March 11

Monday, March 11, 2013

I weighed in this morning at 262. emoticon

That's way higher than I want to be. I am trying to get back on track.

Goal 1: Have a good week before the March O'Madness run on Sunday.

Goal 2: Get down to 250 before the Oshkosh Half on April 21.

Goal 3: Get down to 225 before the Madison Mini on August 17.

I don't know if I can do that, but I'm going to make a serious run at it.

Day 30

Friday, December 14, 2012

The last two days haven't been that great, but I'm determined to get back on track. I started this morning with a five mile run (outdoors), and now I need to keep my eating under control.

Day 27

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

It has turned cold here, so I went to Snap Fitness again this morning. I did a quick 3 miles on the dreadmill. I'm still feeling pretty good from that workout.

I'm starting to notice just a little looseness in some of my clothes. I still have a long way to go, but it feels good to start to see some signs of progress.

Day 25

Sunday, December 09, 2012

When I left the house this morning, shortly before 7:00, it was snowing lightly, and just starting to stick to the lawns. When I got home, shortly before 10:00, there was a good inch on the ground. Fortunately, I spent that time in the warm comfort of Snap Fitness, plodding out 13.1 miles on the treaded dreadmill. It was a good run. I struggled a bit at the end, but I finished.

Congratulations for sticking to your treadmill commitment, even though you have been gone all day. Great job!

Day 24

Saturday, December 08, 2012

Today there was a "Polar 5K" sponsored by the Society of Pre-Health Students. I'm afraid it wasn't too polar. It was sunny and high 30's. A nice day for a run.

They had a contest where you were supposed to predict your winning time. The person who came closest to their prediction won a $30 gift card. When I signed up, I was really optimistic. I said "29 minutes". When I got there, and got a look at the course (hilly!) and monitored my condition (flabby!), I thought that was probably a bit optimistic. I asked if I could change my prediction. They kind of hemmed and hawed, and I withdrew the question. I probably would have said 32 minutes, and I would have been right on. I finished in 32:03. But I don't know if I could have accepted the prize if I'd changed my prediction.

Anyway, it was a good time, and I'm happy with my results.
