Well, school ends on Tuesday. Where has the year gone?! My babies are all grown up; Most are moving to the senior school next year! I will have 2 in my class again, but the rest are off to bigger and better things
The last 2 days I am on baby sitting and crowd control. The kids will help me clean and organise the class, then some will go and help another teacher to clean and organise (she has to move rooms, I don't, and her kids are too young to help), and I will have her class for a movie. Movies and games will be a big part of the next 2 days. And then they leave, and I will probably be crying in my classroom for a while! Sad, but true. You get so, so attached to them!
I have big plans for the school break, as you all know. I will probably be posting some blogs that ask silly questions, so be prepared. Unless some kind soul who lives in/is familiar with my trip locations wants to offer to answer a sparkmail full of silly questions... Limited time offer, folks! Before I leave I have some Kiwi Summer activities planned! Climbing Rangitoto next week with my ex (we are seeing each other a lot. He is a better boyfriend now then he was when we were together, lol!), Action World with a friend this week, and Rainbows End and kayaking with my friend Luke who is visiting from Wellington at the end of the month! YAY!

It was my birthday on Friday. 24 years young. I dressed up like this
and headed out. First stop was my work xmas party. I spent an hour there chatting with workmates. Then I headed home, jumped into mum's car and headed to the restaurant to meet my girl friends.
It was a fun night filled with laughter, food, and a little too much wine (OK, I was a little, tiny bit... drunk). My birthday is the day for eating whatever I want. For dinner I ordered the carbonara. It was sinfully delicious, creamy and cheesy, and I enjoyed every bite. I actually ended up leaving 3/4 of it because it was so huge! I was going to eat whatever I wanted, but that didn't mean stuffing myself when I was full. In the end I am guessing I ate 500-600cal worth of it, which is actually not too bad. Dessert was a brownie with ice cream. It was gooood.
With birthdays come reflection. And I have decided to take charge of my life a bit more. There are heaps of things I want to do but never get around to because no one wants to do them with me. For example, I really want to climb Rangitoto Island. If no one wants to come with me then I can go by myself! And I will. I also want to go kayaking, and go back to Action World. If no one wants to come with me I will just go by myself. I'm spending a week alone in the states, so I should probably practice anyway!

As part of my gyms xmas party they had a Gladiator Challenge. Of course I signed up! It was heaps of fun. It was set out like this
- Mini boot camp (10 each push ups, sit ups, squats)
- Gladiator tunnel (trainers trying to stop yo getting through)
- Walk the plank
- Balance beam (WAY harder than I remember it)
- Shapes (trainer trying to block you with foam shapes. Had to do this with a ball between your knees)
- Box jump
- Guess who (match the trainer picture to their name)
- Tug of war
- Capture the flag
- Pull me (pulling someone on a little trolley)
I did it in 2m17s. I missed out winning the time trial by 2 seconds! That's it! Ah well, I had a ball doing it. Once everyone had gone through the trainers had a go, and us gym goers got to be gladiators! That was super fun!
That was all after a 90 minute boxing class where I did 12 full push ups! My arms hurt, lol.
After the gym I went home and had a birthday lunch with my folks and grandparents. We all chilled for a while and then my parents and I went out for dinner for my mum's birthday, which is today. I was sensible, I ordered a 'small plate' and a side salad, and stuck to water. I had 2 pieces of the bread from the bread plate, but they were small pieces. I think I did well!

Yep. That's me! My branch's member of the year!
I got the phone call today telling me that I had been nominated and the trainers had picked me as the winner! It made my day! So I need to write a little bit about my journey (I'll post it here for feedback) and then on Saturday at the Christmas party I will be presented with my framed certificate!
So...That's all, folks!
