Puss in Boots

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Another beautiful day here!!! I walked four miles yesterday. I keep looking for reasons to walk. First, I needed some wire mesh for my garden, so I walked to the hardware store and back (2 miles) Then my fiance invited me for dinner, so I walked to his place (2 miles one way) After dinner, he was curious about 3 d movies, so we went to see Puss in Boots. It was really entertaining and fun. We were the only people in the theater!!! Of course, it is a kids movie, and it was a school night, and we are both retired. I hope the movie does well financially.

The creativity involved in making it was striking. But do kids even know the nursery rhymes anymore? Even though it was a kids movie, it was really fun to see as an adult.

I love kids' movies, especially the Pixar ones. They always have an inside meaning for the older folks. Cars especially......I loved that movie!

Glad you enjoyed Puss & Boots. Have a good emoticon

17 degrees here this morning. I envy your walk!

I LOVE the Shrek and Puss characters. I will go see it, even though my grandkids don't want to (they are TOO OLD...teenagers).

Ups and Downs

Monday, November 14, 2011

Well after doing so well by tossing out the chocolate covered coffee beans, I blew it by drinking two beers in the backyard. It was just such gorgeous weather, and I was so wiped out from running up and down stairs cleaning out my subbasement that I felt I needed a respite. I do not know how one half a beer became a whole beer, and then what the hell, open another one but plan to drink half, but then it just disappeared. Did some mice come and sip it????

I love to sit in my tiny postage stamp garden and survey my flowery handiwork while sipping artisan beer. I don't know why. But I love doing this. Lemonade does not cut it for me, although I have also done that. (calories are the same, unfortunately) I do not like artificial sweeteners. I do like cold water with lemon in it, though, so that could be a good substitute. (maybe)

Little Successes

Sunday, November 13, 2011

Need a spot to record successes, and then review them for motivation.

1. Last night only half a beer.
2. Just now started to mindlessly eat chocolate covered coffee beans discovered in snack drawer, then I was actually cleaning while eating these and started choking on them and realized, how stupid it was. Threw rest of the bag out. Big success there!!

Nice! I had someone anonymously buy me a brownie last night while playing and singing in a coffee shop (along with a chai tea). My success lies in only eating a little slice of it last night. throwing out the sweet tea before leaving, and giving little slices of the remaining brownie to my kids today.

It was a nice feeling to look at my little secret surprise the baristas gave to me, and to know that what I really was excited about was the sweet note that came with it, not the chocolate :)

Oops, want to report a big success yesterday. Had only half a beer with my Mexican dinner (homemade, very healthy) Usually guzzle down two of them.

Good for you - was it a light beer - doesn't really matter - you are making a change!

Mind Blank Right Now

Sunday, November 13, 2011

My mind is blank right now!!! I feel I am progressing on my projects of cleaning the basement, maintaining the garden, and clearing out extraneous items from my computer room. Also, I have consistently walked 2-3 miles every day for a week.
