Dragged my ass to the gym

I didn't want to go. Like REALLY didn't want to go. I'm tired, feel a cold coming on and had a bad day at school. But I had to go and pay for my spinning (Tues and Thurs). Once I was there I just got changed and made myself go to the class. I was literally falling asleep beforehand, and I didn't have a great workout, but I had a workout and that is better than nothing!

I paid for my spinning for the week (it is $2 per time on top of the membership) so I am commited to those workouts. No one likes loosing money, even if it is only $2!

My friend cancelled on me for water walking on Wednesday night. No biggie, I'll live. Next week!

Eating today was quite good. I had a few lollies (candy, sweets) at lunchtime because I was dragging. I needed the sugar rush! I also had some sorbet for dessert. But overall I am pleased.

    LOL -- I laugh because yesterday I, too, was LITERALLY falling asleep before I worked out. I could have put my head down on the sidewalk and SLEPT THERE instead of moving my feet in a forward, alternating motion. I'm amazed that I somehow fought the desire to conk out and did indeed get a workout in . Go us!! emoticon

13 days to go!!!!

BUT that means only 11 days to go until 2 assignments and my portfolio are due. So much work, so little time!

There are so many things that could go wrong with this trip, so travel insurance is a must. And a pain!

Russell had a kidney transplant 7 years ago so he needs special approval for travel insurance. He also had heart troubles. It took the insurance company 2 weeks to send him (via email!!) the forms to fill out for his special approval and they have just told him that he needs a doctor to sign off on his trip (stating that he is in good health). If we had known that sooner he could have gotten that done during his routine check ups. Because they were late sending the forms through we have to pay more money for Russell to see his doctor again! Frustrating!

A volcano in Chile exploded (or something similar) and the ash cloud is going to muck up NZ air space for at least a week. That could stick around and put a large spanner in the works.

We also have NO idea how much it is going to cost. We just know it will be more because of Russell. Travelling is fun, but it can be a pain.

I lost my digital camera charger, so I just got a new digital camera. Mine was 5 years old, it was time.

I found Russells gel bike seat cover while looking for the charger. Hopefully it fits on the spinning bike seats and hopefully it will help to save my butt. Spinning if fun, a sore but afterwards is not!

I an attempt to look awesome on my holiday I am going to really try to watch my eating the next 2 weeks. I have the exercise sorted, but the eating is a little out of hand!

    Before you put any food in your mouth, think of how awesome you want to look and feel on holiday! Will this food hurt of help my mission?

Hope the ash cloud dissipates/blows away from you so as not to mess up your travel plans.

Second spinning class

Second spinning class tonight. It went OK. My asthma made a guest appearance but I puffered up and pressed on! I got a bike with a squeak and it was embarrassingly loud. I told my instructor that it was dying. He insisted it was telling me to work harder. I told him if that was the case, it could bite my butt!

Mum's surgery went well. She got to keep the hardware that she had taken out, so it is sitting in a jar next to her bed. I am taking it for news on Monday, I think the kids will get a kick out of it!

I was hanging out with my mama (she is bed bound) and she said "How much weight have you lost now? It must be quite a bit! I am really noticing your shape changing!" SWEET!

    I'm so glad you are into Spinning now! I'm a spinning instructor and I love it! It takes a little bit to get used to the seat and stuff but it's an adrenaline rush like no other! If the seat really bugs you you can get a padded seat cover or you can buy spinning shorts that have a padded bottom.

Glad to hear your mom's surgery went well.

Quick note

Hi all.

Just a quick note to say howdy. Busy few days coming up so I might not be on!

Did a double workout today, my Wednesday usual. All good, had a banana in transit which helped the hungry a lot!

I fit into a pair of jeans that I have never been able to fit into today. They were $12, I figured I would shrink into them. AND I did! Go me!!!

My Mama is having surgery tomorrow. She is having pins and plates taken out of her ankle and having her tendon fixed. She broke it 3 years ago and all the hardware has got to go!!! It is just a day thing, she will be home tomorrow night, but won't be mobile for a while.

Friday my friend from Wellington is flying up for the night. I get a few hours with her on Friday night. Taking her out to dinner and Auckland sight seeing.

Saturday and Sunday I have work, assignments and helping out a bit more around the house because mum is out of action.

Whew, busy few days!

Had my evaluation at school today. I passed! Yay! A good day all around!

Double, double

Not a double cheese burger.

Not a double deluxe.

Double work outs.

I already do double workouts on Wednesdays. I go to my boxing class for an hour and then I meet my friend for a jaw workout...I mean water walking for an hour. I handle that well, apart from being really hungry if I don't have a small snack inbetween.

So, I am thinking of making more of my workouts doubles. This would be my timetable if I decided to go ahead.

M - Boxing (1hour)
T - Morning - Spinning (1hour) Evening - Pump (1hour)
W - Boxing (1hour) Water Walking (1hour) Spa sitting (30 minutes emoticon)
T - Off
F - Off
S - Boxing (1hour) Spinning (1hour)
S - Off

This would bring me to 7 hours of working out a week, over 4 days. I can't do Thursday, Friday or Sunday because I work those days and miss all the classes (plus I can't be bothered working out after work!)

So, this that is my new plan. Hopefully since I have been working up to this by taking more classes I will be able to cope. If not I will scale back.

    Good luck, though honestly, you might find you have to scale back. I finally met Raspberryberet in person last night (she came to one of my shows! TOTALLY surprised me -- we've been Spark friends for about 8 months, and this was the first time we'd met face to face!), and we talked for ages, and she, being a marathon runner, is really into workout strategy and philosophy, and she CHIDED me (chid me? chode me?) on my reluctance to pace myself and vary the intensity of my workouts. She said that from what she hears of my exercise schedule, I'm acting like an endurance athlete without giving myself the down time of an endurance athlete, and that might be why I'm getting persistent shin splints and back pain. She kept repeating that muscles really need down time, and that I should stop letting my workouts be random and start actually planning when I do increases in minutes and difficulty instead of doing my usual "Oh whatever, I'll just stay on this treadmill a bunch more minutes, la la la!". SO - just my two cents - if you start getting aches and pains and feeling fatigued, pull back. emoticon
