have kept up the food journal the way I have. Today I will be gone from home all day, so I might be able to do it or I might not.
