As part of winning member of the year I have been asked to write a testimonial about how I did it, to go in the gym's flyer and I think up on a wall. It needs to be short and sweet, but also convey my journey well. I could write pages, my blog is proof of that! Please tell me what you think!
My fitness journey
People ask me all the time why I decided to lose weight and the answer is simple: I was sick of being fat. I couldn’t wear what other girls my age could wear; instead I hid behind flowing tops and baggy jeans. I couldn’t walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded. I was sick of it! I set a new years resolution to get myself fit and healthy, and I have stuck to it. I completely overhauled my diet and started tracking what I was eating. I started exercising 2-4 times a week. I found that I really loved boxing and strength training, and I have stuck with them for my whole journey. I added in boot camps when I could as something new to give me variety, and a bit of a push. I found like minded people at the gym who support me and keep me accountable. I have lost over 17kg this year, and in the process gained fitness and confidence.
