The good and the bad

The bad - I think I ate over my calories today...I haven't checked but my rough estimation puts me over. Oh noes! Off to track!

Wait, stop the presses, I have an update. I tracked and I was not over my calories!!!!!!!

The good - I kicked ass in boxing today! emoticon

I was really mad at my boss for calling me in on my only day off when I am already working 2 more shifts than usual without being asked. So I took it out on the lovely girl I partnered up with, or more specifically the pads she was holding. I even got praise from the teacher. Go me

I have decided to kick it up to 2 boxing classes a week, starting after Easter weekend (mainly because that is the next time I am free to go an extra class). I'll probably go on Wednesday nights because that suits me best. I am loooooving boxing, it is such good stress relief and the class is really fun and supportive.

Today was a good day, tomorrow will be a better one!!!

My goals for the day

Today will be busy, so hopefully by writing things down I will remember everything and get it all done!!

By 10am - Finish my languages assignment. Nearly done!

By 11am - Go to the supermarket to get tonights dinner ingredients

By 12pm - Be home from visiting my Grandad. I'm taking him a plate of last nights roast since he doesn't like leaving his house. He can have it for his lunch :)

By 1pm - Be doing my research assignment

By 4pm - Research assignment done or nearly done

By 5pm - Be at boxing class

By 7pm - Have a delicious dinner on the table

Whew! Busy day. That happens when my only real day off is a Monday, gotta fit everything in!

emoticon My pants are fitting better! It really is the first sign of good things happening!

emoticon I have eaten breakfast everyday this week! The temptation to skip it is strong but I keep going with my toast and fruit!

emoticon I'm eating at least 2 servings of veggies a day! Benefit of living with my mother is that she stll makes me eat my veggies

emoticon I only went to two classes this week (my goal is 3) but I'm OK with it. I'll go to 3-4 next week!

emoticon I have been sleeping waaaaaay better since exercising and eating better. Usually a solid 8-9 hours! That is pretty weird for me!

    Way to go girlfriend..You rock!! I m still hanging around. Glad things are going well for you..Got a run tomorrow..Had my knee MRI today, so hopefully will know soon what treatment is needed to get rid of it..the pain, i mean, not the knee :-)

Random thoughts for Saturday

Morning all (or evening, or afternoon, and for many of you, happy Friday!)

Just some random bits that I want to blog but that don't really warrent a whole post.

I pin pointed where I ate a lot of my calories, breakfast! I have peanut butter on toast most mornings, and I love it so. But, 400 calories for peanut butter on toast? No thanks! So now I only have one slice instead of 2 and I have fruit on the side. I don't even miss the second piece of toast and it is nice to get in a serving or 2 of fruit so early in the day. And my calories have been cut by 25%, allowing me to eat an afternoon snack, which stops me over indulging at dinner. Calorie shuffling!

I like going to the gym, but I don't think I like spinning class, since I have skipped 2 this week. I am going to try and get up an hour earlier and go to the boxing class instead. I want to do a class on Saturday and it makes more sense for it to be one that I like and therefore will go to. I know spinning is good exercise but that alone is not making me want to go!!

Next Saturday I am working, and I think the Saturday after as well. My boss is lovely but fully takes advantage of my good nature and work ethic and sticks me with extra shifts all the time. I have plans for Saturdays, like the gym and uni work, my life isn't all about my job!

The manderin I am eating is rather dry.

Russell and I are toying with the idea of going on holiday in July. To Rarotonga. We are going to see how our finances pan out and if we can save enough for the flights and accommodation ($2000!) in the next month, as well as pay his mum back and some of what we owe his dad, then we will book the trip and work on saving spending money and food money. I need a holiday and something to look forward to and I think a week in Raro might just do the trick! Wish me luck and many saving vibes! Luckily Russell gets paid for a few of his jobs in lump sums, so we should have nearly all of what we need coming in in the next few weeks. I'm not doing the happy dance yet, more of a happy shuffle.

And I'll leave you with that. I have 2 super hard assignments calling my name and I should probably get going on them. I want to go hard today and get them nearly done. I can dooooo it!

    Raro is in the Cook Islands, about a 4 hour flight from Auckland. And it looks stunning. And there is NOTHING there but a beach. Oh yeah and the hotel we are looking at has a swim up bar.

    Good job on shuffling the calories. I usually just do 1 piece of toast if I'm having toast for breakfast, but decided today to have 2 because I was hungry and I could hardly stomach the second piece.

You certainly do need some Saturdays off from work. Make sure you get some!

I wouldn't go to spin either if I didn't enjoy it. Exercise should not be something you dread, so therefore you're smart for choosing something else to do!

Fingers, toes, arms, legs, eyes crossed that you get to go on holiday. I'm going to Google Rarotonga to see where it is and no doubt want to go there myself!

Dinner out

I ate dinner out. I got the healthiest thing on the menu, a burger. Since it was a pub/bar I am absolutly telling the truth. I removed the cheese and avocado since they were the highest calorie fillings. I also removed the capsicum, but thats because its nasty. I ate 4-5 fat chips that came with it. I also didn't eat all of the burger, I left a lot of the bread.

My mother in law is evil, in the best kind of way, and got me a brownie for dessert. I ate it, and savoured and enjoyed every bite.

I did, however, turn down the boss's offer to shout hot cross buns for afternoon tea! I knew I was eating dinner out so I saved the calories for something more worthwhile.

Dinner was with my parents, my mother in law and her 2 teacher friends at the bar where Russell is playing tonight. He loves playing gigs, he lights up like a kid at christmas when he is playing. He won't be home until the weeeeee hours, so its just me and the cat for the evening.

I'm exhusted, so night night sparkworld!

    Yes, but bar burgers are the best!! As far as the avocado, it is very healthy if salt is not loaded on it..good cholesterol!! However, I think if I knew somebody had hot cross buns at Easter time, I would jump over the brownie to get them, if they are homemade!!! You were a good girl for being aware of how to "health-up" bar food!!
