How I plan on being a bada$$ this week

Monday - Boxing (done, boxed twice and got a great workout)
Tuesday - 6km run without stopping, ST
Wednesday - Boxing
Thursday - 5km run
Friday - ST
Saturday - Rest (marching down the main street in Auckland for a teacher protest!)
Sunday - Whenuapai 6k run!

This time next week I will be basking in post race glory. I hope. My 6k is now less than a week away, and I am ready to run it. I did a 5k last week, and I plan on doing another one today, and hopefully a 6k during the week. So I'm all set! YAY! I'm trained and I'm fit enough, I just have to keep reminding myself of that during the race! I have 2 race goals

emoticon Finish in less than 40 minutes

Two very achievable goals!

In other news, ya know the picture from yesterday where I am showing off in a tank top and shorts? Yeah, karma came and got me. I'm now wearing a long sleeved top (from Old Navy and I wish I had gotten more of them... I wonder if they ship to NZ?) and jeans. While sitting in bed covered with a duvet. Yeah. Ah well, I'm glad I got one more day in my shorts before the cooler weather hit. Truth be told I actually like cooler weather so I don't mind!

20C is just about perfect, although I like it best around 16-17C. I worked outside in my garden this morning and afternoon and didn't break a sweat at all at 16C. I like that!

    We are having a very cool spring here in NJ. Today was the first day it reached 60F and it was a beautiful day! I spent a good bit of it walking outside! Enjoy your warm autumn before winter comes!!

March recap (very late, I forgot to do it!)

Oops! Forgot to recap on my March goals. What a slacker! Here are the goals and the results

Keep maintaining around the 67kg mark (I tend to see numbers anywhere from 66kg (fluke, I think) to 68kg, depending on a lot of factors)
emoticon I bounce around between 66 and 67 most days

Work out 5 times per week (usually 2 boxing and 3 ST, but want to add running back in
emoticon I'm working out most days, and have my weekends with my boyfriend as rest days

Do a pull up without the band
emoticon I am now doing unassisted chin ups every gym session. Averaging 4, my PR was 6!

Run Round the Bays this weekend and not die (I signed up on a whim and haven't trained due to illness, work stuff, being out of town, and general laziness)
emoticon Done and done in 1h3m. I didn't die and it made me realise that I am fitter than I thought I was

Eat 5 servings of fruit and veggies every day. I'm slipping on this one so I need to get back on track!!
emoticon I started having 4 servings at school, plus my 1-2 for dinner. On track!

Today at the gym I squatted more than my body weight. No biggie emoticon I squatted 70kg (154lb) and as of this morning I weighed 66.6kg (147lb). Yep. My trainer came over to see what I was doing, and he was very impressed, as he should be emoticon

Then my trainer had an idea... He wanted me to try a 60kg (132lb) deadlift emoticon . My last deadlifts were 40kg (88lb), but he thought I was capable of more. Turns out he was right. He got the bar ready with me and stayed to watch me do it. He said if my form slipped at all we would can it and try again another time. My first try I couldn't even get it off the ground. Then he corrected my form a little and I had another go. And I did it! I couldn't believe it!! emoticon We hi-fived, it was a lovely moment. He wants me up to a body weight (or more) deadlift by next Friday.

Then he told me what my next goal was going to be: Muscle Ups

If I can do these I will declare myself the most badass person in the world.

I really like having a trainer to push me and make me do more than I ever thought I would. I don't even have to pay for PT sessions, he just designs me a program and then takes an interest when I'm at the gym.

And, as promised, pictures. Not of my achievements, although I plan on getting some, but of my new guns
