Need more protein

Monday, January 02, 2012

Breakfast: Fruit smoothie (Frozen blue, black, straw and cran berries, grapes, tinned peaches, chilled apricot tea, splash of cran juice. Forgot the spinach. Not sweet enough, will add a little apple juice next time)

Breakfast 2: Soy mocha

Snack: Orange

Lunch: Potato and leek soup with 2 bread rolls (oooooh I loooove me some bread)

Snack: Fruit string, dried apple (yummy, mental note to buy more)

Dinner: Beef snitzel, steamed potato, corn and gravy

Dessert: 2 cupcakes...Should have just had the one.

I was really hungry today, so I am thinking I needed more protein. Will eat more meat tomorrow.

Ipod is charging, new songs are downloading, specifically those from the Greys Musical episode. I am in love with that episode. Anyways, hopefully that will get my butt outside tomorrow. That and the fact that the cyclone is moving away! YAY!

Good job! Protein can be such a problem for me as well, so I feel your pain!

It's amazing what you can sneak spinach into :-) What calories are you consuming - it doesn't seem like you are having much?? Sounds nice, tho'!

Day One - Again

Sunday, January 01, 2012

What I wanted for breakfast = Pancakes
What I had for breakfast = Banana

What I wanted for lunch = Yum Cha
What I had for lunch = Yum Cha (steamed items only, and ate about half of usual)

What I wanted for snack = Frosting
What I ate for snack = Orange (and a bit of frosting, if I am honest)

What the family had for dinner = Greasy, nasty fish and chips
What I had for dinner = Homemade pizza (split pita, hummus, smoked chicken and goats feta) and a side of baby spinach and balsamic.

What I want for dessert = Boozy new years cupcake
What I am having for dessert = Boozy new years cupcake. If cupcakes are wrong, I don't wanna be right!

I was planning on going for a walk but it rained all day emoticon Try again tomorrow, but I think I made a good start. I also went shopping and purchased lots of fruit and veggies, as well as other healthy lunch and snack options. Yummy, yummy!

New year, new attitude

You had a really good day 1!

I'm smiling at you wanting frosting, but having an orange...and where you say, "If cupcakes are wrong, I don't wanna be right!"

New years resolutioner, party of one

Saturday, December 31, 2011

Right, here I am. On new years eve. In bed at 9pm. emoticon Party animal, right here. Honestly I never 'got' the whole new years eve celebration. Yay, we survived another year. Go us.

Anyways... I am back on the band wagon tomorrow. I have had a bad few months of exercising (although my eating was good up until 3 weeks ago) and I figured that the new year was as good a time as any to start back on the spark track.

The gym I am a member of is closed for 3 days over new years. 3 days over christmas I can understand, but new years? Don't they know that there are thousands of people like me, new years resolutioners, who need an open gym to start their weight loss/fitness journey? Apparently not. Anyways...

So the plan for tomorrow is quick and easy - Go for a walk and do some shopping to get some healthy lunches and snacks in the house. And eat breakfast. Must not skip breakfast!!!

I'm trying to re-spark too - seems that the Christmas holidays made a mess of everyone's routines. Best of luck!

I'm with you on the not making a big deal about New Year celebrations. Hubby and I don't even make a big deal about and it's the day/night we met 22 years ago. LOL

Your gym is crazy to be closed 3 days during this time. They could be missing out on signing up many new members!

The festive season

Sunday, December 11, 2011

The tree is up and decorated. Mum and I did it yesterday, with christmas caroles playing.

I love this time of year. My birthday is in 3 days, mum's is in 4 days, graduation in 5 days and then christmas in 14 days. Busy, busy over here!

Exercise isn't happening much. After I have been on my feet all day the last thing I want to do it walk or run around.

I'll be popping in and out. Seeya when I see ya!
