2013 goals

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

Weight

- Get to 65kg then maintain
- Reduce my body fat %

Fitness

- Do a pull up. Iím nearly there!
- Run a 5k without stopping Ė signed up for one on the 26th of May
- Complete the 100 push up challenge
- Continue to attend boxing and boot camp classes, as well as strength training 2-3 times a week

Personal

- Have a ball on my trip next week
- Finish my second year of teaching and get my teachers registration
- Do more traveling, hopefully to the US again
- Decide if I want to move to the UK in 2014 (I was pretty sure about this, but now there is a man, and he is cute and sweet and amazing... I'll fill you all in if we decided to give things a go)

Financial

- Have all credit cards paid off
- Be financially able to move halfway around the world just in case I decide I want to.

2013 started off so well, I think it can only get better from here!

Love your goals! Don't pass up on the opportunity to move if you get one! I always wanted to but never could financially. Now that I'm settled down and married we can't do that until we retire!

December Recap and January goals

Monday, December 31, 2012

December recap

Lose 1.1kg, taking me to 70kg. This is a HUGE goal to have for December, and so close to my goal weight! I will try my best to meet it!

emoticon I hit 70kg on the 22nd of the month, even with a 2 day birthday blow out the previous week! Then I hit 69kg, my goal weight, 4 days later on the 26th. I have lost 2.1kg in December, my biggest monthly loss since January! Since the 26th I have bounced around and had a little water weight gain (eating out with my friend), but I am sure it will go back to normal in a day or 2.

Track 6 days a week. Keep to the lower end of my calorie range and try to hit the middle of my protein range.

emoticon I tracked most days (not my birthday dinners). I stayed within my calorie range most days, and I have started getting more protein.

Workout 5 days a week, minimum.

emoticon I worked out for an average of 5 days a week (some weeks 4, others 6). Iím calling that a success.

My 69kg picture

January goals

Weight
Maintain my weight loss. Since I am going to be on holiday for 3 weeks I am not expecting to lose, but I would like to maintain. I am planning on making good choices with the occasional splurge on one time only foods. For example, I wonít be eating a mars bar, because I can get those in NZ. If there is an area specialty that I couldnít get anywhere else, and I would like to try it, then I will.

Nutrition
I wonít be tracking on holiday, since I donít know what my internet access will be like. And, if I'm honest, I don't want to be spending time tracking while I'm on my once-in-a-lifetime-very-expensive trip.

Exercise
It will be business as usual until I leave on the 9th. After that I will be walking a lot, and I will be trying to do some quick ST once every 2 days (push ups, squats, lunges, planks, etc) space permitting. While exercise wonít be my main priority I will be taking every opportunity to be active. I hope to walk and bus everywhere, so I will be moving!

New years 2013 in pictures

Monday, December 31, 2012

My new years eve day was spent at the beach. We had to keep moving because the wind kept changing, but luckily the beaches were all within a few minutes drive of each other. 3 beaches, 2 swims, 1 order of fish and chips, and some sun bathing time (yes, mum, I used sun block!)

My new years night looked like this

It was a good night. Even got a kiss at midnight (probably why he looks so stunned in the photo...LOL!)

I met my goal weight!!!! BUT.... (pics)

Tuesday, December 25, 2012

This morning the scale said this

18.3kg lost! My goal was 18kg, so I had exceeded my target. It means I have lost over 20% of my original body weight!

And my face looked like this emoticon

I couldn't possibly be at my goal weight, could I? Not the day after Christmas! No... But the photo doesn't lie!

I look like this

To celebrate I got myself a charm for my bead bracelet. It is a dangly 18.

However, I am still not entirely happy with my body. Don't get me wrong, I am THRILLED that I have lost 18kg, and I look and feel so much better than I did. But I think I can lose a bit more, and I want to lose a bit more. I still have a bit of fat around my belly and thighs, so I need to lose a bit more weight to try and shift a little more of the fat. I have decided to set a new goal weight of 65kg. I won't be trying to lose while I am only my holiday (I will be thrilled to maintain!), so I am going to try and lose a little more before I go and then focus on losing the last 4kg when I get back.

A HUGE thank you to all my spark friends for your advice, support, and love during this journey. I couldn't have done it without you guys!

**Forgot to put the weight in pounds for the metrically challenged (said with affection!!). 18.3kg is 40 pounds**

I'm dreaming of a sunny Christmas, just like the ones I used to know!

Tuesday, December 25, 2012

Well the weather here has been terrible today! Wind and rain and stormy weather; Oh my! Christmas was pleasant. Santa was generous and I now have some extra spending money for my trip. Apparently if you ask nicely Santa gives in American dollars!

Here are a few photos of the day

Wearing my paper hat from my Christmas cracker

Mumma and Nana on the back deck

Our xmas table. Traditional dinner this year, with turkey, roast veggies, steamed vegges and yorkshire puddings. And gravy. Oh yeah! Not hard to eat well on xmas, it was all very healthy!

Until dessert. Brandy snaps. Be still my heart. I had 5. Good thing Christmas comes but once a year! There was also some pavlova... Oh boy I was so high on sugar.

Me with my grandad

Me with my Nana. My had just told a dirty joke, so I was looking more shocked than smiley!

Then we all crashed out like this. Most of us made it to a couch or a bed, though...

Hope your xmas was filled with good food, good company and lots of laughter!
