I thought I was going to the gym tonight. I thought I would be fine after boxing last night.

I WAS WRONG. I hurt so bad today. I hardly wrote anything on the board because I could barely hold a pen. We had a 'learning to listen' day in my class. My shoulders and legs kill, since those are the main areas used in boxing. Rest today, gym tomorrow. I little swap never hurt anyone :D

Also, I think my workmate (who is soooo lovely, she gives me big hugs on bad days and pep talks when I need them) is going to join my gym, which is nice. It will be nice to have a familiar face around.

Other than that life is quiet. Working hard, as always. Staff meeting until 6 today (they happen once a month in lieu of mandatory days during the holidays) which was very interesting.

How to feel hardcore

1. Go to a boxing class for the first time in 6 months.

2. Partner up with a guy who assumes you will be weak and meek.

3. Start punching. Hard. You can punch hard.

4. Have the guy say "whoa!" after 2 punches.

5. Feel hardcore.

6. Partner with another guy. Repeat.

Yep. My arms hurt, I smell and I'm tired. Happy Bubble!

My typical workout week

My new job has brought many challenges, and one has finding the energy to exercise. I have still been managing to workout 5 times per week, after work and on the weekend. The best part about my job is that it is near my gym, and I have to drive past the gym to get home. This is my new typical week:

M - Cardio (thinking about starting my boxing classes again. What do you think?)
T - Strength then cardio (usually stationary bike)
W - Rest
T - Strength then cardio
F - Rest
S- Run/walk
S - Strength then cardio

This is not set in stone. If I don't feel like doing something I will switch and change as I feel like it.

In other news, I went out drinking last night for the first time in forever. And remembered why I never go out drinking this afternoon, when I woke up and realised I had slept half the day away. What a waste! No hangover though, since I'm not a big drinker and I just had a couple (about 5 drinks over 4-5 hours) and I slammed the water all night.

I weighed this morning and am up 600g. I think it is water weight from the alcohol and the Burger King I had for dinner. I'll take the weight with a grain of salt and reweigh mid-week for a more realistic weight. 600g overnight when I didn't eat 3500cal over my normal eating is obviously a fluctuation, right?

    Ha! I just got home from a wedding and I also drank a fair few glasses of wine. Dammit weigh-in is tomorrow and I did so well this week ahaha...

I think your exercise plan is great and I would love to do a check-in workout plan thing to help us stick to it!!

Right 5 glasses of water and an early night is needed so I don't end up too hung tomorrow! Have fun with your classroom tomorrow xxx

    You are so blessed to have a job. Thank God every day for your income. My company hasn't been able to pay me since October 28th, and I am worried about stress weight and gaining from UNDEREATING (which has happened to me before.) Financial stress is much much worse for long term weight than a night of celebrating. Be grateful - you are so so so fortunate. The liquid weight retention will go away.

I thought it was about time to show you my classroom. I am very proud of it!







I have 23 monsters to call my own. The first week has gone very well and I am really enjoying it. Had a few moments where I have felt overwhelmed, but the staff are very supportive and are helping as much as they can. Sometimes I just have no idea where the start, and need to see another teachers planning to get ideas. Other times I just need things explained to me. No matter what I need someone is always there for me!

I had my first official observation on Thursday. Went very well. I got very positive feedback on my classroom and behaviour management. I have just been firm but fair from day one and it seems to be working. I'm sure it won't last, but currently my kids are awesomely well behaved! YAY!

In terms of eating, I have been doing OK. A couple of nights of takeaways/dinner out, but am holding steady/down for the week. Been to the gym 3 times this week, and will go for a run tomorrow and to the gym on Sunday, so I am happy with that. Got myself some new workout gear on sale, new tights and 2 tops, so I'm excited to wear them. Also got a running jacket on mega sale, so now I can't wait for winter. OK I TAKE IT BACK, I CAN WAIT FOR WINTER!

Once a month will NOT hurt me

Tonight I had a burger and fries for dinner. And I ate every yummy bite.

The last time I had a burger and fries was the 7th of Jaurary. Today is the 7th of February, so maybe I'll start a tradition :) The important thing to remember here is that since I last ate a burger and fries I have lost 4kg! So eating a 'bad' dinner once a month is not going to hurt, or ruin my weight loss. It probably won't help, but I won't put on 4kg overnight.

I am writing this more as a reminder to myself than as a message for others.

In other news, I went to the gym after work. Worked 8-5 at school and headed straight to the gym for my workout. Go me. Did 15 minutes on the weights (Upped them all this week and held a plank for 30 seconds!), 15 minutes on the bike, 10 minutes of the xtrainer (which I forgot about until now) and 10 minutes on the treadmill on high incline. 50 minutes in total, which I am happy with. Thinking about a rest day tomorrow, but will see how I feel.

Off to my planning! The joys of being a teacher :)
