Maintainence looks good on me (with photo)

Shameless AW, I know. I love this dress, but it is a bit clingy. I got it for $14 in San Diego, so it was such a bargain. Today I felt confident enough to wear it!

Still maintaining around 67kg (fluctuating 500g either side, but for the most part I weigh 67kg).

This week (which starts tomorrow according to the spark fitness tracker) I plan on hitting the gym 5 days. 3 days of my new weights program, 2 days of boxing!

Back to the gym

And looking damn fine if I do say so myself.

I felt fine once I got to the gym, apart from some abdomen pain while running, which I am blaming on the amount of coughing I have been doing. I'm hoping that is all it is, since I am running Round the Bays in, oh, 2 weeks. Just a casual 8.5km, I'm sure I'll be fine. Should probably do some more running...

I got my new strength program today. My trainer is trying to kill me. He tells me I have an "advanced" program; His words, not mine. I have

All 2 sets of 8-10 reps
Squats - 40kg
Deadlifts - 20kg
Walking lunges - BW
Kettlebell Clean and Jerk - 12kg
Kettlebell Swings - 12kg
Shrug/Squat/Press - 22kg
Pull ups - Band and BW
Med ball twists, V ups

Yeah, I only did one set of everything and I already hurt. Sunday night won't be fun. But, it hurts so good, and I love it!

Looking forward to getting into my new program, and getting back into a regular gym routine after all my breaks!

Day 6 of no working out :(

I'm sick. Was bound to happen. When you're stuck in a room with 27 germ factories for 30 hours a week no amount of hand sanitiser in the world will save you.

I was fine for most of the weekend (thank goodness) so I got to have a good time with my boyfriend. I was unwell on Saturday night, but he got my some pain killers for my headache and I was OK by morning. On Monday afternoon my voice started to go and I woke up on Tuesday with no voice at all. It is coming back today, but if I talk too much it leaves again. Apart from the voice thing and a cough I feel fine, which is the annoying part. However, I won't go to the gym with a cough like this. It's not fair for me to be coughing my germs everywhere. Even if I do try to cover my mouth and wipe down everything I touch I won't get everything. I will try for Friday, I should be back to work and able to get to the gym by then! Until then I am resting my voice as much as I can, drinking plenty of water and trying to eat as healthy as I can since I'm not working out.

    Being sick and wanting to workout is the pits! I was just there myself, I was sick for 2 weeks - completely unable to workout! I hope you get well soon and can get back to the gym and school!!

    Yuck, I hate being sick, too! Thankfully, I've built up an immunity after all these years.

We're on winter break here in western MA. Hopefully the rest will kick some of the germs out. I went in yesterday and sanitized their desks. We've had two known cases of strep. I will go in Friday to sanitize door handles and computers.

    It's an occupational hazard!! I throw the windows open to exchange the air, give the kids Lysol or Chlorox wipes and have them wipe down their desks and tables and chairs, and spray the room liberally with Lysol spray when they're out at lunch. I've even been known to spray their bookbags and coats. Die, nasty germs, die!!

YOU need to get some rest. Keep those fluids up. Hot tea is lovely for a non working throat. Airbourne is good, soup is good! Hope you feel better soon!!

Weekend away (photos)

My first visit to see my new boyfriend (he has visited me once, then I went away. We will fly back and forth every second weekend). I had an amazing time and I didn't want to leave. 12 days until we are together again!!

Hello everyone. Well, maintenance has been uneventful so far. Up and down within a 1 kilo range and I expect that is to be expected. I don't know, I haven't done this before! I am keeping up with my 90/10 rule, where I eat healthy 90% of the time and don't beat myself over some Indian food for dinner (for example, not that I had any today....) I prefer fruit and veggies and lean meats over anything else anyway, so it is pretty easy. I'm also keeping up with my gym routine. I was asked the other day if I would quit the gym now that I'm at my goal weight. NO WAY! I love my gym and I love working out, so that's totally not happening. So I'm at the gym 4-5 days a week. My new relationship means that I am away, or have a visitor, every 2 weekends. This means that my workout timetable has changed to a 2 week cycle instead of being the same every week. Currently it looks like this

Week 1
M - Boxing
T - Weights
W - Boxing
T - Off/run
F - Weights
S - Run
S - Weights

Week 2
M - Boxing
T - Weights
W - Boxing
T - Weights
F - Off
S - Off
S - Off

Why the running? Coz, oh by the way, I signed up for Round the Bays. Its 8.5km and its in less than a month. Yep, I'm crazy. I'm fit, but not running fit, and I signed up on a whim because it was only $15 with a free tshirt through my gym. I'm a sucker for a free tshirt! Wish me luck!

Now on to the title of my blog post:

Compliments - A group fitness instructor came up to me today and said I was looking great and asked if I had lost weight. YAY!

Cookies - Today is valentines day, and one of my kids came to school today with cookies his mum had baked for me. There were 3, and they were little, so I ate them for morning tea. How sweet is that mum for thinking of me?
