Rockin' Robin, Tweet, Tweet

I've decided not to worry too much about my bone density. I'm going to keep up my strength straining, my aerobic exercise, and my active lifestyle. I'm not going to take any prescription medication for my bone density.

I'm with you on this one. I'm already doing everything I'm willing to do for my bones. I'm not willing to risk the side effects of the "treatments". Live is good.

I have a bone density test done every two years, and my bone loss has slowed considerably with the increase in weight lifting and weight bearing exercise. So you are on the right path!

l really like this article and totally agree. What's the problem with us baby-boomers, that we can't just get old? We make the aging process into a punishing dis-ease when we might be happier and less discontented if we just accept that at some point then we will be going slower! Very few of us will be doing marathons at ago 80! (So I need to stop feeling like I SHOULD be doing a triathlon now and then!)

Doing the best I can for where I am at!

PS Love the robins!

Go With the Flow

Monday, April 14, 2014

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” - Lao-Tzu

You know what they say..."Let go or be dragged." It's hard to let go, but much preferred to being dragged.

Working on Procrastination

Tuesday, April 08, 2014

I am working on procrastination. Sometimes I put off health exams and vehicle repair appointments. I am getting better. I already had my annual physical, my mammogram, my pap and pelvic exam and eye exam. I also took my big scooter in for a tune up and a new front tire. I feel good about it. I saw an Easter bunny riding his b icycle

I got to see the therapy dogs at the spiritual healing conference. Plus, I got a free chair massage.

    Look at you go! Awesome.

I also struggle with this, particularly surrounding medical appointments and other "important for yourself" type stuff... I am not surprised that you do, to, given that you spend so much time taking care of others.

Nice job picking this "weakness" to work on- I should join you!

Mammogram

Friday, March 28, 2014

Yay! My mammogram is normal. I didn't have to go back to get more images or ultrasounds. My breasts are still sore from being shushed.

Today I go to the healing and spirituality conference, The Gift of Self Compassion. It is for caregivers, who tend to put others first and can become depleted and fatigued. The conference teaches caregivers to be a compassionate presence for one's self and others.

My ginger that I planted is growing.

Growing My Own Ginger

Monday, March 10, 2014

I planted some ginger that I bought at the store. I love new life. I also love compost. Some great things can come out of a bunch of scraps and doo doos. Life is miraculous!

I want to plant some celery and romaine too from my kitchen scraps.

Ginger is great tasting and great for us!

How'd you do that? Seeds and compost in a dish? The only thing I've ever planted was sod...which is not really doing anything... emoticon
