I thought it was about time to show you my classroom. I am very proud of it!
I have 23 monsters to call my own. The first week has gone very well and I am really enjoying it. Had a few moments where I have felt overwhelmed, but the staff are very supportive and are helping as much as they can. Sometimes I just have no idea where the start, and need to see another teachers planning to get ideas. Other times I just need things explained to me. No matter what I need someone is always there for me!
I had my first official observation on Thursday. Went very well. I got very positive feedback on my classroom and behaviour management. I have just been firm but fair from day one and it seems to be working. I'm sure it won't last, but currently my kids are awesomely well behaved! YAY!
In terms of eating, I have been doing OK. A couple of nights of takeaways/dinner out, but am holding steady/down for the week. Been to the gym 3 times this week, and will go for a run tomorrow and to the gym on Sunday, so I am happy with that. Got myself some new workout gear on sale, new tights and 2 tops, so I'm excited to wear them. Also got a running jacket on mega sale, so now I can't wait for winter. OK I TAKE IT BACK, I CAN WAIT FOR WINTER!

Tonight I had a burger and fries for dinner. And I ate every yummy bite.
The last time I had a burger and fries was the 7th of Jaurary. Today is the 7th of February, so maybe I'll start a tradition :) The important thing to remember here is that since I last ate a burger and fries I have lost 4kg! So eating a 'bad' dinner once a month is not going to hurt, or ruin my weight loss. It probably won't help, but I won't put on 4kg overnight.
I am writing this more as a reminder to myself than as a message for others.
In other news, I went to the gym after work. Worked 8-5 at school and headed straight to the gym for my workout. Go me. Did 15 minutes on the weights (Upped them all this week and held a plank for 30 seconds!), 15 minutes on the bike, 10 minutes of the xtrainer (which I forgot about until now) and 10 minutes on the treadmill on high incline. 50 minutes in total, which I am happy with. Thinking about a rest day tomorrow, but will see how I feel.
Off to my planning! The joys of being a teacher :)

Well hello, sparkworld. I am writing this after 9 (!) blissful hours of sleep. And after a mental breakdown. Ya know when you are so tired that you can't fall asleep? It feels like you have forgotten how. That was me last night. I had a major breakdown, and my boyfriend was so worried he even said sorry for his part in it (he has said sorry to me 3 times in our 6 year relationship). So there is that.
I decided that my weekly weigh in day would be Saturdays. Well, I've decided to change that to Sundays. The reason is that on Fridays I do my weights at the gym, which means that I am holding onto some serious water on a Saturday. So the past 2 Saturdays my weight has been up, which is discouraging, BUT on Sunday I have been reweighing myself and recording a loss. Yesterday I weighed 83.4 (+200g), but this morning I weighed 83.0 (-400g).
In slightly related news OMG I WEIGH 83 KILOS. Total loss of 4.3kg. The 82's are so close!!!
I have had 2 non-scale victories this week. On Friday I went out for dinner with 2 girlfriends (and made a very healthy and yummy choice of a custom noodle box) and they both said twice how awesome I am looking and said my jeans were too big for me. I pulled my jeans out a little, and there was a definite gap! Also, mum told me that I just keep getting skinnier!
Getting a massage was a fantastic idea. It was beyond needed. I would even go as far as to say it was medically necessary. Apparently I went at the right time - 2 weeks after starting weights - and my muscles were at the point of exhustion and filled with lactic acid. My massage lady (Diane, magician, saint) said she wished she could just take my muscles and ring out the lactic acid, because there was so much. She spent most of the time on my back, which was the area of most concern. She also said I had tight butt muscles on my right side, so she massaged my butt too. Not as weird as it sounds, I swear. She showed my some stretches that I could do to keep my hips lose, since that is what caused the tight butt muscles.
Lastly, I have been having major hip and foot pain after running. After seeing the lovely (good looking) man at the shoe store I have been diagnosed with extreamly high arches. I have gel inserts and have been recommended to get pronating shoes next time I need new sneakers. Hopefully that helps!
