Starting over AGAIN!

Saturday, March 27, 2010

Well, it's almost April, and I haven't taken this seriously yet! I gave up sweets for Lent and have been good about that, but still haven't lost a pound, and haven't given my exercise enough priority. I really need to kick myself in the behind and get serious about this or I never will. I find every excuse in the book to not exercise. I need to just do it! Hope this blog will serve as a start over for a new found motivator to get serious with this lifestyle change! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Starting Over

Friday, January 01, 2010

Well, this is the first day of a new year and new decade. It's also the first day of the rest of my life and I want to get back into being more healthy with my eating and exercise habits so I can lose the weight that found its way back on me over the past year! I have put all the weight back on by not doing all the things I learned the previous year here at Spark, so I need to start all over again. It is a daunting task and I am not looking forward to this, as I know how much work is involved. Yet I know I need to do this for my health. I will need my friends to help me stay on this path and hope with theirs and God's help I can get to my goal weight this time. Today, I am sick, but I will try to at least eat right so I can get this huge ball rolling!

One day at a time and you can do it! I'm trying to improve my efforts this year to get myself back to losing this weight. I've been bouncing back and forth with the same few pounds since November. Good Luck to you.

The first day of the rest of my life

Sunday, October 12, 2008

Today I am committing to start over on my journey to finish reaching my goal weight and continue to live a healthy lifestyle. I am amazed how easy it is to fall off the wagon and gain weight and lose stamina when not following what I have been doing this past year. I have gained back 5 lbs. and this is a wake up call for me. I have been so frustrated for months of being on a plateau and not losing weight no matter how much I tried. I am tired of this. I hope that I can rededicate myself to reaching my goal weight by the end of this year.

Man, I overdid the exercise today, but losing weight!

Wednesday, December 05, 2007

Well, nothing like making up for no exercise this past week in one day! I decided to go for a walk this morning and ended up walking way more than I should have! I walked about 5 miles in 90 minutes, and boy was I sore by the middle of the day! I have been good on my calorie intake, and even have lost a total of 10 lbs now since joining SP! I also have lost 2 inches in measurements. I am excited at my progress and hope that I can keep this up during the holidays with all the tempting sweets! I can tell that I am not able to eat as much as I used to and that is good! I just hope that I can walk tomorrow and not be completely out of comission! I took today off but have to go back to work tomorrow so I need to be able to function. I guess that is what I get for doing that "Weekend Warrior" thing in the middle of the week! At least I can say I did it! With my foot surgeries this past year, I have had lots of trouble with my feet post surgery, so I am thankful that I was able to walk ( even if I had to take some Aleve when I got home!) God is good! Hopefully, I will be able to stay on track on the exercise now and keep on track on the diet. Got to get to Praise team rehearsal, so hope everyone has a great week!

It is great that you've lost 10 lbs.!!!!! and 2 inches. It does work, huh. Sounds like you did go wild with your exercise. It is hard to believe that you were able to do that with your feet, but to some degree they must be getting better. I think as you lose more you will be able to do more and your feet will love you. Thanks for watching over Robert while we were gone. I know it gave him comfort knowing you were there for him if he did need you. You're a great sister!!!!!! I will see you soon and probably call you once you're home from church. We got home around 1:30 this a.m. So talk to you soon. Hugs........G

So far so good this week

Thursday, November 29, 2007

Well this week has been busy at work and church, but I have been good sticking to my calorie limit and getting enough water. I am finding that the more water I drink, the more I want! I think I have lived the majority of my adult life dehydrated, especially in my job, where I have been too busy at the patient's bedside to drink water all day! The calorie limit is difficult still for me though, as I am feeling frequently hungry, expecially in the afternoon and late evening. I am sticking to eating healthy snacks, though. I routinely get on the scale every morning, and have lost a couple more lbs. but I am waiting until the beginning of next week to record the weight that day. I am finding watching that dial go down on the scale a big motivator!! I don't feel any different, and my clothes don't feel different yet, so I am anxiously waiting to get to that point to get more physical proof I am losing weight. I am finding it very difficult to exercise this week. I took my dog for a walk this afternoon, ()or should I say dragged him along!!) but it was so cold, I didn't last very long (which made my dog happy!). I am thinking of getting some other new exercise videos to exercise to in the house since I can't afford a gym membership. If anyone has any good suggestions for beginners cardio workouts let me know. Well hope everyone is doing well and hanging in there in this tempting Holiday season!!
God bless!

Walk away the pounds is a great tape and so is Richard Simmons dance to the oldies. So much fun. I like George Forman circuit training tape too. Lots of good ones out there.

Are you getting enough calories in the day to keep you from being hungry?? I find if I eat too much sugary carbs they trigger my hunger. Try having some low calories veggies prepared for the snack attacks. You are doing great.

Poor little max, dragging him out. Maybe you can buy him a little coat or cute outfit for Christmas. Wouldn't he just love that? Of course I'll miss you you little nut. Great that you're eating well and drinking your water. Most of us probably were dehydrated, but not anymore. We'll I've got to get up at around 4:00 a.m. so I better get my butt in bed. Robert's long gone to bed, but he knows he can call you. I think he probably wanted to get a good's night sleep so he can stay up for 2 nights and play Halo 3 w/o us bugging him. He is allowed to have Joey, Mike and David over to play Halo on the weekend, but no other friends. He knows the rules. I will be able to get online for the first week at our hotel so I'll check Spark and write to you. Have a good (I hope 1/2 day tomorrow) and try to rest on the weekend. I hope you had a good Skillpath seminar. Take care and I love you.
