Does anyone know if there is something for sure that can slow down arthritis? Mine is just getting worse and worse, and I am really scared. It is in my hands, my toes, my knees of course. Advil does relieve the pain. It really started a few years ago when I noticed a finger getting crooked. I asked my doctor and she said, nothing can be done. I do not want any quack stuff, but I wonder if things like coffee every day make it worse? I just wonder. I know I can go to the arthritis websites, but some of them are just to sell stuff, and others are people who have pretty far out beliefs about foods and supplements. I know people move to Arizona for their arthritis, but I am not able to do that!!!!

Yesterday had only 1800 calories which is a big deal for me, as I usually have 2200.
The secret is sushi and edamame and tea. i went out to dinner with friends and this is what they had. (skinny friends) Wow, do your peers influence you or what? If I ate like this all the time, with them, I would be my target weight.
Normally, I have wine or beer and that really adds the calories up. But no way would I order wine when they were ordering tea.
I was starved still after the first sushi, and so were they, so we ordered more, but really what was it? some fish and rice??? very low calorie.
I also went for another four mile walk. I had a goal, which was to meet these friends for a lecture on the Maharaja exhibit at the museum. I like walking with a goal and now I am looking for things to do. To tell you the truth I was not that interested in the lecture. It is very hard for me to sit for any period of time on folding chairs in drafty auditoriums!!! The only reason I went was to have a goal for walking!!! But it did turn out to be interesting. I found out Lord Mountbatten's wife was having an affair with Nehru back in 1947 and the whole Britain and India thing blew out of the water. Fascinating.

I am on a streak recording my food intake, but every evening I am shocked at how low the calcium and fiber is. Duh...........I did not realize I can check it right there on the food tracker page at any time of the day.
So, my goal is to check it during the day, and make modifications accordingly, like drink a glass of nonfat milk, or eat an apple.

Another beautiful day here!!! I walked four miles yesterday. I keep looking for reasons to walk. First, I needed some wire mesh for my garden, so I walked to the hardware store and back (2 miles) Then my fiance invited me for dinner, so I walked to his place (2 miles one way) After dinner, he was curious about 3 d movies, so we went to see Puss in Boots. It was really entertaining and fun. We were the only people in the theater!!! Of course, it is a kids movie, and it was a school night, and we are both retired. I hope the movie does well financially.
The creativity involved in making it was striking. But do kids even know the nursery rhymes anymore? Even though it was a kids movie, it was really fun to see as an adult.

Well after doing so well by tossing out the chocolate covered coffee beans, I blew it by drinking two beers in the backyard. It was just such gorgeous weather, and I was so wiped out from running up and down stairs cleaning out my subbasement that I felt I needed a respite. I do not know how one half a beer became a whole beer, and then what the hell, open another one but plan to drink half, but then it just disappeared. Did some mice come and sip it????
I love to sit in my tiny postage stamp garden and survey my flowery handiwork while sipping artisan beer. I don't know why. But I love doing this. Lemonade does not cut it for me, although I have also done that. (calories are the same, unfortunately) I do not like artificial sweeteners. I do like cold water with lemon in it, though, so that could be a good substitute. (maybe)
