# 12/2/10 Non fat half and half

At first these words seemed like a non sequitor or is the term" oxymoron". I mean how could half and half be nonfat? And would it taste any good?

1/2 cup is 10 Tablespoons, 2 T are 20 calories, so half a cup is 100 calories, hard core math here. I used half a cup. But I could have had an entire cup of nonfat milk for 90 calories and really the taste was not like real half and half.

I don't really "get" how they make it. Does anyone know?

How can a person eat only 1200 to 1800 calories and not be hungry? We have a neighborhood bakery that makes delicious bread items. Yesterday, for lunch, I ate a cheddar cheese and onion baguette that I had intended to be shared at dinner. I was starving by 3pm.

Spark is changing my habits; I am weighing more things, measuring more often. I bought another one of those baguettes since it was gone for dinner, and I weighed it. 7 ounces, which is 600-700 calories!!!

If I had eaten those calories in a different way, I do not think I would have been starving by the afternoon. Food is not just about calories, I can see that.

Doing this blog is making me have focus. I cannot believe I have actually done it 3 days in a row!!

If you had "spent" those 600 calories on an apple, some cheese, maybe some yogurt (well under 600 calories, too!), you would have been satisfied and full until your next 100-cal snack, then dinner.Hang in there - sounds like you are really headed in the right direction! This morning I checked the calories for what I had planned for breakfast FIRST, then I cut it in half. Put other half in refrigerator. Was very hungry last night. Realized cannot go to bed hungry, cannot sleep. So, contrary to popular opinion, will have to save most calories for a regular dinner in the evening. Goal is 350 calories for breakfast and 350 calories for lunch.

# 450 Calories for breakfast- 11/29/10

I vowed to record the calories first. I did not do this and discovered more calories than expected. I had a healthy breakfast, but it was 450. Maybe this is okay, maybe it isn't. My goodness, the vigilance needed is over the top. Maybe doing a blog will help. We will see.
