Just figured out how to do the spark exercise tracker. Very excited to learn something new. I put my laptop in the living room where I have room, and I watched the exercise video and then did two exercises. Not much, but a start with a new routine.

Still not sure how to add my own ball exercises that I really like.

Help with fitness tracker

Friday, March 04, 2011

I did a great walk yesterday, inspired by Spark's little map. It was so much fun to trace my route. I still do not exactly understand how to use the fitness tracker. I need some hints. For example, I wanted to put some exercise ball workouts in it, and I searched yesterday and found several, but now today they have disappeared. Well, it took my a very long time to learn the nutrition tracker, all the ins and outs of it. So, this is probably the same. The "help" button does not help that much.

Also, I put down 10,000 steps as a goal, but when I try to enter this number as having been done, an error message comes up. I can enter 9000. Must be in the program.

You can track all your fitness on your own, by changing your settings. For example ST. You can set it to have sparkpeople design a workout for you or you can set it to do it yourself. If sparkpeople does it, you just check the box when done. If you do it yourself, then you just click on "track strength exercises". You can then pick from a list of exercises. For cardio, just the same. Click on "add cardio" if putting it in on your own. There you can type in what you did to find it.

Good luck. It all just takes time to get used to.

I just discovered Spark's fitness tracker, and it is amazing. I was able to use this little map to create a walking route for myself. Then Spark calculated the calories burned. Just amazing to me. Also, I was able to find exercises with the fitness ball that I like and add them to the tracker. Spark is so well organized, it is like they think of everything!!!

Spark Points and Scotland

Wednesday, March 02, 2011

Just discovered the Spark points game, and as a teacher, of course, I always used points, so the format is familiar to me. We need all the motivation we can get!!! I read the article on comfort foods because of the points, and now I want to print it as a reminder. I bought Irish oatmeal and am making it for breakfast. I recall having the most wonderful porridge at a bed and breakfast in Scotland. McCanns steel cut oats is about as close to it as I can get. Speaking of Scotland, I love the Bertie books by Alexander McCall Smith.

A Week From Tuesday

Tuesday, March 01, 2011

Have not done a blog for a week and did not even realize I got "points" for doing it!! Well, I always liked writing in diaries since I was ten years old, so this is easy for me. What is not easy is drinking all that water. The reality is I actually feel just better, when I do it.
