I need a virtual high five

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Today I participated in a student survery for my uni. The thank you was free coffee and muffins. AND I DIDN'T HAVE ANY!!!!

I drank my water and ate my banana and was a good girl.

So please high 5 me, because we all need a little validation sometimes, don't we?!

Edited to add: Also today I soooooo wanted a KFC Zinger burger. Not for the taste, but the texture. Soft bun, creamy mayo, crunchy patty, oh boy. I didn't have one though!!!!!

Big test for me today and I think I passed with flying colours!

FINALLY seeing some results

Monday, April 11, 2011

I tracked everyday last week. I stayed within my calories 6/7 days (I'm counting the day I went over by 10cal as a win, it was only 10!) and I accepted the one day I went over my calories and moved on. I went to the gym 4 times in 2 weeks and I went again last night. I am noticing I am less sore after boxing now, which means I am getting stronger and my body is getting used to it. Will have to start putting more effort in!

I stepped on the scale this morning and it said 85.6. Last time I weighed (a few days ago) it said 86.6. I have seen this number before during a fluctuation but I am hoping that this time it is a real loss.

And I'd just like you all to join me in an international "screw you" to my workmate who laughed at the thought of me going to the gym and then told me that the kilo I have lost is pathetic and I should be losing way more than that, like the people on The Biggest Loser. He, my friends, is the biggest loser in this situation!!!!

Your co-worker clearly has no idea what he's talking about. Don't let idiotic people like him get you down. It sounds like you accomplished a lot these last couple of weeks and you should be proud of yourself.

Go you for gym-going and sticking to your guns!

"Screw you, rude workmate!"

I just read a blog by YOOVIE about a person being downright mean about weight loss, too. Its a little mind-numbing that anyone could possibly think its all right to bring someone down like that.

My sister in law had a boyfriend who one night, while they were eating dinner, pointed at her plate and said, "You know, baby, that's why your jeans aren't the size you want them to be." It was the only time she was going to eat that day, because she already thought she was fat at about 105 lbs and felt guilty every time she ate, and they were having baked chicken, rice, and vegetables. I swear I've never wanted to punch someone more in my life than when she told me he'd done that and I sometimes wonder why I didn't.

Great job with all the changes you're implementing! I'd bet that 1 kg drop is for real!

Umm, your workmate is an asshat...an ill informed asshat at that!

Your workmate needs to stop watching the Biggest Loser !!! People do NOT lose dramatic amounts of weight in a week. A safe weekly weight loss would be 1-2 pounds or .5 to 1 kilo, roughly. So, you are doing this the right way.

Tell your busy body workmate that the faster a person takes off the weight, the faster it packs back on. You're taking it off slowly, so it will stay off.

Good for you !!!

WHY do people think it is OKAY to be derogatory towards others like that?!?!? I am writing a blog THIS VERY MINUTE about a guy whom I've been getting close to (or so I thought!) who has done something similar to me twice now, and it BLOWS MY MIND. I would NEVER denigrate someone's efforts at health, fitness, motion, strength, personal betterment, etcetera....how can anyone justify that kind of *sshole behavior?!?

So glad you're giving him a big "screw you", because that is the correct response.

The good and the bad

Monday, April 11, 2011

The bad - I think I ate over my calories today...I haven't checked but my rough estimation puts me over. Oh noes! Off to track!

Wait, stop the presses, I have an update. I tracked and I was not over my calories!!!!!!!

The good - I kicked ass in boxing today! emoticon

I was really mad at my boss for calling me in on my only day off when I am already working 2 more shifts than usual without being asked. So I took it out on the lovely girl I partnered up with, or more specifically the pads she was holding. I even got praise from the teacher. Go me

I have decided to kick it up to 2 boxing classes a week, starting after Easter weekend (mainly because that is the next time I am free to go an extra class). I'll probably go on Wednesday nights because that suits me best. I am loooooving boxing, it is such good stress relief and the class is really fun and supportive.

Today was a good day, tomorrow will be a better one!!!

5 quick things

Saturday, April 09, 2011

emoticon My pants are fitting better! It really is the first sign of good things happening!

emoticon I have eaten breakfast everyday this week! The temptation to skip it is strong but I keep going with my toast and fruit!

emoticon I'm eating at least 2 servings of veggies a day! Benefit of living with my mother is that she stll makes me eat my veggies

emoticon I only went to two classes this week (my goal is 3) but I'm OK with it. I'll go to 3-4 next week!

emoticon I have been sleeping waaaaaay better since exercising and eating better. Usually a solid 8-9 hours! That is pretty weird for me!
