May goal review

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

I'll start by saying that i wrote a hugly long and interesting blog post the other night. I pressed post and my internet cut out and sparkpeople ate my post. And I can't be bothered typing it again. Pat on the back for effort?

I have done 2 days of full control and gotten good reviews for both days. Full control for the rest of the placement, me thinks!

My May goals were

Here are my new goals for this month!

Fitness Goals:

emoticon Do 10 tricep dips in a row - Haven't tried, to be honest! Need to work on this during free choice in boxing

emoticon Kick my workouts up to 4 times a week - Boxing 3 times per week, pools once a week!

emoticon Do 5 pushups in a row (girly ones) - Nearly ready to try real ones

emoticon Track 6 days per week

emoticon Only eat out once per fortnight - I like dining out, its my hobby. Hard to change!

Weight Goal:

emoticon Loose 5 kg (but be happy with anything!) - To be honest I haven't gotten on a scale in a while. Might check tomorrow, but don't think I have lost anything

Financial Goals:

emoticon Save enough for my holiday! - OK, some went on the credit card, but I have a plan to pay it off very quickly and so far I am sticking to it!

School Goals:

emoticon Finish all my assignments - And so far I have passed them all

emoticon Have fun on placement (3 weeks to go!) - Starting to have more fun now that I am getting more teaching time

I think I'm ready to start running again...

Friday, May 27, 2011

Every Saturday I go to a boxing class that involves a lot of runnning. We probably run just over a KM in total and I manage to keep up. My fitness has improved a lot, and I have been given the all clear to start running again. So I'm going to try it again! Stay tuned as to when, but probably on a Thurday night after school. MUST charge my ipod. And get a new itunes card. Once I got into the groove of it I did enjoy running and I miss my awesome legs (seriously, they were amazing!) I won't be silly about it, I will be walk/jogging.

Exercise has been good. Skipped my pump class on Tuesday. I was tired, couch was comfy. Wednesday I only did 40 minutes in the pool instead of an hour because it was freezing! After 40 minutes I still hadn't warmed up, so I moved into the beautiful spa pool. Heaven.

Eating has been average, but not awful.

School has been busy, I have so much to do! I just keep thinking about my holiday!

Wow, you are amazing! I can feel the stamina radiating out of this post. Ohhhh, to be young again... :)

I WISH so badly that I could say I was ready to try running again. It FEELS like I should be able to run. My walking speed is way up there...my thighs barely even rub together anymore (in fact, my already-insane body-builder-style leg muscles now look like an anatomy illustration), I feel light and free most of the time when I'm walking, like it's really not even that much of an effort to be in a state of motion, and I can go HUGE distances without getting tired, winded or all that uncomfortable. HOWEVER, when I kick that fast walk up to running...all of that changes! Suddenly I feel like this gigantic anvil lumbering across the pavement (or treadmill) -- my hips get all cramped and tight, my neck shrinks down into my shoulders, and my back slips down into my hips, and I hunch over, and become this frickin' BOWLING BALL, rolling slowly along in pain. It's like walking and running are two ENTIRELY different things to my body. Every time I try to run I get so discouraged by how lousy it feels, I just stop, and go back to walking. Don't know what to do about that.

Hey hey, its....Monday!

Monday, May 23, 2011

So I had my first day at school today! It was awesomesauce. My associate teacher is really nice (and funny!) and the kids are angels! I am looking forward to teaching them tomorrow. Just doing two group lessons tomorrow, but I am full control as of next Monday! Yeehaa!

I was mainly good at school, but I did have 3 mini sausage rolls from the staff shared lunch. Would be rude not to, really. They were only tiny, a bite. I also did duty, so I moved. It wasn't exercise, but it was movement.

I was sooooo tired after school but I dragged myself to boxing. I knew I would feel so much better once I was there, and I would regret not going. Putting on your shoes is the hardest part! I didn't give 100%, more like 80%, but I went and put in more effort than I really felt like putting in.

Tomorrow is muscle max aka pump class. I hate this class, but love it at the same time. It makes me hurt, a lot, but I know it is doing me good.

And nothing is really interesting. I'm having tuna and rice for lunch tomorrow... And teaching reading and maths. Oh and I have an awesome art project starting Thursday. I will take pictures and share for all the teachers who may be interested! Or parents, you could do it with you kids, as long as you are paint friendly!

Thats all folks!
