No excuses! Day Two

It is 7.30am and I have already been for a 4km walk, stubbed by toe on musical instruments and had a fight with my boyfriend. I'm like the army, more done before 9am then everyone else does all day!

I got up at 6am. Ouch. Especially because I didn't get to sleep until after 11. But, no excuses, I got up and went for a 4km walk. I tried running intervals and I went well and felt fantastic until I got a pain in my upper thigh/butt area. It hurt so I stopped. I was bummed because apart from that running felt fine. I streched the muscle and tried to run again but the same thing happened. It wasn't an unconfortable hurt, it was a serious pain and I didn't want to risk hurting myself. I have a doctors appointment next week, so I'll ask about it then.

I have put my foot down and told the boyfriend that I'm getting running shoes. My $30 shoes are causing me too much pain. I have plasters all over my feet to support my feet. So next pay I'm getting shoes :) Running shoes and new work shoes. I'm very bad about spending money on myself. I always feel like there is a better thing to spend the money on. So this will be very hard for me, spending a large amount of money on myself!

Thus far very successful.

I got up at 9am and went for a 6km/75 minute walk before work. Then worked on my poor tired legs for 3.5 hours, which wasn't a smart idea. But I exercised and I feel good about it.

Tomorrow will be more of the same, except I have to get up at 6! I will aim for 4km tomorrow, which is around a 45 minute walk.

My eating has been good, and I should be within my ranges today.

In other news, I have quinoa. Not very popular here, and very expensive. I only have some because my MIL gave me a bag. I'm going to have some with dinner tonight, see how we go! It seems to be very versatile so I should have some fun experiementing. Kinda high in calories, but they are good calories, right?

    Ooh I just bought quinoa yesterday at the grocery store; Spark has some great looking recipes that I can't wait to try!

A week of no excuses starts...tomorrow!

Well its 11pm here, so I'm about to go to bed. But I have decided to really make progress this week I need to cut the excuses.

I WILL walk 6 days this week. Raining? Do LTT or a couple of SP videos. Use an unbrella if it is just spitting. Buy a raincoat suitable for walking. Solve the problem, don't let it be an excuse not to exercise! I WILL be having a rest day because I believe that they are good for the mind and body. Probably Thursday because its midweek and its my busiest day. Other then that, no excuses, I will be moooooving my booty.

I will stop mindlessly snacking in the evenings. I will use the suggestion given to me by Daracox and start drinking herbal tea again. If I sweeten the herbal tea with honey it will fix my sweet cravings in less calories. And I have a yummy strawberry and kiwifruit tea that I haven't had in a while. Maybe a new tea flavour could be one of my 'rewards', since I tend to like the expensive ones. They are usually $10 a bag!

I will loose .7 of a kg this week. Or try my very best to get there. I have a doctors appointment next week and I want to be able to show that I have lost weight since my last visit because last time I was told to start loosing weight. If I can be around 82, so 3kg lost, I will be happy!

No excuses people. Its cold and raining won't cut it anymore! I'm tired and lazy are also not allowed! Anyone else want to join me for a week of no excuses?

Dinner out and maintaining

Dinner out with some success!

I split my entree with my sister and I only ate half of my main (grilled steak, mash and salad) and had the rest packed up for lunch or dinner today. I also got the sauce (garlic butter) on the side. I spread a little on top and it was plenty. I did have a dessert. I managed to get the boyfriend to have a few bites, but for the most part I ate it and enjoyed. I savoured it, didn't scoff and I enjoyed having dessert because I wasn't stuffed from dinner because I only ate half of everything. The boyfriend was drinking in the bar part of the restaurant we went to, and he got a wee bit drunky. Enter Burger King stop. Out of habit I got a chocolate pie. But I got home and put it in the fridge because I didn't really want it, I just ordered it because I'm used to ordering even if I'm not hungry.

I maintained this week. I'm still at 82.7. I'm a little disapointed that I wasted a week, I could have lost this week if I tried, but at least I didn't gain. That would leave me with more to loose. Also, if we look at it, I've lost 5lb in 4 weeks. Lets be glass half full and look at all the bright sides.

By next Sunday I would like to be at 82kg. This is my goal for the week, to loose .7 of a kg or a pound and a half. And I need to get my evening eating under control! Lets do this people!

    Aww, don't think of the week as wasted! You maintained, that's great! Plus, look at all the progress you made in terms of making healthier choices for yourself. That is definitely not time wasted, you're building a healthier future!

    Good idea Daracox! I have some loose leaf herbal tea that I've been meaning to drink, so I'll have some of that in the evenings. Yummy and warm on the cold nights! And thanks for your positive comments!

    Eating out is one of my biggest weaknesses, so congrats on your success! Sometimes you totally have to have dessert! Also good for you for not eating the chocolate pie just out of habit as well. It's proof that you are more conscious of your eating. 5 lbs in 4 weeks is great progress! Buckle down and I'm sure you will lose that .7 kg this week. Drink tea in the evenings, it keeps you busy and full! emoticon
