A 5K next Saturday?

I'm running a 5k next Saturday and I've only ran twice in the last 3 weeks... one of those times being today :) I finally decided last night that I'm done moping around since my boyfriend left for Oklahoma a week and a half ago. I kind of fell out of routine a week before he left. Not having that routine makes me even more depressed. So, what better day than a Wednesday to get back in to habit? I guess I'm going to have to bust ass the rest of this week and next because I will be running that 5K.

    Don't push so hard to be "ready" that you end up bonking on the big day! Enjoy the time you spend training and the race will take care of itself.

    Good for you.

Remember that there are usually plenty of walkers in those 5Ks and there's no shame in walking some of it if you have to. Don't push yourself too hard or you could injure yourself in the process.

Week 1

I skipped on the gym today, I had to run some errands after work and was entirely too tired to do ANYTHING when I got home. This 6-2:30, 5 day a week job is not for me! I thought workouts would be easier to get in doing 8 hour shifts, but they're not. I'm still tired! I still plan on getting atleast 5 days in at the gym this week, which may be diffifcult because we'll be traveling this weekend back to my parents, where I have to drive 20 miles to find a gym. That's small town Iowa. My friends want to go out for margarita's in an hour, I think I'll just go to bed! emoticon

Life has been so crazy the past few weeks, with my workouts/diet suffering, and now the last big event of my summer, vacation to Duluth with my boyfriend and has family. I'm going to do a 5 day whole body cleanse while we are on vacation so I feel refreshed and ready to get back in a routine when we come home. We'll be staying in cabins so will be able to prepare our own food so I'm excited about that.
I took today off to get ready, errands to run, bills to pay, laundry... but I plan on going to Yoga this afternoon with a friend at our gym. She goes a few times a week, but this is my first time.
Hope to be active on vacation, but want to come home relaxed also. Who am I kidding? A vacation with 14 people, relaxing? Maybe..
Time to get busy. I haven't accomplished anything this morning.
Looking forward to July, and getting on track again before classes start in August.

I drug my butt to the gym this morning after another almost sleepless night. I'm working the 3p-11p shift at the hospital tonight, which I'm not used to. I will probably be ready for bed by 9. I got a decent workout in today anyway. I'm debating whether to go shopping now or take a nap!

The more weight I lose? I felt like I couldn't eat enough yesterday, I ate much more than I usually eat and when I weighed in this morning I had lost 1.1 lb. Disgusting I know! It's not exactly the direction I want to be heading. I put in a little over an hour at the gym today, I wasn't feeling too motivated, it's sooooooooo gloomy here! Bring on the sunshine! I'm going out to dinner with some girlfriends tonight, I think it's just what I need after a pretty terrible week last week with some conflicts at home and my Aunt passing away unexpectedly. Only 7 days til I leave for Las Vegas! Last time I went I came down with strep throat so I spent the entire 3 days in the hotel room. Hopefully a better trip this time.
