For the last few days I have been trying something new. I have been focusing on lowering my carbs. Now, relax, I'm not going low carb or anything. I have just been focusing on eating towards the lower end of my range (and occasionally just below) and trying to eat towards the middle of my range for my protein and fat.
I have found that I am fairly full, but other than that I haven't noticed any other changes. I do think it is a sensible experiment, so I will continue it for a little while. It has made me cut out a lot of junk food, because it is so high in carbs! There are plenty of carbs in my lower range to keep eating fruit, my morning cereal, lunchtime sandwich thin, and yogurt; the sensible carbs! I did try my first ever protein bar today. I picked up a couple to keep in my desk for nights where I have to stay behind later than expected. I liked it, it just tasted like a chocolate bar. Not the healthiest snck, I know, but better than other options. Good for an occasional emergency snack.
