Well, so now I'm 2 years short of being 30! Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday that I was still in high school...and my 10-year reunion is coming up this summer!
For some reason, my birthday has caused me to take a look at my life and my goals, as well as the accomplishments I've made so far. Yesterday I bought pants in a MEDIUM - and they fit!! I haven't been a medium in years! It's so exciting to be making positive changes - and I know the last 18 pounds of my goal will fly by, since tracking my food, eating healthy and exercise are now a part of my lifestyle.
When I started SP in December, I told myself that on my birthday, I could eat whatever I wanted. Milkshakes, cake, cookies, chili burgers, onion rings with ranch - any or all would be fair game on my birthday. About a month ago, I started thinking about maybe narrowing it down to ONE special treat - but I couldn't decide which treat would be worth blowing my calorie limit. Soooo.....now the big day is here! I weighed myself this morning, as I always do. I was down a pound! This surprised me, because 1) TTOM is almost a week late, and I'm terribly bloated; 2) I didn't get nearly enough water in yesterday, and 3) I ate dinner really late yesterday - like 10:30PM. Nevertheless, the loss is there today, so I'm totally stoked about the program.
That, of course, makes it harder to go over my calories for the day. My husband wanted to take me out to dinner - and to be honest, nothing sounded good, much less sounded good enough to blow my diet for. So I got to thinking...I haven't eaten at PF Chang's since I started SP, mostly because my husband doesn't like it :( But I do, and lucky for me their nutrition information is readily available on their website. I started planning...I LOVE their orange peel chicken, chicken lettuce wraps, and noodles. I figured out that be eating a little lighter for breakfast and lunch, and splitting all of my food - I can fit it into my ranges! If I want dessert, I'll be over by about 100 calories, but we'll see...I'm not much of a dessert eater anyways. This alone made my day, and the fact that I even considered the nutrition information before making a food choice lets me know that I've changed my ways.
Anyhow, I'll quit rambling for now...and enjoy the day!
