Getting back on track!

First and foremost I have to thank all my Spark Friends emoticon that have offered a kind word in regards to my needing motivation. I should have posted a blog earlier because that was just the P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens). emoticonThat definitely worked!! I have been working out at least 2-3 days a week. My eating could be better but at least everything is coming together as I needed them to emoticon. I have seen small changes on the scale emoticonin a short period of time. From 180lbs on friday to 177lbs as of this morning!!

Ok Spark Friends!! I am finding myself back in another funk again about my weight. I weighed this morning to find that I am at 180 lbs and I have not been this heavy since 2000 or 2001. This is getting out of control!!! My workouts have never been this nonexistent(yes I said it) nonexistent and I am at a loss to understand why. I use to love to workout, jog, sweat and endure rigorous workouts. Even if I come up with something, it just seems like an excuse!! I'm so not feeling myself right now(that's very unusual)!! HELP!!! I just need to lose 20lb for starters. HELP!!

    You can do it!!!! Don't give up... just think about it like this. If you don't do it now... you may end up having to lose twice as much later on. That is what I say to myself everyday single day because I would rather lose 17 lbs instead of starting at my goal weight again which is 185 if I stop stop eating healthy and working out! I was were where you are and I know exactly how you feel!!!! Remember... we only have one body so we should make this one the way we want it so we can be happy everyday and love the way we look instead of feeling uncomfortable when we look in the mirror!! You got this.... WE got this!!!!

    Let me share my story with you: I have been heavy for the last 18 years. Every years I go on an diet and so on. Last year I decide that I wanted to be healthy (mindset). I slow start changing things in my diet along with my portion size. I research and research for about two month all the different diet and eating plans. So I took I have learn and made my own plan. Last year I lost 15pds in two months then found out I was pregnant with twins.

A year later I am taking it one day at a time...I slowly went back to my eating habits and I use going to the gym as me time to myself and to relax myslef. I stop saying I want to lose weight now I say I want to be healthy. I do allow myself 2 days a week that I eat anything I want but nothing really bad. Just as long as it is sugarfree.     Im here for you and my workouts have been non existent but i continue to weigh myself weekly and dont lose determination to get back on a workout plan and nutrition plan....

lets start small im with you. lets set a small goal and see how that works out. hit me up on my page with the goal and we will go from there.

    I have a couple lines of thought about your delema.
The first line we could use the "Location, location, location" approach.
Instead of you usual workout places, try going to someplace different. Sub-consciously you might be bored with your current routine.
Examples of which;
If you live near Herman Park to exercise, go to the San Jacinto Monument instead for your workout session(s).
Go to Galveston. Ride a bike along the seawall.
Ask if your local mall has program that allows people to power walk the inside before the stores open.
A change of scenery is a good thing.
The second line would be your food.
Look at your meal plan, don't like the food item, change it with an allowed alternate.
Remember variety is the "spice" of life. Don't eat boring tasteless food.

Some one posted, set a small goal for yourself. You posted that you wanted a 20 lb. drop in weight, set your sights on a 5 lb. weight to start. Weigh yourself weekly, in the a.m. right after a trip to bathroom, and you might get a surprise on how well you will be losing weight.

I hope this helps even a little.

    i got 20 too! let's do it. pick a small part of your routine and build from that. i remember thats how i started when i initally lost my weight. so for me right now, getting my water back to 9 cups a day is step one.

    I totally understand where you are coming from. I just got back on the workout/healthy band wagon. And when I say just got back on, I am on day 3. It is a slow process, and you just have to do it. I read a blog on yesterday, and it said something that really stuck out to me; and that was that taking care of the body should be like brushing your teeth. It is something that you have to do daily to maintain and keep healthy. I was really blown away with that small statement. I decided that it was a very true statement. So, everyday after work I WILL be at the gym. Even if it is only to do those 30 minutes of cardio. I owe myself that. I would like if we could keep in touch and motivate each other. I know you can do it. Just do it for you and start small. Something is always better than nothing, and you will be back where you were in no time.

    Don't let it win. Try doing something unusual and or different. Turn on your favorite music and just move until you cant move. Add extra movements where you can, dance while you clean, shake your hips, arms, legs while sitting. Show your unwanted pounds who's the boss.

    Find those favorite jeans that you want to fit into and hang them where you can see them everyday. I can understand where you are because getting back into it has been a struggle for me also.

Like Evamathena said... set small goals and work UP from there.

  Start with small changes. Focusing on the 20lbs you want to lose right now may be too big. Focus on 2lbs then make another goal. You can do it!

I did extremely well for lunch today. A small salad with turkey, broccoli, spinach and spring mix, carrots, olives and honey mustard dressing.

So, I went to the workout room in my apartments and started my 2 mile jog. I was next to a lady who was walking, but was holding on to the sides of the treadmill (one of my pet peeves). After about 5 minutes I told her to let go (bossy I know). She said it's such a bad habit I didn't even realize I was doing it. I explained how holding on is slowing down her progress (I heard Jillian from Biggest Loser say this) and hindering her from reaching her goal. So, she thanked me and didn't hold on again. I finally finished my 2 miles (in 20 minutes) and she told me that I inspired her. She asked, "How did you do that?"

I guess people think thick chics can't run (or run fast). It's amazing that even though you think you are not where you should be, you can still encourage and inspire someone along in their journey.

So, Sparkies, go forth and inspire someone today!!

    This is so true... I run outside in intervals (nothing to hold onto out there!) I am inspired to keep running and increasing my increments until I am able to swing 2mi in 20 minutes. I LOVE THAT!

I tell my husband there is a runner trapped on the inside of me who is fighting to get out. He is a former track star & current military official, so for him running is nothing.

Keep motivating others!

    You just inspired me. I want to be able to run so bad but it KILLS my ankle everytime and I wear a brace. In my mind if I could run (something I don't do cuz I never liked it) my weight will fall off becuz I've never done it. I can't imagine doing 2 miles in 20 minutes... that's whats up!!!

    Wow, that is awesome. I also agree with your statement about thick chicks running, I get looks everytime I am in the gym running my 5k on the treadmile. I mean just because I have a thick bottom half doesn't mean I'm out of shape!

I am soooo excited today!!! emoticon This week I vowed to workout everyday, which I have done thus far. But, that's not my personal best. I've done better than that(many, many years ago)!! emoticon My personal best, is that I ran on the treadmill yesterday and finished 2 miles in 19 minutes and 19 seconds!! emoticon

I read a few SP members pages and I was encouraged to strive for breaking my own record. This week I accomplished 3 of them. On Monday I ran on the treadmill and the end result was 20 minutes and 43 seconds. It wasn't bad, but I knew I could do better than that. So, again I told myself, I will run Tuesday and finished at 20 minutes and 13 seconds emoticon. I normally workout with someone and yesterday we decided to run 2 miles in 20 minutes emoticon. I'm not sure why I am stuck on this 20 minute stuff, but when I get a number in my head it's hard to shake it(I guess that's why I'm in banking).

I just wanted to that my SP friends for encouraging me along the way. Also, for motivating me to not settle and set and break my own personal best. If I didn't read your pages and blogs, I'm not sure I would be inspired or encouraged to break or even set these goals.

    And today I thought I was doing something cuz I ran 4 minutes straight LMBO!!! Oh well ... I'll get there one day. Running is not my thang, but I'm trying to make it my thang. Anything to get some results!!!!

    Good for you! I personally HATE jogging...urggg. I love the 20 minute increments too lol. It just makes things seem more doable if its only 20 minutes lol.
