One Last Try

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

I am giving this weight loss one last try before I resort to the gastric bypass surgery. I have been overweight for my entire 20s. I regret that terribly. I do not want to live overweight in my 30s. Anyway, I gained almost back up to 365 pounds. I am at 332.5 pounds. I am making a commitment, today, to lose this weight!! Giving it one final lunge toward a slim body. God help me! Lol. emoticon

1st step: track your food. Don't even try to lower your calories, just track what you normally eat. Be honest with your tracker and measure your portions. For me at least, this was the key to changing my habits permanently. I focus on permanent weight loss not fast weight loss.

My Minor Setback

Saturday, October 10, 2009

I just had an ectopic pregnancy and had to have an emergency unilateral salpingectomy. I was taken off of work for a week. For me, not being able to exercise is lethal because I eat a lot and then can not work it off. I think I was at 250 before the surgery, but pretty sure because of the surgery I am now at 260. I am setting my weight at that just because I do not keep a scale and don't know. There is actually a scale at work that I use every day. I am sick and tired of being stuck in the 250s! It's time to move on to 160!

Congratulations on your first blog. Keep up the good work. The more you put into you program (blogging, huddling, tracking food and exercise minutes, posting on your team pages, earning spark points) the more you will get out of your program- besides weight loss, you will get emotional support, friends who understand exactly what you are going through, accountability, focus, dependability...and the list goes on...

I had an ectopic pregnancy many years ago and believe me your hormones are reeking havoc with you right now. Dont worry about your weight for a month or so and then get on the Spark Wagon and lose the weight you want to. My heart goes out to you but know things will work out for the best.

Your body and emotions just went through a tremendous jolt. For me, when I don't look at the scale it drives me crazy. More so than the occasional ups and downs of the weight loss program.
I have learned that the scale is not THE JUDGE! I was off exercise for a week and was surprised that I was so tired going back. In all, it was a week of illness, then a week of every 2 - 3 days because I still felt so week. Tomorrow marks 3 weeks since I became ill and my goal is to get back on track with daily exercise this week. One hour, at a time is where I'm still at after 7 weeks with Sparkpeople. Small steps, small rewards, and a modicum of success. Stop berating yourself up over the end result. Stick with it, lower your expectations and your rewards will be much more immediate. emoticon

So sorry to hear about the ectopic pregnancy. I hope you recover from your surgery soon. You will need some time ot recover for that and it cannot be helped. This is not your fault, OK?

You still sound determined to reach your health goals so good for you! You can do it! Just pick up where you left off when your body can move the way you want it to again.

Take care :)
