Define success

Thursday, October 14, 2010

The list of popular posts today included one about motivation when you have not had any success.

It got me thinking.

Define success.

Should we measure success by what the scales tell us? If so, I've failed.

Should we measure it by how our clothes feel? I've had some success, noting some of my clothes are fitting better.

Should success be measured by an increase in fitness levels? I would succeed in this instance.

Should success be measured on how good we feel? How our lives are better? How we are improving ourselves a little more everyday?

How do you define success? What makes you successful?

Look and you will find that there is something that you have succeeded at!

Success is doing something that is good for me even when I don't feel like it. Working out when I am tired. Not indulging when I feel the urge. Not letting anyone else define my success.

A few things that pop to mind:
Success is when I can fit into smaller clothing.
Success is when I don't hate how I look in the mirror, or more importantly *liking* what I see in the mirror.
Success is when I keep plugging away even through difficult times.

That's the nice thing about defining success. It can be defined in so many different ways and in so many different senarios.
As long as a person continues to make an effort in achieving their goals, no matter what they are...That is success!

Sunny Study

Thursday, October 14, 2010

Since it is sooooo nice outside today I figured I would study outside in the sunshine. That will make studying better!

I set my study stuff up outside

My books were stacked (looks like interesting reading, huh?)

I had my water and I was ready to study!

And I hit the books. The boring books.

I started to look like this

Then like this

On the bright side, I did get a lot of reading done and I got heaps of notes. And it was very nice outside. So I got snap happy on my studybreaks!

Back to the books!

The job interview went well. I have a second interview tomorrow, with the manager of another branch. The interviewer said he really wanted to fast track me through the interview process, so I think that is a good thing. He seemed pretty happy with my answers, so that was good. I've always been good at job interviews, I don't even get nervous because I always rock them. They are actually fun for me. But since I really want this job I was really hoping to impress.

Will let ya'll know how things go with tomorrows interview.

And yes, I say ya'll. I think in a past life I was from Alabama or somewhere.

Why I don't get much sleep

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

See what I have to deal with? I love my cats (and boyfriend) but a girls gotta have some room!

*Shortly after this pic was taken I relocated the cats, I wanna go to sleep! The boyfriend is too heavy to relocate*

On an unrelated note, I had an awesome run this afternoon. I ran when I wanted, walked when I needed, listened to some new tunes and generally just had a great time! All smiles, even when it started raining and it got really windy. I also had an escaped dog join me for a bit. He ran next to me for about .5 of a km before I asked some people walking down the street if they lived on the street and knew where the dog lived. It happened to be theirs and they were very apologetic and said he tends to be a bit of an escape artist. I didn't mind much, it was a friendly dog and he must be trained to run on a leash because he was running right next to me but never in my way. I almost offered to take him on my run with me and bring him back but I thought that might be weird so I continued on dogless. I want a doggie! But my cats would hate me, so I shall remain dogless, occationally borrowing my mother in laws silly excuse for a dog (he is half pomeranian, half poodle and all wuss).
