Yesterday was first day back to Spark; checked my nutrition tracker this morning and for the first time, I met all of the goals yesterday. Very unusual for me. Besides all the regular things, I track the fiber, the potassium, calcium, vitamin D, etc.Spark makes it so easy to do!!
Simple Goals for today:
1. Keep to calorie limits.
2. Walk one hour.
3. Start strength training.
4. Keep up with papers in computer room.
5. Keep checking back with Spark
6. Compute calories BEFORE you eat the stuff!!!

Drove five hours, by myself, to get home, but it wasn't too bad. The trip was really fantastic, saw three wonderful plays in Ashland, Oregon. Had lots of fun girl-chat with my friend who I only see once or twice a year. (so lots to talk about, even though we email) She just had knee surgery and she is overweight and I hate to say it, she looks terrible. I feel so bad, but it is an object lesson to me to get back to my Spark program. We ate together the entire time, and really she does not eat that much, but you know, once your knees go and you cannot move around very quickly, well, it is so, so hard to lose weight. I want to lose it before I get to that point. I can still walk fairly quickly, but my knees are bad too.
So, I want to get back in the Spark Saddle. (ps I am sure with my vacation type eating, I gained the weight back that I lost and I refuse to even weigh myself until I have been on Spark another week, I will be too discouraged!)

Last Day for my blog for awhile. Will be gone until August 7. Will probably have some time to check in with Spark on my ipad, although maybe best to take a total vacation from it and everything. For sure, I am not going to read any newspapers. I just cannot stand the news, it is so upsetting. Every parent wants their child to do better than themselves. My grandparents came to America for a better life for their children. My mom had a better life than they did. I have had a better life than my parents, but now my kids are just not doing well. My daughter's husband has no job, I see the environment being destroyed for my grandchildren. Will they be able to visit the beautiful places I have? California is closing many of the parks that I love to go to, parks I took my children to, yet there seems plenty of money for certain people to have five houses, six cars, and the like. It is all very sad to me, and I am going to take a break from all of it. I am grateful I do not live in some of those awful places around the world where children ruin their eyes sewing carpets, women are possessions, and people are starving. Still, even though we have it better here than most of the world, it is sad to see my own country going downhill.

I am doing well on my trip preparations. Just have to pay bills and sort my papers (ugh), decide what to take, and I will be done.
Got some huge, delicious cherries at the market. They are great for snacking. I highly recommend!!!
