Goals V/S Resolutions

I'm not one for making resolutions. I will make goals though. I think it's important to have goals so you have something to work toward. I did make some personal and business goals for 2011 and some I achieved, some not. All in all, I'm quite happy with where I am.

My constant battle with my weight, is another story! I did lose 30 pounds last year. I am however, terrified to get back on the scale because I KNOW that I've gained some of them back. Not all of them, but some of them.

I can still fit into the smaller size clothing I had to buy when my others were falling off. Still comfy in those. But at the same time, I know I've not been good with the eating and exercise. I can also feel the few extra pounds that have crept up.

So here I am again. I will get through this holiday season. I know I probably won't be losing weight, but I'm going to work really hard on self control so I don't go completely off the deep end.

I'll be back here soon because I'm bound and determined to stay on track!

    Congratulations on that 30-pound weight loss! Also, I totally agree with your blog. This is why I created a 2013 Health & Fitness Bucket List. These are goals I plan on achieve before 2013 is completed!

    I think for some, resolutions and goals are the same thing. For others, like myself, a resolution is some nebulous, non-specific wish before making a goal. I've stopped making resolutions and have started making goals. I find that it's more effective for me and my progress.

    I think a resolution is the way to get to the goal. I resolve to eat to my plan, register for my classes, pull out the sewing machine, whatever, and the goal is to achieve a certain weight, get the degree, finish the dress. You're right, though. It's easy to see a destination without understanding what it takes to get there.

Moving On....

My beautiful daughter Elyse (who can be found here on SparkPeople) just moved to Delaware. It's a sad moment for me but a happy one for her and her husband where they will be starting their new lives. She received a full scholarship to grad school at the University of Delaware.

As sad as I am about it, I'm going to focus my energy on getting myself healthy and staying on my plan.

I'll be logging my workouts here on SparkPeople. I can never keep up with logging my food though. I know she'll be checking up on me!

Getting a Grip

I think I'm getting a grip on this. Doing good so far with my goals. I even got that closet cleaned and organized. Super happy about that!

I like tracking my exercise here on SparkPeople. I don't know why it excites me to do that, but it does.

I know I have more work to do but I'll get there. Just taking it one day at a time.

    Yea -- I'm happy that you enjoy being on SP -- logging your food and exercise is an accomplishment in itself! Love the owl, sounds like you work with animals -- what a great job that must be.

July Goals

I was a bit depressed about my recent weight gain but I decided about a week ago so put it behind me and moved ahead. For the past week I've done exceptionally well, even with the holiday weekend. So now I'm psyched and ready to roll!

I have set some July goals for myself. Some are for my health and some are for other areas in my life. I'm also bound and determined to create balance in my life!

Lose 7 pounds
Exercise 4 days a week
Drink more water
Become more active with SparkPeople (it really helps me stay on track)

Personal/Home Goals
Reorganize my craft closet (not bad, should be easy)
Keep up with my personal journal, 4+ days a week

Blog & Business
1 New tutorial for my blog
Add 4 new Zazzle items
Begin working on patterns

So there! That doesn't sound to threatening. I'll post my SUCCESS at the end of July.

A Healthy Weekend

I had a fun, eventful, productive, and healthy weekend. It does feel good to be back on track. I actually feel like I'm back in control.

Yesterday I made up some super cute napkin rings. I'll be posting a tutorial up on my personal blog this week. They are owls because I LOVE owls. It's nice to be back to crafting. I find it so enjoyable and relaxing. Next in line, I'm thinking it's time to replace my shabby looking pot holders with some new pretty ones, and I'm anxious to get my glass paints back out. And of course, more beading!

Hubby and I found a new hiking trail today. We love to hike trails and are always excited to find some new ones. We got a few good pictures. As we were leaving we saw some deer. They had no fear of people just like the ones that hang out in my back yard on a regular basis.

I hope everyone else had a great weekend and a healthy week ahead!
