Computer Lesson

I am going for a computer lesson at Apple at 8 am, so I cannot do my walk this morning. I have been consistent about checking in with Spark every day, so that is a plus. The calories are still way too high, but at least I am confronting the issue. I will do my walk when I get back, although that may be hard to pull off.

    One of my step daughters has an apple and she LOVES it....never has issues with viruses and pop-ups and all that other junk.

    Being AWARE of what is going on is half the battle. You will get the walk in (but it is good to keep the MIND active by learning new things as well).

Disappointed that I had too many calories yesterday. Boy, do they add up fast, fast, fast. It is actually hard to believe!!! Okay, so my goal for today is 300 for breakfast, 300 for lunch, 100 snack, and the dinner could be 1000 or even 1100. If I could just stay at 1800 consistently, I know I would lose weight. Let's face it, we are not talking about a huge deprivation. Yet, it is so hard, the minute a person is not thinking, 100 calorie snack here, a 200 calorie bite there, a 150 calorie drink here.......

I am disappointed because yesterday I was really paying close attention to what I was eating. Or I thought I was........

    The good news is today is a new day! I realized that it takes a lot longer to "begin" the weightloss process than I thought. It's not the first day, it's the first year (or more) of learning, many times by making mistakes. I make multiple mistakes everyday and although I don't learn from every mistake I make every day, I learn at least one thing every day. Big or small, it doesn't matter. I am learning and sometimes I am relearning. YOU ARE AN AMAZING HUMAN BEING!!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! (the best part is, you are not alone on your journey!)

I just discovered how I can search my favorites. I can type in "coffee" and all my favorites that have that word in it come up. I am amazed. This makes doing the food journal so much more efficient. I tried it for "milk" same thing. I did not realize I could do this until I read the spark article about the changes. Each day there is one new thing I learn. It is fun!

Just got the report that I have osteoporosis. However, I do not exactly know what the numbers mean. How bad is it? do I have a little osteo? a lot osteo? what percent of women my age have the same amount of bone loss? My mother has broken just about every bone in her body, starting at my age. Do not want this to happen to me. The weight bearing exercise is supposed to help, and I noticed these morning walks seem to really help my sleep. So, I will just do Spark for a few more minutes and then get out there!! It is another beautiful day.

Also, the doctor told me to lose weight. ha ha

    Ha - that's doctors' favorite punch line - "Losing weight would help." Sigh. I do think weight bearing exercise is key. Did he have you on any medication for it? My mil takes Flosamax once a month (or something like that), exercises daily, and it has really helped her.

I have Osteoporopedia. I'm not sure that's how it's spelled. It's the step before Osteoporisis. I have a bone density test every year. That will tell you your range.
The doctor told me to walk 5 or 6 miles a week and to eat healthy. I think we are trying to do that.
The exercises will help. I need to do more with weights. It's just much easier to do the other.

A New Day

Today is a beautiful new day!!! I am pleased that I have incorporated the Spark Habit into my morning routine. I now go to Spark first, before reading email, as I have my morning cup of coffee. It is a good way to start the day.

    Carol, I agree completely! Missed spark when daughter was in hopsital. It felt like coming home when I started my Spark routine up again.
