Today I went for a 4.3km walk and I added in my running intervals. The plan called for 1 minute running, 1 walking, lather, rinse and repeat 7 times. Here is the detailed interval thought process.
1- Wow, this feels great. Opps, I ran for 2 minutes, oh well, yay me.
2. Still not too bad, but a little harder to get going again
3. Hot hot hot. Must take off jumper
Insert trying to take off jumper while standing and not dropping my ipod, phone, inhaler and lip balm
Here I took a 3 minute walk break because I came to a big hill and there was no way I was running up that!
4. Yay for rain, this feels good!
5. Get though this and there are only 2 more to go!
6. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming!
7. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, done!
I also ran a little bit once I got closer to home. I felt up to it so I did it. Didn't time it, but probably 30 seconds.
I found that I got tired and started looking at the stopwatch around the 45 second mark, so I'm hoping that in the next week I can break out of the 45 seconds=uncomfortable thing. I was going fairly slow, so I don't think I was burning myself out, just that I'm not a runner yet!
I also found that I was only 1 minute faster per km then I usually am, so I definatly wasn't running that fast!
Stay tuned for more adventures of running!
EDIT: I love my shoes! No seering leg pain like last week. A little ankle pain but I think it was because I didn't lace them correctly.

Day Seven of no excuses. I have walked 3 times this week (4 including today, which I will be going on after breakfast settles). I have watched what I have been eating. I have eaten more fruit, and only had takeaways once. And I have lost....
Wait for it......
Are ya ready....
.2 of a kilo.
FML. You have to be kidding me scale. I put in all that extra work and .2 of a kg is how you reward me?
However, we shall press on.
No excuses shall continue! This week coming I'm going to work in 2 rest days, because one wasn't enough. Walking 5 times a week is plenty. I'm also going to keep further away from the sweets. Even if they fit in my calories they can't be helping.
Also this week I'm going to start C25k....or a version I found.
I'm not sure where I found this, so if anyone recognises it let me know so I can credit the website. I have searched far and wide and I still can't find where I got it from! But I def. didn't make it up!
I like this because C25K looks too confusing and this works better in my brain. It has the same kind of principle, so it should have the same effect. I also like how for the first week it is just 14 minutes. I can do anything for less then 15 minutes!
So the plan for next week is as follows:
Sunday: 3km walk with D1 W1
Monday: 4km walk
Wednesday: 4km walk with D2 W1
Friday: 3km walk (will make it 4 if I'm not going into school, I'm not sure at this stage)
Saturday: 4km walk with D3 W1
Here we go, week 2 of no excuses! Who will join me this week!

Ummm...I didn't work out today. I know, I know, naughty me, what about my week of no excuses. Well, I have excuses and I have reasons for not walking today
1. Monsoon going on outside
2. Tired to the point where I just can't move
3. Wanted to spend time with the boy
So there ya go. I promise I'll go on a nice looooong walk tomorrow to make up for it. And I'll be going in these:
My camera is elsewhere, so for now an internet pic will have to do!
My new shoes Pearl and Mavis, and I think we'll be very happy together. Yes, I named my shoes. I name a lot of things and they always have...traditional names. My cars have been called; Lesley, Gertrude, Mavis (my left shoe is named after this car!) and Hattie.
Anyways, I spent about $40 more then I wanted, but these gave me plently of support where needed (arches and outside of my feet) and they have a 1000km life. And they are purple and sooooo pretty. And comfy. And I'm in love. And they gave me free socks. Tomorrow shall be a nice walk, no worrying about my feet!
Also, I had breakfast late today. Only by about an hour, but it made a difference! I was running late so I ate a banana once I got to school. About an hour later I was shaking uncontrollablly. Lucky I was planning and not in class, so I was able to grab a snack, I had dried fruit. I thought the sugar would help. It did, but it showed me how important it is to make time for breakfast, and to have something more then a banana! Guess I can't do that anymore!

I have 3 pairs of black work pants. One pair mountains too big (stretched out over the years), one fits well and one too small. The pair that fits well feel victim to thigh holes (you know the ones!) and needed to be thrown out. On a whim (and I couldn't find my belt) I tried on the too small ones. And they fit! Not well sitting down, but standing up they are great!
AND I'm down 2.5kg even. That is one sixth of the weight I want to loose!
OK, now I've got energy to burn!
