Dove Pink Star 5K Walk (pics)

I had a blast. Caz and I dressed up in our pink and wings.

Went to the Domain

Lined up at the starting line

Took the before photos

And we were off!

The 5K breezed by with my friend to talk to (we had heaps to catch up on). It was freezing though! It was very windy and we were in tshirts since it had been so warm in the evenings this past week. We finished our walk in an hour, which we though was pretty good. It was actually quite leisurely!

We didn't take after photos because it was dark and cold and we just wanted to get home.

I had an awesome time and Caz and I are planning next year already. We are gonna go all out with the pink (we were the tamest ones there!)

Its that time of the month (no, not my period, goal setting time!)

Except...I don't wanna.

Thusfar I have no met any weight goals, so I don't wanna set one of those.

I'm loosing inches but since I'm not measuring I have no idea how many.

My fitness is doing fine, chugging along.

So how about these goals:

emoticonWalk 2 5K walks to raise money for good causes

emoticonTry one new veggie this month

emoticonWork out at least 3 times a week, doing whatever I feel like as long as I am moving

emoticonFinish all my assignments

There! Goals set!

    Good thoughts! I am working on mine as well - managed to make it to my 50% mark - only 6 weeks left to my final goal though... May need to modify that a bit!

You know you're a sparker when...

- You need a new sports bra and a new regular bra, but only enough money for one. You buy the sports bra.

- Knowing that you only have enough money for a sports bra you still buy 2 new workout tops and a pair of workout shorts as well as the bra

- At the check out you spy a chocolate bar, read the nutrition and decide that half will fit into your calories and be a nice dessert. And you only eat half.

- You hear a song on the radio and make a mental note to get it off itunes because it has a good beat for your workout

- Your partner dreads the weekly shopping trip because it takes twice as long with you reading all the nutrition labels

- You have a great workout/eating day and you can't wait to tell your fellow sparkers all about your day

- 'Sparking' is an adjective that relates to not only being active on the site, but the fitness and healthy eating that you partake in.

- You run 7 minutes and 30 seconds straight, including up a hill and you can't wait to get home and spark about it!

Spark on everyone!

-When you go for a walk on the beach and have to write "Spark" in the sand to let everyone know what they should be doing and how much you love it! (I did that last night) ha ha emoticon

Holiday Mode

I am in holiday mode. I'm being lazy and sleeping in and its awesome.

Except I don't have time!

I have 3 assignments to finish.

I have workouts to do (haven't quite been keeping up with them...)

I have healthy meals to prepare

I have a lot of stuff to do. And yet I'm sitting on my bum, sparkin, facebookin, doing anything to avoid my assignments and working out.


I just wanna be lazy now, not in 6 weeks when the summer holidays start.

Someone light a fire under me to get me going!

    I'm in sick holiday mode. I'm all stuffy and congested and I just want to sit on my bum and spark, facebook, and play SIMS 3. I still have two calculus assignments and a physics homework due Monday, plus an online economics quiz.

I did, however, make enough chicken noodle soup for at least another day or so, and I'm trying to eat healthily since I'm obviously not up for the gym. Imagine trying to lie on my back to do an ab workout with all the gunk in my sinuses... blech.

Dear Jeans

Dear Jeans,

I only purchased you about 3 weeks ago and you are already loose. Stop it. I washed you in the hopes that you had just stretched (and we all know nothing tightens up jeans like a spin cycle and a round in the dryer), but when I put you on fresh from the washing machine and dryer you were baggy. Baggy around the thighs mainly, but a little around the waist as well. Strangely the butt still fits fine.

Now Jeans, I write this for several reasons. The first reason is that your distant cousin the scale, who also shows my weight loss progress, isn't moving. How can you be loose but the scale stay the same? Explain it to me, would you. Secondly, I just quit my job so the boyfriend and I are now living on a music teachers salary. They don't earn much. I don't have enough money to buy new jeans because you decided to go and get all baggy and loose. It's just not an expense I can afford right now.

    I just bought about seven skirts to help handle the Florida heat better (I have to walk a lot on campus) and they are ALL too loose now! How rude of our clothing not to shrink with us.

    Ahhhh my husband is in school so we're trying to live on my music teacher's salary too!! It's tough!! I hope your jeans take your advice and shrink for you! :) I've got the same thing with a non moving scale and looser pants... I guess it's good, but that number is what really makes me happy!

    What a great post! There is a group on here called the Weight Loss clothing exchange--might want to try that out. Lord knows women's plus size clothes are so ridiculously expensive.

    Psst... Donate your almost new jeans to a charity thrift, while you are there, purchase a pair another shrinking woman barely wore. Honestly, there's no need to spend a fortune on clothing as you're moving from size to size.

Embrace that your jeans that don't shrink along with you, and give them a kiss goodbye.
