Week 5

Sunday, February 10, 2013

So week 5 was an interesting one. I am not down any weight at all, but I am still feeling better over all. I just finished week 5 of the C2 5K program, with a 20 minute run. That is the most that I have run in a very very long time. My dog, a black lab was itching her ears excessively to the point it was red and irritated. A trip to the vet to determine that it is an ear infection likely caused by an allergic reaction. She was also experiencing itchy skin. It seems that the allergen may have been in the new natural duck and potato treats that she was getting. So it appears that I have a dog who is breed to retrieve ducks and now is allergic to them. I must say I am sure that I am buring a few extra calories wrestling with her to give her the ear drops.

Onward to week 6.

If you haven't had a chance take a trip over to my 101 in 1001 Day Blog at

Week 4 Over and Out!

Saturday, February 02, 2013

Another successful week. I am feeling great and am down 10 pounds in 4 weeks. That is better than I had anticipated, I am sure that this rate of loss will not continue and I will plateau shortly. I seem to have established a routine and am getting used to counting my portions and food again. Here is hoping that the success continues.
I wrote about my 101 in 1001 day project in my first entry of the year. The blog associated with that project is now up and running. You can find it here.

Have a grand week!

Thanks for the comments. I fixed the link. apparently somewhere in the settings for the site, I set it not to have the www at the front.

10 lbs in 4 weeks is fantastic! Keep up the good work.
Not sure what's going on with your link, though. When I use it, or copy it to my computer's address line, I get an error message : (

Keep up the good work, and don't worry about a plateau till you're on it!

End of Week 3

Saturday, January 26, 2013

Here we are at the end of week 3. It has been a really good week. I have 1 more day in week 3 of the C 2 5k program that I am doing, and it is going very well. I managed to exercise all 6 days that I had planned, and was able to eat within my range.
I am noticing that I am feeling better, sleeping better too.
The next week should be just like this past one, I don't have any evening meetings, which generally interfere with my ability to exercise as they are usually a 3 hr round trip commute.

End of Week 2 & Beginning of Week 3

Sunday, January 20, 2013

This week I was able to fit in time on the treadmill everyday except my 1 day off. Even on the day off though, I still managed to eat reasonably well. I didn't really lose any weight, down .6 of a pound. I am still feeling better and I noticed that my sleep patterns improve when I exercise.
In my first post of the New Year "So Here I Go Again" I mentioned the beginning of a new 'project' for me. The 101 in 1001 days. I have 60 items on my list and continue to add to it. My zero day is October 4, 2015. Hopefully today I will be posting the list and updating that blog at .
Although I am very tech savvy and such, this whole blogging thing is new to me. I generally keep my thoughts and what not to myself and try to remain a private person. But sometimes it is good to try things outside of your comfort zone.

Best wishes for the week.

End of Week 1

Saturday, January 12, 2013

What a week!
This week I was able to stick to it. I walked on the treadmill everyday except Thursday. It is showing. It is amazing how the body adapts quickly. I have lost about 3.5 pounds this week, simply by getting back into the routine. The weight isn't the only benefit I have noticed this week. I have noticed that I have been in a better mood overall.
This week wasn't without it's challenges. In Ontario, the government has imposed a contract on it's public elementary and secondary teachers. We had a political protest planned for yesterday, but at 4am it was ruled illegal. So this has all been up and down. The fight isn't over. As this battle goes on, it will only mean that I have more meetings. Which will make it harder, but not impossible to eat properly.
As for my 101 in 1001 days project. I am making progress on finishing my list. Once it is finished I will be posting my list on my own website and blogging about the progress of it there. The number one goal on the list is to lose 40-50 pounds and another goal is to track my food and exercise using Spark.
C2,5K progress... Today will be the third day of week one. I have noticed though that when I do my regular walking on the treadmill I am burning more calories than I am doing when I am doing the c25k training. I am sure that this will change as I move to more jogging than walking.
Hopefully this coming week will hold.

Sorry for the randomness of this blog post. Just the way that my brain is working at the moment.

All the best
