This Week, I WILL ....

This week, I will:

Exercise every morning before work.
Log every food and drink I eat.
Eat healthy dinners.
Drink a minimum of 64 oz of water every day.
Try my hardest to get to 10,000 steps a day.
Get sleep & get to bed at a reasonable hour.

Figured it out ... again.

I tried for weeks to lose weight. I wasn't very successful. I was exercising after work and somewhat watching what I was eating. I knew that I wasn't seeing results because I wasn't fully committed. I knew what I had to do.

This week I did what needed to be done.

I have switched my routine: I now wake up at 5am and exercise in the morning before work. It helps jump start my metabolism. I track everything that I eat. EVERYTHING.

I've lost 3 pounds this week.

My hard work is paying off. I'm eating better. I'm sleeping better. I'm feeling much better overall.

Life Happens

I haven't made any updates for about a week. I've been pretty offline and aloof for the past week. My very best friend had her first baby on Monday and there were some pretty severe complications that developed over the last week. So I've spent a great deal of time worrying about my BFF and her newborn.

While I was away, I didn't eat total trash. I did the best with the options that I had. I did not get my evening walks in. I was not exercising. I was not sleeping well.

Now that things are settling down, I feel like I can get back to focusing on logging my food and getting my exercise in.

    Sometimes there are things more important than getting that evening walk or logging long as in the big picture you don't just give up. Hope your friend and her baby are doing well now and can start their happy life together. Take care of yourself. You are a good friend!!

Yesterday & Today

Yesterday was a good day!!! I'm really proud of myself, I had over 12,000 steps. I took a small walk at lunch time and I'm sure that is the reason I got above 10K steps. When I got home from work, I changed my clothes and asked my husband and Benelli (chocolate lab) to come on a walk with me.

By the time that I got home I was exhausted, but I needed to make dinner. So I did not have a chance to watch and exercise with my new yoga dvd. After dinner I needed to go to bed ... so worn out and tired due to my monthly friend.

I'm getting ready to get up and take a walk. It looks really nice outside so I will take another stroll to the end of the block and back. I will take a walk this evening with my husband and dog. I may not be able to watch the yoga dvd (it's Thursday night football night!!!), but I will do the few yoga poses that I know this evening.

    way to be! Finding something to do even if you can't use the tube is awesome! Perhaps you can pull up a spark yoga vid??? There's a few gooders there!

Yesterday and Today

I rocked yesterday! I tracked everything that I ate. I drank more than enough water. I went for a walk yesterday after work (even though my commute home almost derailed me). I tried something new - bison burger for dinner and I tried some of my yoga dvd.

I really enjoyed my yoga DVD and think that I will give it a go again tonight. I have had a lot of tension in my upper back and I have had a hard time releasing the tension. Child pose = AMAZING. I never would have thought that something as simple as the child pose would help me.

I was eager to try more, but my lovable chocolate lab named Benelli kept trying to knock me over and hide under me while I was in downward dog position. So ... I'll have to move yoga practice to downstairs where Benelli doesn't come.

Today I will leave work a bit early. I will head home and change my clothes and get in a walk outside. I will come back home and give yoga another shot (downstairs). I'm pretty excited!
