Crazy busy - Need to get back on track !

Monday, January 21, 2013

Oh how I missed my sparkfriends. Ah - I have been so busy with the new job the past year that I havn't been on track as much as I had hoped. I did join a gym and did great the first 8 months but then it got cold outside. I hate going ANYWHERE extra after work when it is cold out. I am "trying" to get back on track and force myself to go to the gym even though I hate the cold.

Truth is - I am up a few pounds emoticon - and time to SHED them ! I want to get back to where I was when I got married in 2009. Only about 8 to 10 pds to go. I CAN do it !

Wish me luck !

New Job - New Workout plan - New me !

Monday, April 02, 2012

I started my new job on 2-27-12. I knew it would be an adjustment. I have to drive 30 min to the new job as opposed to old job where I was 5 min from work. I told myself I would never drive further....but this job was TOO good to pass up. After 5 weeks at the new job - I am glad that I took it! I am way more challenged. I have way more opportunities. I moved up in my career and making more $. Hours are flexible. I work in a sales office with only 1 other person and away from the production facility. I can walk on lunch and there is a fitness center less than a block from the job. I have 2 lovely windows with a view. I can also work from home, during bad weather in the winter.

So after giving myself time to adjust to the new job....I signed up for a 2 week free membership at the gym. I went this morning for the first time and got in a 30 min workout before work. It feels exhausting - but GREAT ! I am planning on continuing the morning workouts. I am stocked up on healthy foods too !

I am re-energized with the new job and the workout situation. I am motivated to lose the 5 pds I have put on over the past 6 months. I am motivated to lose the last 10 pounds I wanted to lose before I gained 5 back. It is my goal to lose 10 pounds by middle of May. I know I can do it with regular workouts and eating right.

I AM going to be more fit by Summer !

Crazy Busy - Starting NEW job in 2 weeks !

Monday, February 13, 2012

I gave my 2 weeks notice this morning to my current employer. I wasn't LOOKING for a new job. The NEW job was looking for me ! My old boss that I used to work with came looking for me when he started a new job 3 months ago. He recommended me. I wasn't even going to consider it....but the NEW company said to tell them what I would need in order to take the job. I set my sights HIGH and expected them to counter offer. I almost fell off my chair when they met my requests regarding salary and benefit requirements. So - I had to consider it !

It is a great opportunity to advance my career with more flexible hours, better benefits & almost 22% increase in pay. The only down fall is that the job I have now is 7 min from my house. The NEW job is about 20 -25 minutes away. The hours are flexible and I made sure that during BAD snowy weather that I could work from home. There is ONLY 1 other sales rep in the NEW office...and then there will be me running things. I will be coordinating jobs and sending them to our plant facility to get done. I will also be doing some data work and marketing projects too. It is an extremely relaxing envirmonment. The sales rep usually wears slippers in the office. LOL

The really GOOD news is the flexible hours. There is a GYM just across the way from the NEW office and I can take an hour in my day and go work out whenever I want. I have windows in my new office (no windows now) - and I can see the river. I can WALK by the river when I want to take breaks. Whoo hoo ! There is a common area at the new office with a sink, microwave & fridge. I can take and/or make healthy lunches and snacks.

This is ALL good....because I am really excited about losing MORE weight. I am about 4 pounds from my lowest weight that I reached almost 3 years ago before I got married. I want to lose those extra 4 pounds AND then lose another 10 or maybe even 15 pounds. I KNOW I can do this with my new job flexibility and all.

The last week I haven't been eating so well with everything going on. But I KNOW I can do this !!!!!

I am so excited. I feel like this is a NEW beginnning for me.

Welcome to 2012 !

Thursday, January 05, 2012

Thanksgiving and Christmas 2011 came and went by so fast. The holidays just seemed to FLY by. Well - actually the entire year of 2011 went by VERY fast ! So - here we are in 2012.....

The past week or so I have been fighting with sinuses and trying not to get sick. Everyone around me is sick (Especially at work). So I have been trying to get EXTRA rest, drink lots of fluids, eat healthy and take sinus medication to help. There have been a few days when I was tired and more weak due to sinus issues....so I seemed to eat a bit more. I think my body needed the extra energy to fight all these germs and viruses. It seems to be working. I felt horrible on Tuesday this week and of course it was the day I had to come back to work after 5 days off. Each day this week I am feeling a little better.

Today I am actually starting to feel human again. It was my goal to start fresh in 2012 and work really hard again at my goals. The first few days haven't been "horrible" - they just haven't been as good as I hoped. I wanted to work out but didn't have the strength the past couple days. I am hoping that by the weekend I will be more myself and can start my new workout routine. I also hope that hubby finishes up most of the sweets by then so I am not tempted to eat them. LOL

So - here I am back again for another fabulous year at SPARK. I am thankful to all my friends and family who continue to support me. I think I am only a few pounds heavier than the weight I was maintaining since June 2009 when I got married. I haven't actually weighed myself since the holidays. I will get on the scale again in a few days when I know I am feeling myself again. Either way - I KNOW I need to lose a few more pounds and definitely need to TONE UP !

Best wishes to all for a wonderful & happy & healthy 2012 !!!!

I hope you're feeling better! I hate sinus infections and they are energy-draining. Try to take extra vitamin C like in fruit or supplements. I usually take 1000 mg a day when feeling a cold coming on and when I'm sick.
Hey, I'm here for you for support too if you need it! Let's make 2012 a emoticonyear!

Today - Tomorrow - Forever !

Tuesday, December 06, 2011

I am SOO excited that I have been able to stick to my GOOD eating habits and dropping weight over the past few days. I ate a healthy dinner last night with Chicken, Broccoli, Mushrooms and brown rice. I was hungry later in the evening but painted my fingernails to keep from munching. Later I had a couple chocolate rice cakes to help my belly to stop grumbling. It helped for a while but then I was up in the middle of the night hungry.

I was thinking that maybe I need to add a bit more protein to my diet so I am not so hungry. I read last night about adding peanut butter to my oatmeal. Oatmeal is a MAIN staple for me right now as I try to drop the pounds. I tried the peanut butter in my oatmeal this morning and sad to say it is not a favorite. The taste was ok but the texture wasn't the best. So I guess I will go back to adding blueberries to the oatmeal.

Today is yesterday's tomorrow and I am happy that I have lost a few pounds over the past few days. It is definite motivation to keep on eating healthy and working out. I know that I CAN do this and that I DO have the will power to make good decisions. I have an apple for a mid morning snack today. I have lunch and dinner planned and it is going to be a fabulous HEALTHY day !

Here is to today - tomorrow and Forever.....and being the best that I can be !

Hey, that's great you are staying on track! Are you eating protein with each snack and meals? How about maybe eating a boiled egg after you have your oatmeal, a piece of cheese with a piece of fruit as a snack, etc.

Keep up the good work! emoticon

I'm not a fan of peanut butter in oatmeal either. Apples and peanut butter make a delicious and filling afternoon snack.
