So, wow. Yeah, I did it. I'm still kind of in shock.

I'm stunned. I bought shirts at the mall today. They fit right off the rack. They were on sale, 2 for $12.

I cannot tell you the last time I did that. I might have been in middle school. It might have been even longer.

I bought some jeans today and thought they were too tight because they weren't baggy around the waist. My fiancee gave me this pitying yet lustful look and informed me that's how jeans are SUPPOSED to look. Especially, in her words, when they make my ass look good.

I'm going to need to take some time to process this. :)

That can't be right...

Sunday, December 11, 2011

I stepped on the scale and saw 303.

"That can't be right", I said, and I enjoyed it, but I knew it would probably bounce back up.

Then I got back on the scale Friday for my "normal" weigh in...308.

A little bump backwards, but at the same time...308? Whoa!

The fact I can sit here and say "Yeah, I need to lose 8 more pounds to hit 300" is...incredible. Almost 200 pounds lost in 2 years. I can't even think about it half of the time. It just won't process in my brain.

Seriously, it's Thanksgiving day and I've lost another 15 pounds. :)

Even better is that my Mom dug out my old High School letter jacket - it's almost 15 years old...and I actually fit back into it again. How cool is that?

Been a bit since I wrote in here.

I'm really proud to say that I've been sticking to the diet (cheat day is a GODSEND), working out, walking (I've increased my "average" walking pace to a 19 minute mile - my personal best so far is 15!), and it's paying off. I've got a little over a pound to go to the next "little goal" I set myself back in late July. I think I'm going to basically do the same thing - give myself a few months to do another 25-30 pounds, re-adjust, and see how I feel.

The real challenges are coming with the holidays, winter, and birthdays all approaching. It'll be tough - but I know I can do it!

I didn't have to weigh in today - I usually weigh in on Friday mornings - but I beat my alarm this morning and decided "Why not?", so I made the trudge to the bathroom, took a deep breath, and stepped onto the scale.

For the first time since I've bought it, I was now below the goal weight of 350 I set, almost two years ago.

I wish I could say I had a huge celebration, but it was more a quiet surprise. I knew I was getting close - my clothes are getting to the "clown pants" stage again, and I put a couple new holes into my belt. I just smiled a bit, gave a little "Wow", and got on with my morning.

I've decided to set up "small goals" for now, rather than putting a big number in front of me and chasing it. My next goal is that I'd like to hit 325, and I think I'm just going to go like that, 25 pounds or so at a time, until I hit where I feel like it's "natural" for me.

Once I get there, the next big thing will be talking to my doctor about excess skin removal - the "flaps" are already very evident...part of me semi-seriously wonders if there's another 5-10 pounds that could come off just from that!

One last thing...I happened to go to a party the other weekend where guests were offered free headshots. I thought I'd share that here, too. It's nice to show off, right? ;)
