Back on track!

Monday, May 21, 2007

I posted about my plateau last week...and now it's broken! I was out of town for most of last week, and couldn't weigh every day like I usually do. I weighed in Friday morning, and I was down another 2 pounds, under 180! Only 4 more pounds to my goal...

I bought new clothes last week. A lot of them. Really nice clothes, too...I went to a store, Tall Girl, while I was out of town. I had never before been to a store where everything was long enough in the legs and arms. The best part - everything I brought home is a size 9 or 11. I was an 11 or 13 in junior high, so I'm smaller now!

Yesterday I was dressed in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, and two different people (who both know me) said I looked about 14. I thought it was really funny! Today I walked into work (in a new outfit, of course) and although everyone told me I looked good, most of my co-workers questioned whether I needed to lose MORE weight. I took it as a compliment.

Running is going well, I'm almost halfway through the program! I really like running, especially in the morning...gives me a new way to start my day.

It's plateau time!

Tuesday, May 15, 2007

I started the Couch to 5k running program about 3 weeks ago, and I've been plateaued ever since - I go between 181 and 183 every day, it seems. None of my measurements are getting smaller either.

I'm doing great on the C25k program, and I love running! I completed W4D1 today, and it felt good. I just wish I was still losing...this plateau is frustrating. I'm SO close to goal...maybe I shouldn't have messed with what was working, I dunno. I've tried increasing my calories, I've tried decreasing my calories....nothing's working. This sucks.

I finally added some "after" pictures to my page...looks like I've got some toning to do!

I go through plateaus all the time. One of the weirdest things to ever break a plateau for me is to have a total junk day. If I go out to eat and then have dessert and feel like I have totally blown things, it usually breaks the plateau and I wake up lighter than before. I don't know why, but it has worked for me several times.

Second week of C25K in progress!

Thursday, May 03, 2007

Today I completed the first day of the second week of C25K...it didn't feel too bad. I'm glad to have found this program, and I think running is something I can stick with.

I have been sooo bloated all week...my normally 30-inch waist is pushing 33 inches, ugh. Glad I didn't get rid of ALL my fat pants...they're certainly coming in handy this week! My weight is down, however...I'm just bloated.

Had a new personal best on the elliptical last night. In 60 minutes, I burned 958 calories and covered 8.09 miles. When I stepped off the machine, the rug underneath my machine was damp because of sweat - gross, huh? It's one of the many reasons I exercise at home. I was feeling it this morning, but the running helped and I'm planning on going bicycling with my son this afternoon.

What a weekend!

Monday, April 30, 2007

Well, it was a busy weekend! I went running Saturday, and it was 97 degrees - way too hot! I finished my run though, and felt pretty good afterwards. I then went shopping, where I actually found a bikini that was flattering. Didn't buy it, only because I don't have much use for a bikini, but it was fun to try it on...however, then I tried on 30+ pairs of shorts, and couldn't find a single pair that was flattering :( Go figure. I also took some photos of the skinnier me this weekend, but I haven't posted them yet...I'll do it when I get to work, uploading photos on dial-up can be a painful process!

I ran again this morning, at 6AM....it was much cooler, and now I've completed the first week of C25K! It's exciting, I like having a plan to stick with.

C25K - first day complete!

Friday, April 27, 2007

I completed the first day of the Couch to 5k program yesterday! To be honest, it was easy, and I didn't hardly break a sweat. I'm taking it really slow though...I'm going to complete day 2 tomorrow.
