Tonight I had my first experience of real idiots at the gym. They were young guys, around 16, and there were 4-5 of them. They were messing around, using all the machines and equipment. Well, when they weren't standing in front of the mirror lifting up their tshirts and checking out their abs and biceps, that is. I used a couple of benches (sitting, standard and decline) after them and was having to wipe them down before and after using them because these fellas weren't wiping down ANYTHING. And they were sweaty and they smelled disgusting!
So I approached them. And I was really nice. I said "Hey, I think you guys are new around here. Just so you know, it is standard practice to wipe down your machines and benches after you use them. I've been having to wipe them down before I use them because you aren't wiping them." Then I walked away. And they all congregated and I could hear them saying stuff like "What did she want?" and "What did she say about us?" in a bit of a defensive and aggressive manner. Maybe the full sentences confused them? I don't know! Then I lost my sh#t a little and called out, mid leg lift, "Wipe your Sh#t down!" Yeah...Then I finished up and told a trainer, who escorted me to my car just in case the idiots had taken offense.
Ah well, the trainers think I'm funny.

My fruit and veggie intake has been terrible. I NEED to get some more in the house. No excuses, I just need to go and buy some.
My exercise has been lacking. I am sick with a sinus infection, so that doesn't help. I have no desire to run when I feel like this, which sucks because I have my 5K on Sunday. I kinda feel up to some weights, so I'm gonna head to the gym soon.
I work too bloody hard. Seriously, I'm one of the first to arrive and the last to leave. I keep the same hours as the assistant principal! It is making me tired and cranky.
My boyfriend does next to nothing around the house. Our agreement is that while he is only working part time, he takes care of the housework. I think that is more than fair, since I am working 60 hours a week most weeks, and he works 15. Lately he has just stopped doing stuff and the house is a mess. I'm tired, and sick, I'm not doing it!
In short, I am sick, I am worn out and I am tired. I don't want to stop exercising, because I feel that is what keeps me on track. Gah. Just venting.

The weights area at the gym on a Tuesday night, that it. The men leave the benches everywhere, and when I try to move it to where it is supposed to be, I have to get people to shuffle (in between sets, of course!) so I can fit. I will fit, so I see no point in waiting around for benches where there are plenty, they are just stacked up against the wall.
I ran through my new weights program today, from start to finish with no breaks. Whew, am I gonna hurt tomorrow! The worst (best!) moves are the Arnie chair press and the walking lunges. My butt and back are already sore, tomorrow is gonna be interesting! I enjoyed the lower reps at a higher weight, and am glad I requested this program.
Additionally, 6 weeks ago I could only do 5 skull crushers at a time with a 5kg bar (no weight). Tonight I did 3 sets of 10 with a 10kg bar and weight (10kg total). Colour me proud :D

Twas a lovely day in Auckland today. Sunny, but not too hot. Exactly the weather I love! I didn't do nearly enough work, but I got some other things done!
Above is a picture of my shiny, new laptop. I was very lucky to get this! My mum decided to pay for half of it as an early birthday present, and the store had an interest free deal for the other half, so it is only costing me $10 a week. I love my new laptop, although I really wanted the pink one!
I went for a run this afternoon. It was 6K all up, with about 4-4.5K running. It wasn't an awesome run because my asthma was acting up due to everyone having their fireplaces going and the air being really smokey. I hope I'll be ready to run my 5K this weekend!
I discovered this at the supermarket today:
It is thin crust, and only 200cal for a quarter of the pizza. I had half the pizza, which was 400 cal. Add a salad (I didn't, I should have) and you have a decent and quick dinner! Will be getting this again!
