Positive things I did today

I started the day by drinking some water.
I looked up some articles on comfort eating and made notes. I saw a counsellor last week who told me that I needed to find ways to get comfort and look after myself as well as looking after other people.
I have set some mini goals such as fitting the bike rack to the car, losing 2 inches off my hips by May, planning the coming week - eating etc, keeping within weightwatchers points for 60 days

Had a tough time of late. Got a stinky virus, my knees have been hurting and I have lost my focus. However, I have used my time to steadily build myself back up, get my head back in the game and start fresh plans. I am just going to build on healthy eating and add in each week until I have shaken the illness/injuries.

I have done so much thinking. Firstly, I have been thinking about how adopting a healthy lifestyle is a bit like going to work. When you eat, it is like earning money - you can earn your money in lots of different ways - perhaps doing a job that is boring but brings the money in (this to me is the food that gives you the calories but nothing else), then there are the jobs where maybe you are helping others or learning something as you work (foods that give you the calories but have other nutrients or are particularly filling). I will work on this analogy. Also, adopting healthy eating as a lifestyle is like embarking on a career. If you crash diet then you are doing a dead-end job that is going to be short-lived, whereas building skills and setting solid healthy foundations is like building a career that will take you into old age.

The other thing I thought about is what funny goals I have - so first off:
For DH to carry me over the threshold without breaking a sweat (or his back)

    Well thats certainly one way to think about things!!!

Maybe you could have a joint effort, you to lose the weight and him to gain the muscle?!

Been gone too long

Have had another blip - a few days of eating chocolate and general junk. I have rested my knees and shins that were starting to feel sore from all the squats and lunges and jumping.

I had a really badly interrupted night's sleep last night. DD woke me up before 5 am and I was furious. Now I feel so tired I am fighting myself not to go and buy junk sugary foods to keep myself going. Have a whole day of work to do before I can get some sleep. I have a sore throat from passive smoking and the neighbours are intimidating us again.

Still, I am going back to basics, cutting down to just 2 goals for this week: to do 3 strength sessions and to limit how much soda I have.

I had to take a day's annual leave today because DH is not at all well. There is no light at the end of the tunnel yet and I can't help thinking that this is not going to have a happy ending for me. Still I have worked hard on my new body and tried to catch up on my committments - course work etc, making phone calls etc.

I did 45 minutes with Maya on the Wii Fitness Coach - I am now at silver level - have unlocked the Alpine Resort and Techno music. I was only going to do 15 minutes of this then do a DVD, but when I realised I was at silver I was totally motivated to do 45 minutes. Then I ran into town (15 minutes) to collect my DD from school. I am starting to feel less like a heavy blimp and more like an athlete (I know I am a long way from that yet, but there is progress in the right direction).

I have been reading other blogs and finding so much inspiration from others. People on here have such great ideas.

Started with a cooked breakfast - turkey rasher, egg and half an English muffin. Taking dd to Taek won do this morning. She is really excited about it. Hopefully she will show us moves later!
Left arm is a bit sore. It has been for the last few days. I think it was DH showing me the exercises he does with PT.
Got to buy DD new shoes today and am going out tonight so lots on. Will hopefully update blog later.

Here I am, back. Did my Davina Super Legs workout, dd did Choi Kwan do and loved it - they talk about discipline and respect - it seems really good. Going to have a bath and get myself really done up - nice make-up etc. Tomorrow I plan to do Wii fitness coach, do some scrapbook pages and get on top of some housework.
