broken wrist

i'm on the 3rd week with a broken wrist. i finally have a smaller cast that weighs 1/2 of what the original one weighed. i can have use of my elbow which gives me a little more freedom. i'm still not suppose to hold or push anything heavier than a pencil. i'm still flustered with not being able to chop anything. dh is doing his best, but he has never sliced or chopped anything before and i'm scared he will chop his finger off. i try to remember what my yoga teacher says about going into my closet and putting on my cloak of patience. oh well 3 more weeks to go. hopefully i can ride my motorcycle when we go to daytona beach.

    well it sounds like your on the road to recovery.

Glad your dh is helping you out. They do have veggies already chopped you could get, then you don't have to woory about cut fingers.

    I love that your yoga teacher used the idea of a cloak of patience. I need that today too. Remember this is temporary, imagine if it were permanent.

    I was in a motorcycle accident in Oct 2010 and I know exactly how frustrating it is to be so reliant on everyone else.

E2 Diet - Day 11

6/9 Used Day 11 for lunch Day 13 for dinner

I entered this blog and forgot to hit the post blog entry and lost all of it. This is the 2nd time.

B - I ate out pecan pancakes
L- Green leafy Warp - I used the LO mushrooms and mashed potatoes to fill it.
D- Portobello Mushroom Fajitas w/Brown Rice, Guacamole & Black Beans. Subed refried beans for the black beans. The avocado wasn't ripe so I couldn't make the guacamole and I used Salsa.
Dessert - I ate the LO pecan pancakes with strawberries. I also had a Tootsie Roll Pop. It was way to sugary. I'm not having them again. My DH can keep his bags of Pops.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the program! I feel the same way about sugary stuff now. Things I used to like are too sweet or have a funny aftertaste. Fruit is better!

E2 Diet - Day 10

6/9 Day 10 on menu

B- Simple Cereal Bowl. This is what I had.

L-E2 basic Open Faced Sandwich w/Cannellini Dip. I put the Leftover mushroom & mashed potatoes and topped the the cannellini dip. This was really good. The dip was like a gravy.

D-Gingered Mushrooms w/Bok Choy & Carrots over Soba Noodles. I couldn't find some of these ingredients so I had the fabulous Supreme Pizza.

Dessert - Sliced Pears w/Lemon Juice. I had SO Delicious w/raspberries and honey and vanilla (kind of like the maple sour cream dream)

I enjoyed all the meals today. I was checking the shopping list and I can't figure out where the soft tofu is used. Maybe I can use it for the sour cream on the tex-mex meals.

  


E2 Diet - Day 9

6/7 Day 9 on menu

B - Banana & toasted Bagel. I had my usual cereal and banana

L- Supreme Pizza. I wasn't hungry until 3:00 and had Tortilla Chips and Salsa

D - Tofu Steaks w/Mushrooms, Mashed Potatoes & Swiss Chard. The steaks were OK (next time will cut into 12 pieces - they seemed to thick) They had a good flavor. The mashed potatoes were good. I used chives instead of rosemary. (next time will start them earlier - it took 20 min to steam instead of the 10 min) I mixed the swiss chard into the mash potatoes. I had a lot of food left over.

Dessert - Maple Sour Cream Dream. I just used SO Delicious neopolitan with strawberries and poured honey over it. No maple syrup in the house. I've got to pick some up.

It was an OK day, not like day 8. But then it could be the cook.

6/6 Day 8 on menu
B - Rip's Big Bowl. I had Marcia's Big Bowl.

L - E2 Stuffed Pita w/Cannellini Dip. I had the Pita with the remaining spinach, red pepper Hummus. Good to the last drop.

D - Baby Field Greens Salad & Supreme Pizza. WOW what a big meal. I made the salad w/spinach & romaine and add all the other ingredients. Loved the grapes in it. It could have been a meal by itself. It was very tasty. The Supreme Pizza I made with a 7" pita flat bread and 1/2 of the ingredients or even less, using a crumbled NY Times Veggie Burger. The pizza WAS supreme! Here I've been ordering Pizza Hut pizza w/o cheese and I could have been eating this delicious pizza. Who knew!

Dessert - Fzn Blackberries w/Soy Yogurt. I was too full to eat dessert. That doesn't happen hardly ever!

I sure am liking this challenge.

    I thought for sure I wouldn't really like the Supreme Pizza, but I really enjoyed it! I will make it again for sure - not necessarily by the E2 recipe, but now that I know it's doable it will probably be one of our go-to dinners!

    Sounds delicious! I've been thinking about making my own pita bread. This is yet another reason to do that.
