Yesterday at school we had a snow day! Not real snow, of course. That would be silly. No, we had fake snow, made from compressed soapy liquid that was sprayed all over the bottom court. I don't have pictures, so you will just have to picture 200 children after a giant washing machine exploded. It was so, so much fun. There were TV cameras (we didn't make it on TV though) so the boss said we were to look like we were enjoying ourselves. I take my job very, very seriously, so of course I had heaps of fun! I had no choice! I was putting 'snow' in the kids hair, giving them sudsy high fives, and generally having a good time. I had the senior students putting suds all down my back and, since they were covered, trying to give me hugs so I would be covered too. The juniors kept rubbing 'snow' into my tummy, since they couldn't reach my hair to get me back! It was awesome, and the kids had a ball.
In other news, the kids all wrote letters to me today. They were instructed to write a letter about their year, what they learned, their favourite parts, etc. Only a few finished, but one girl wrote "I always hated maths and thought it was hard, but you made it understandable". Well I teared up right there in the computer suite! I need to add that to my CV! The others didn't want me to read theirs today (I think they want to give them to me on the last day) so I said I would print them out and they can turn them in later.
Today was prize giving. My babies got up and accepted their certificates for their achievements. I was so, so proud of them! The looks on their faces when they found out what their prize was for... Priceless. Another tearing up moment. I feel there will be a lot of those in my near future...
So I am having a busy eating out week
Thursday - Birthday dinner with my ex
Friday - Birthday dinner with my friends
Saturday - Birthday lunch with the grandparents AND mums birthday dinner (our birthdays are on consecutive days).
My birthday is a free day... anything I want to eat I am gonna eat. That birthday brownie is MINE. Other that that I am planning on sticking to my ranges and making sensible choices. Can't let one day derail the whole week!
Whew, you're all up to date!
