I lost 3oog and gained teaching resources

Another "YAY!" morning. Stepped on the scales to discover I am down another 300g, which gives me a total of 3.4kg for the month. I wonder if I can do another 600g by the 28th, to give me 4kg in 4 weeks...? Thats my goal, but any loss is good!

So I went to visit my aunt today. She has recently retired from teaching due to health issues (and she is in her 70's! She would still be teaching if she was well). When she left teaching she kept her 'essentials'; What she would need to start up a class if she was well enough to teach again. Well she has decided that day won't come, so guess who got all of her resources? There is no room left in the boot (North Americas: Trunk) of my car and my front seat is pretty full as well. There is so much stuff! Everything from books, to unit plans, to pictures for my walls. Everything. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Saves me a lot of work, time and money!

In a minute I am off to the gym to do my new strength routine with a trainer. I LOVE the YMCA! I get a free programme written for me and 2 free sessions with the trainer every 6 weeks. Pretty darn sweet! Wish me luck!

My first Sunday off in months!

I managed the shop on Sundays and Mondays, so today is my first Sunday off in a while. And I like it!

emoticonI wish it wasn't raining, because I would have loved to have walked to the Farmers Market today. But there is always next week!

emoticonSo my exercise for today is going to be my cardio programme at the gym, which is a quick 30-40 minute workout. Just have to wait until Russell uploads a new disc of Gilmore Girls onto the ipod and I am off!

emoticon I am also going to do a little teacher shopping. Just need a few bits and bobs...It is dangerous because I generally get a little out of hand and buy waaaaay more than I need!

emoticon I am down another 100g to bring my total weight loss to 3.1kg in 22 days. I would LOVE to lose 4kg in 4 weeks...I wonder if I can do it? I currently weight 84.2, which is what I weighed when I gave up last time. I WILL NOT GIVE UP THIS TIME. DO YOU HEAR ME, BOOTY? YOU ARE GONE!

emoticon I have been experiementing with eating a little more in the morning. I usually have a piece of toast with peanut butter, but the last few days I have been adding a piece of fruit as well. I feel waaaaay too full, but breakfast holds me over for longer now and I usually skip my morning snack (which is good for busy days when I don't have time to have a snack)

After yesterday and the lunch problem (what I wanted to/planned on ordering was no longer available and I had to pick on the fly) and having dessert I thought I was in for a gain. Not to be! I stepped on the scales this morning (2nd time in 2 days, gah, I shouldn't but I wanted to know!) and I am down another 200g! Thats 500g this week and a grand total of 3kg in 3 weeks! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

A spanner in the works

So I went out to lunch with a friend today. Planned ahead, picked what I wanted and estimated the calories the best I could. I got there today and they have changed their menu, and what I planned on ordering wasn't available anymore! Gah. I THINK I made a good choice anyway. I ordered the seafood pasta in tomato sauce. The portion was huge so I only ate the seafood and 1/3 - 1/2 of the pasta. Then we split a dessert, which I had planned on doing. I think I did well? Who knows! I do know that I have only had dessert twice (including today) in the past 19 days, so dessert today isn't going to hurt me. And I planned it! But I still feel bad for 'cheating' on my non-diet. Gah. Stoopid thoughts in my head.

I skipped the gym today as well. I was supposed to meet the trainer, but since we ate lunch later than planned I ended up being still full by the time my session rolled around, so I have postponed until tomorrow. And then I took a 2 hour nap. Must have needed the sleep since I hardly ever nap during the day! I have worked out the past 3 days so I was due for a day off anyways. Off to the gym I go tomorrow!

Also, I get to go into school on Monday. Eeeeeeek!! AND my world map that I ordered arrived yesterday! My 'theme' is "Where am I? And where am I from?" in an attempt to have a culturally aware and inclusive environment. That means lots of maps, kiwiana and if the kids want to have something on the wall that is unique to where they are from they will be welcome to bring it and I will put it on the wall. So excited to get in there and start setting up!!

    Your theme sounds fun! Kids should enjoy sharing their things about what makes them unique. Have fun setting up the classroom. Always love the enthusiasm of a new teacher! Don't let it fade.

So I went slightly over my calories yesterday (lunch out + chocolate treat for dessert) and thought I would have gained. Luckily for me I actually LOST another 300g, bringing my yearly total to 2.8kg (just over 6 pounds). Gotta be happy with that!

However, it got me thinking: Everytime I go over my calories I lose weight the next day, so, maybe I am not eating enough normally? I try to stick around the 1400-1500 mark, but maybe I should experiement with having another small snack and sit around the 1600 mark? Maybe my body needs a few more calories than spark calculates? I'm gonna try it and see what happens, especially on the days I exercise!

In other news I went for a walk around the block with a few running intervals yesterday. Just a minute or two here and there. It was freakin' hot though, and I came back looking like a tomato! Maybe I should leave the walks until later in the evening when it is cooler.

Today I am having lunch with a friend. I already know what I am having! I'm going to have the seafood salad, and if she wants to split a dessert then I'm gonna go for it! Later this afternoon I have an appointment at the gym for my cardio programme run through with a trainer. Basically I do the programme and let him know what I think. Should be interesting!

    Hooray for the scale moving on down! Sure enough, you may need to eat a little more.

When I get hot during a workout I get red as a tomato as well. With my light colored hair and my bright red face, I look crazy!
