M - 30 minutes water walking after the shrink (1 hour boxing class)
T - Spinning (Spinning)
W - Boxing (Boxing)
T - Spinning (Spinning)
F- Rest ( Running around after 28 children calling "Miss, Miss, I need help!)
S - Walk (1.5 hour walk with Caz and Charlie)
S - Rest (Rest/work)

Look how well I did. I deserve a medal or a star or something else as a reward.

This week

M - Boxing
T - Spinning
W - Boxing
T - Spinning
F- Rest
S - Walk
S - Rest

2 girls, a dog and a 5K walk

The title says it all.

These girls

and this dog

Went on a 5K walk. A looooooong hilly walk. That took an hour and a half. Did I mention hills? The dog had his first experience with water too. Our walk took us past a little beach so we let him off the lead to see what he would do. In he dove. Fearless!

According to spark I burned over 300 calories. Not bad for a nice walk with a friend! The weather has just packed in, but at least it held off for our walk!

I spunned my little heart out

Yes, spunned. I am starting to speak like the children I teach.

Moving on.

I went hard tonight! I'm very proud of myself! Despite an annoying asthmatic cough and a very sore wrist (it popped super loud in the car yesterday) I had a great class and really upped my resistance. AND I didn't stop once! Not even just once for a second. That's a first for me! This class also went really fast since the instructor had a good, varied programme for us.

Today at school Miss Bubble sent 5 children to the principal and 3 children to morning tea and lunch time time out. I meant busines today and after they realised that I wasn't putting up with them anymore most of them stopped their bad behaviour, except one girl who I have had removed from my class for the rest of the week (which is one day, but still). Hopefully tomorrow will be better. As a student teacher I don't want anyone to think I can't handle the class I have, but honestly, they are tough. So the principal talked to me and told me that I SHOULD be sending more children to here, and they teachers do it all the time. That made me feel better, so I went for it today. Hopefully the children will remember that and be good tomorrow.

Off to plan...and shower and eat.

You should have a chat with my sis - KACINTIA - she is a BT and I'm sure she would commiserate about being a student teacher - she may even have some tips!!

    Good for you. You do have to let them know you mean business. Once they understand that then you can all enjoy the class. Great Job. Awesome on the spinning, I tried it once and couldn't walk right for 3 days so I have decided running is my thing. Blaze On!!!

Today at boxing I was paired up with someone I had never met before. No prob. She SUCKED as a pad holder and didn't even look when punching, but that is besides the point. She said to me...

"So, is this your first class?".

Skrew you boxing lady.

The reason I sucked today is because YOU were a crappy partner!! You didn't put any power behind the pads, and you stepped away the the last minute so I missed all the time.

The reason why I only do half as many sit ups and push ups as the others is because that is THE BEST I can do! I'm not a hardcore superwoman and that is OK!

Ticked off, party of one!

  I have never taken a boxing class but it sounds like she sucks! I hate when people think they are better than you. Don't let it get to you. Just know that you are doing your best and that is all that matters. (And make sure you don't get paired with her again! haha)

Sticking to the plan

So far this week I have been sticking to the plan.


Boxing last night was great. I was a little late but just jumped right in. I went really hard and got a few comments about how powerful my punches were and how experienced I seemed. 6 months ago I had never been in a boxing class in my life, so its nice to get compliments!

Spinning tonight. I wasn't really feelin' it but I still put in a lot of effort. I didn't have the resistance as high as usual and I kinda plodded along but I was tired and smelly by the end of it so I still call it a win. Thats the nice thing about spinning, it is entirely your workout! If you need to turn down the resistance then you can, and no one has to know! I like that.

Tomorrow is boxing, then spinning again on Thursday!

I am thinking about starting an exercise streak. Even a 10 minute walk would count! I have noticed that if I take a day off it is soooo hard to get back into it again. Maybe have 5 'workout' days and 2 light days would work? I know rest is important, but I would make it active rest instead of just sitting my ass on the couch all day. Thoughts?

ETA: Just as a side note: I have been eating like I have worms today. Seriously. I snacked through the morning block (Crackers, my antibiotics make me sick to my stomach!), had morning tea, had lunch, afternoon tea, snack before workout, dinner, dessert. Just grazing all day long! I think I am close enough to my calories so I'm not worried, but man I ate a lot of food today!!

    Your muscles do need to rest and repair, I'm with Dara on the swimming. You can aqua jog rooly slowly, think of the stretching and relaxing benefits not the resistance work in the water. And a day off with maybe just a dawdly walk?

    I'm a grazer most days, too. It's not a bad thing if you make sure that you have good things to graze on-- it's weird how much fresh veg you can eat before reaching even 100 calories! It does feel like a ton of food when you're eating the right things!

    Sometimes I have days like that too. If it's not that time of the month then it's just your metabolism revving up because you have been working out so much! I think the 2 light days is a great idea, just go for a nice walk or maybe a swim, something really easy, possibly even yoga too if it's your thing.
