Today I went food shopping. Good thing too, because we were running low on...everything!
As promised I stocked up on nibbly things for when I get nibbly in the evening. I got Special K bars, rice crackers, kiwifruit, bananas and manderins, as well as gum and sugarfree mints. I have 2 bowls full on my coffee table, one of fruit and one of the other nibblys. Yummy and convenient. I have to move to get anything bad and since I am fairly lazy I am more likely to go for what is right in front of me!
AND in the supermarket they had Maori Language Week signs everywhere, so I learned some new words. Two birds with one stone! Beef is Kau and chicken is Heihei. I didn't remember the word for lamb, which is a shame because that is what we are having for dinner! Lamb with potato and broccoli, delish!
Another problem I have is that when I get hungry I need food now. I go from zero to starving in 3.6 seconds and most of the food I have takes waaaay too long to cook so I end up making bad choices while I wait for my good choices to cook. So I purchased heat and eat meals. This is something I never, ever do but I found some with no cheese so I may as well give them a try. They are 350cal each, and the fat and sodium are reasonable to high. I don't plan on eating them everyday but they should help to get me fed if I'm in a pinch. I plan on adding veggies or a salad to them to bump the nutrition up a bit.
In other news, my walk got rained out :( I shoulda, woulda, coulda done some inside exercise, but I didn't. If it was a drizzle I would have gone anyway, but it was actually raining. I plan on doing my loooooong walk tomorrow instead if the rain stays away.
