My fruit and veggie intake has been terrible. I NEED to get some more in the house. No excuses, I just need to go and buy some.

My exercise has been lacking. I am sick with a sinus infection, so that doesn't help. I have no desire to run when I feel like this, which sucks because I have my 5K on Sunday. I kinda feel up to some weights, so I'm gonna head to the gym soon.

I work too bloody hard. Seriously, I'm one of the first to arrive and the last to leave. I keep the same hours as the assistant principal! It is making me tired and cranky.

My boyfriend does next to nothing around the house. Our agreement is that while he is only working part time, he takes care of the housework. I think that is more than fair, since I am working 60 hours a week most weeks, and he works 15. Lately he has just stopped doing stuff and the house is a mess. I'm tired, and sick, I'm not doing it!

In short, I am sick, I am worn out and I am tired. I don't want to stop exercising, because I feel that is what keeps me on track. Gah. Just venting.

    Hang in there, girl. I hope you feel better soon and more up to eating your 5+ a day and getting back to the exercise. Put a foot up your boyfriend's arse; tell him you need help!

    Hang in there!
To increase your fruit & veggie intake, you might try preparing some veggies, i.e. carrots/celery/cucumber, in the evening to take to work the next day. Grab an apple, orange &/or banana as well. One of my favorite snacks is an apple with some cheddar cheese.
All work and no play will make you sick.
Finally, we cannot change people and that goes for your boyfriend. He has to make his own changes. However, you can change how you think about the situation or about him.

The weights area at the gym on a Tuesday night, that it. The men leave the benches everywhere, and when I try to move it to where it is supposed to be, I have to get people to shuffle (in between sets, of course!) so I can fit. I will fit, so I see no point in waiting around for benches where there are plenty, they are just stacked up against the wall.

I ran through my new weights program today, from start to finish with no breaks. Whew, am I gonna hurt tomorrow! The worst (best!) moves are the Arnie chair press and the walking lunges. My butt and back are already sore, tomorrow is gonna be interesting! I enjoyed the lower reps at a higher weight, and am glad I requested this program.

Additionally, 6 weeks ago I could only do 5 skull crushers at a time with a 5kg bar (no weight). Tonight I did 3 sets of 10 with a 10kg bar and weight (10kg total). Colour me proud :D

Sunny Sunday

Twas a lovely day in Auckland today. Sunny, but not too hot. Exactly the weather I love! I didn't do nearly enough work, but I got some other things done!

Above is a picture of my shiny, new laptop. I was very lucky to get this! My mum decided to pay for half of it as an early birthday present, and the store had an interest free deal for the other half, so it is only costing me $10 a week. I love my new laptop, although I really wanted the pink one!

emoticon I went for a run this afternoon. It was 6K all up, with about 4-4.5K running. It wasn't an awesome run because my asthma was acting up due to everyone having their fireplaces going and the air being really smokey. I hope I'll be ready to run my 5K this weekend!

I discovered this at the supermarket today:

It is thin crust, and only 200cal for a quarter of the pizza. I had half the pizza, which was 400 cal. Add a salad (I didn't, I should have) and you have a decent and quick dinner! Will be getting this again!

    good job..its rainy here..my asthma was a little bit flaired up and dont you hate bad air days..but you were running..and that beats sitting on the couch complaining..GREAT JOB!!

What a day

I obviously can't go into much detail about my job on here, for confidnetiality reasons, so I will just sum up my day in numbers

Games of soccer and rippa rugby played: 1 of each

Children sent to the sickbay: 3. I'll mention here that soccer and rippa are supposed to be non contact sports

Number of children involved in a fist fight: 2. Not the same children sent to the sickbay.

Number of children who are spending the rest of their school lives on the naughty seat for speaking disrespectfully about a teacher (me) within ear shot: 1

Number of fries I am going to eat tonight with my once a month burger treat? Many.
