Finally Back

Friday, July 03, 2009

We have had a busy 2 months. We travel to Casper and spent a few days with my daughter, then reported to work. We are working as campground hosts at Marsh Lake Campground in Northeastern Utah. The only access to this area is through Wyoming, we are only 3 miles into Utah. It is a beautiful spot. My only complaint is the weather, it has rained almost everyday since we have been here. I was so glad to go home to Yuma for three days the 3rd week of June, I was finally able to dry out and warm up. Right now we are sitting here with a campground full of people wanting to enjoy the holiday weekend and it is raining.
Also during the month of June we traded our 5th wheel for a 5th wheel toy hauler. It is so nice, but I didn't realize that we had so much packed into the old rig until we had to unpack it and find places for everything in the new one. It has more room because it has 3 slide outs plus a garage to take the ATV's in when we are traveling.
As far as my dental problem, everything is healing good, that is why I went back to Yuma was to see my dentist. She made me a temporary denture to use until this fall. She is waiting till my implants have had time to totally heal and for the bone to grow around them before making my permanent set. Even with the temporary set I'm still having some problems eating solid food that you have to chew. It will be so nice to eat salad again, I sure have missed my favorite food.

Bye for a while

Friday, May 01, 2009

I'm sorry I haven't been around much the last couple of weeks, I have been busy packing for our trip and I had dental surgery last Friday. I had the rest of my teeth pulled and had implants put in. My mouth is very, very sore and I am having a lot of problems finding something that I can eat and no strength to exercise.
We will be taking down our satellite today, so I will be off line until we get settled up in the mountains for the summer. As soon as we get settled I will be back and hard at work taking it off again.

4 More Pounds !!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

Yahoo!!! I lost 4 more pounds, which makes a total of 35 pounds lost.
Murphy's Law has been in effect the last few days for my husband. My husband has come down with as nasty chest cold, he is never sick and doesn't do sick well. Then on Monday we took the ATV trailer for a trial run and found problems, so he has had to take it apart and redesign it to correct the problems and found problems with the axles that he had bought for the trailer, so he had to contact the company that he bought the axles and they are sending replacements. The problem with the axle caused 80% of our problem with the trailer. So we are now waiting on the new axles. Then when I woke up yesterday I heard this water pouring, went outside and our 5th Wheel (a 37ft recreational vehicle that attaches to our truck bed) was standing in a pool of water, with water pouring out the back of it. A water line had broke next to the hot water tank in the 5th Wheel. So my husband had to fix that and now we are trying to dry out the carpet so I can finish packing the trailer this week.
I'm sorry I haven't been on the message boards, but I've been lucky to keep track of my nutrition, activities and read articles. The next three weeks are going to be even busier packing and finishing projects, because we leave on May 4th to travel north. I've printed out sheets to keep track of my information so when I have the internet setup again I can bring my nutrition and activities up to date and hopefully up on the mountain I will have a little more time to myself and can get back on the message boards. So don't expect to hear much from me before the 1st of June.
In the midst of all this our little Polly is expecting her first litter of puppies next week, so we will be traveling with puppies again this year. Hopefully they all have homes by the time we come home.
I saw the surgeon last Friday, he gave me a cortizone shot in my knee to help me through the next couple of weeks. Then if I am still having severe problems I am to call him and he will send me something. Then 6 weeks before coming home I'm to call and schedule a date for surgery for around the 3rd week of October. That gives me time to get home, put things away and get settled before the surgery. I'm hoping to be healed by Christmas, for our Christmas trip.
Well I better close for now and get to work, or I'll never get done today what I have planned...

It is a time for peace

Monday, April 06, 2009

The season is almost over here in Yuma, things have been winding down, and life has been extremely busy for me. Between working, volunteering at the county fair, quilt club, finishing up the church directory, finishing the planning for a couple of events at the church and getting things lined up to leave for the summer; I've haven't had any time for myself. I'm scheduled for only 3 more days at work then that will be over till next fall. The County Fair is over, I only have to pick up my quilts today. Tomorrow is the last quilt club meeting I have for this year. The church directory is complete, started passing them out yesterday. Next Sunday my church is putting on a breakfast for the community of which I am in charge, then that will be done. Then my last event at the church will be the day before I leave, I'm on the planning committee for the Mother-Daughter dinner. Now it is down to getting things ready to leave. The young lady who is going to stay in our house while we are gone will be coming by today, so we put the final touches on our agreement. I'm almost finished getting my quilt fabrics put together into kits for my summer projects, I just need to go pick up some more fabric today to finish a couple of them. Then load the trailer, so we can move it to be able to do our last project here at the house before we leave. In the area we park the 5th Wheel we need some gravel to go under it and finish pouring concrete for the driveway. So we want to haul in some gravel and spread it then mix and pour the concrete that finishes the driveway, that way the concrete will be well cured by the time we come home in the fall and put the 5th Wheel back in its place. We leave 4 weeks from today, not soon enough.
I've been so busy the last few days I haven't had time to post on my teams or do a lot of things for myself. So yesterday I took the day off, I didn't worry about my steps, I didn't worry about entering my nutrition, I took time for myself. Now I'm refreshed and am ready to get back to work on my program. I'm so tired and my knee has been letting me know that I have been doing to much, I go see a surgeon on Friday about my knee to see what he has to say.
Enough said time to go...... emoticon

Hello Butterfly: You certainly have a full plate. I'm trying to figure out what a fifth wheel is, must have something to do with trailers as it sounds like you have one.

I saw a wonder Passion Play yesterday, "The Jesus Story". It was spectacular and rivaled any Broadway play that exists. I have a renewed resolved in my walk with Jesus. He is so wonderful and merciful and I am so happy that He saved me.

I am putting you on my prayer list which I have for people who have knee afflictions. I realize the knee is the most complicated joint in the body and know quite a few people who have knee problems. I pray that you get the best treatment possible and I pray for your recovery.

Be blessed.

I made my first goal!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Today when I got on the scales it read 175, yes I made it. I'm continuing to work on goals 2 and 3, now I can start working on goal 4. I think goal 2 is a little unrealistic for me this summer, because my knee is not improving it seems to be getting worse, but I am still going to try.

My life has been so chaotic the last couple of weeks the season is coming to a close down here in Yuma. Every time I think things will settle down, something else comes up. This last weekend, things were so busy I didn't get a chance to get on to Sparkpeople. My pedometer has been acting up, half the time not registering my steps, so haven't been getting my 10,000 steps. Haven't had time to cook good food for my husband and myself. And most of all haven't had time for my furbabies, and they are letting me know it. I'm really looking forward to the middle of April, when all of my commitments will be over and I can start packing the 5th wheel so we can head for the mountains for the summer where we can work and relax, no social commitments.

But the scales this morning made it all worthwhile, I still lost 2 pounds this week....
