LOST 2 LBS.

Monday, March 14, 2011

Well, I lost 2 lbs. How? by eating whatever really appealed to me!!! Because I was sick with a bad virus, I could not eat very much. So, it is all about portion control. ha ha

If I craved a brownie, I ate a brownie. (but only one) If I craved whole milk, I drank whole milk (but it ran out and I could not get more) If I was bored and made chocolate chip cookies, I made them (but eating the dough did not have the appeal it usually does, and I was too tired to cook the entire batch, so froze the dough)

Also, I had no alcohol, did not eat out, did not exercise, have just been home all week. Yet I lost 2 lbs.

Also I was alone all week. No one wanted to catch what I got. When you eat with other people, you always eat more!!!

This is not the best way to lose weight. Now, the trick will be to keep it off when I go back to my regular lifestyle.

Not a fun way to lose pounds, but even the nasty bugs have an up side, hum?

Friday 3/11/11 Stop When You Have Had Enough

Friday, March 11, 2011

Where did the week go? I see I blogged on Monday, and now it is Friday already. I got a really bad virus, and I am just eating comfort foods, sort of like snacking all day long. Today I am going to do Spark once more.

I have this sinus pain and feel overwhelmingly tired, not even well enough to go to the mailbox!!

I know the source of this. I overdid things on Sunday. I got totally over-tired. Those viruses are all around us, and if we pace ourselves, we are less likely to get them. But my resistance was down and it got me.

Lesson Learned: stop when you know you have had enough. Applies to eating as well as activities.

Monday Morning Again

Monday, March 07, 2011

Another Monday morning; another new start. I love starting over!!!

Wore the wrong shoes yesterday for a shopping trip, and now not sure if I will be able to go for my walk. I feel wiped out and it is only 6:30 am. Slept all night, though.

Feel like I have got a good breakfast habit nailed down. (except for today, just ate a brownie) One habit at a time!!! That could be a mantra. We are changing habits here.

I still cannot seem to go under eating 2000 to 2200 calories a day. At least I am recording all my foods. According to the nutrition tracker many days I am "under" for things like protein, fiber, vitamin C, D, B12. I should review my trackers one of these days.

It's difficult to cut some of those calories, but it sounds like you are off to a great start. My tracker always says I'm low on protein, fiber, etc. I'm trying to improve also.

Sunday --TrackerDiscovery

Sunday, March 06, 2011

Just figured out how to do the spark exercise tracker. Very excited to learn something new. I put my laptop in the living room where I have room, and I watched the exercise video and then did two exercises. Not much, but a start with a new routine.

Still not sure how to add my own ball exercises that I really like.

Help with fitness tracker

Friday, March 04, 2011

I did a great walk yesterday, inspired by Spark's little map. It was so much fun to trace my route. I still do not exactly understand how to use the fitness tracker. I need some hints. For example, I wanted to put some exercise ball workouts in it, and I searched yesterday and found several, but now today they have disappeared. Well, it took my a very long time to learn the nutrition tracker, all the ins and outs of it. So, this is probably the same. The "help" button does not help that much.

Also, I put down 10,000 steps as a goal, but when I try to enter this number as having been done, an error message comes up. I can enter 9000. Must be in the program.

You can track all your fitness on your own, by changing your settings. For example ST. You can set it to have sparkpeople design a workout for you or you can set it to do it yourself. If sparkpeople does it, you just check the box when done. If you do it yourself, then you just click on "track strength exercises". You can then pick from a list of exercises. For cardio, just the same. Click on "add cardio" if putting it in on your own. There you can type in what you did to find it.

Good luck. It all just takes time to get used to.
