TuesdayTuesday, March 23, 2010today was a wash. had a pow wow of four people, to plan a menu and straighten some things out, then took Mom to my Uncles' house to straighten up the envelopes and magazines all over the place, he can't find what he needs to do his taxes, I got some paperwork I've been waiting for so I can do my taxes, barely got anything done in the yard, but I did get the trash cans out. Hubby has been in his robe all day didn't venture outside at all, it has been very windy today even had a wind advisary., redressed and bandaged Taz's wound it's getting a nice scab now and he is back to his feisty personality

the Health Bill passed the House of RepsMonday, March 22, 2010I just wonder how this will change the current state of affairs, and how long it will take to REALLY implement so it is running smoothly and accepted by all. Will this reverse the trend of all these Hospitals closing down due to lack of funds, or will it increase that trend. I already pay almost a $1,000.00 a month for my health care, does this mean it will go up more or will I get a discount, half of my pension goes to paying this fee monthly so I could use a break. Outside of the ovarian cancer, I've been blessed with good health all my life, but Hubby has so many chronic problems ; allergies DM hypertension obesity insomnia depression arthritis gout osteoporosis spinal spurs and herniated discs, and more... but you get the picture, we HAVE to have medical coverage for him alone ![]()

I believe there are good points and bad points but I'm taking a wait and see attitude. There is just so much to try and understand it all. I'm a widow and concerned on how it will impact my healthcare which went up an additional $70+ a month this year. I pray that this is a good change for all.

I don't think it will only make things worse. Where is the money going to come from. People just can't afford anymore taxes. And the part that if you don't don't carry insurance on your family you will be fined. If you can't afford insurance then your not going to afford the fines. Its going to hurt the Medicare system for the elderly. And the medicaid system need to be fixed, from all the abusers before they can extend that. They should of just thought it out more. Is my opinion. Some things are great in it though. Like they can't be turned down for pre exiting conditions. But we all have are own opinions. I am just glad I am in one of the states that is going to fight it. Report Inappropriate Comment |

I'm very pleased that the bill passed. My husband carried our health insurance until he retired two years ago and then we both went onto mine. DH has a pre-existing condition and we have been concerned about what will happen when I retire in another couple of years. I'll not be eligible for my current insurance. Now we will now be able to buy into a health insurance plan we can afford without losing our home. Report Inappropriate Comment |

I'm so happy the bill passed, I have been watching the news over here in Canada, surely it can only mean good things for families who could not get health care. Hope your hubby is not feeling to bad, I would like to wish you both the best of health, wealth and happiness. Report Inappropriate Comment |

I am so concerned about this! I do not understand what it means, at all. We are already paying for people who do not have health care coverage(ie medicaid)which is so abused!!!! My daughter is an ER nurse ans she tells about teen age girls being brought in by the parents or grand parents for pregnancy tests &/or std tests...this is in the ER. They cannot turn any one away. Why are they coming to ER? Because a Dr. office makes them pay a co-pay. I also hear about people who claim poverty and get their hospital bills written off. What difference is this bill going to make??? Yeah, I am very concerned for my country. Report Inappropriate Comment |
