I weighed my cat last night. She is a fatty, so I thought I'd check on her weight. She weighs 5.3kg, which is half of what I have lost. 5.3 x 2 = 10.6kg, my total weight lost this year.
So, I have lost 2 of these

I used to get weird holes in my jeans. They were in my upper thigh area, and it was clear from looking at them that they the material had just been rubbed (from my fatty thighs) so much that they just formed holes. Come on, I can't be the only one here who has had that problem... You know what I'm talking about! Anyways, I haven't noticed that happening in since I started losing weight. So, yay, NSV?
In jean related news, I need new ones. My 14's are getting waaaaay too big. BUT I still hate jean shopping. Even in the same brand different designs can be the same size (say, 12) but be different sizes. Last time I went jeans shopping and tried on 12's: 1 pair fit, 1 pair could barely do up, 1 pair wouldn't do up and 1 pair wouldn't go higher than my knees. Same brand, all size 12. It is frustrating, so I need to wait until I am in a good mood before I go. There should be some sales coming up soon, so I'll hopefully be able to go and get some new jeans then!
In measurement news, I remeasured myself the other night. I have lost nothing from my bust (YAY!!), 1cm from my hips, .5cm from my waist and 3-4 cm from each thigh! Go me. I wish I had taken measurements in the beginning, but better late than never!

The boyfriends car has been on its last legs for a while now. We have employed an ignore it and it will go away stance. We really didn't have the money for a new car, so that was our only option for a while. Unfortunately that stopped working. So, before his car stopped working, too, we decided to look for a new car. We had to use most of our house deposit to buy it, but he now has a car that won't die in the next few months.
Mannie is a silver Nissan Pulsar, which means it is reliable. It also won't need the belts changed (expensive) because it is chain driven and those last more or less forever. Mannie is also a manual transmission car. This means it will be more fuel efficient and easier and cheaper to fix.
It also means that my boyfriend and I are having to relearn how to drive a manual. The boyfriend has driven manual a few times in his early 20's, and until yesterday I hadn't driven a manual since I was 15. I DID learn to drive in a manual, but as a teenager I thought I had enough problems already, so I purchased an automatic so that I wouldn't have to deal with gear changes as well as boyfriends and pimples. However, since I did originally learn to drive in a manual it was a bit like riding a bike. I only stalled once, which I thought was awesome.
So we are both going to be spending the next week practicing our driving. It isn't my car (well, I co-own it) but since I drive the boyfriends car every few weeks for one reason or another, I need to be able to drive this new car.
Wish me luck!

In a good way. It is a 'oh, yeah, I lifted heavy yesterday' kinda hurt. I ended up increasing my weights through most of my program, and I'm glad I did!
Chest press - 9kg dumbbells to 10kg dumbbells
Head to toe - 3kg to 4kg
Smith machine pulls ups - 8th notch to 7th notch (The lower down the machine you are, the less leverage your body gives and the more work you have to do)
Butt blaster - 10kg to 12.5kg
Curls - 5kg to 6kg
While I was moving around the gym doing my program I had a trainers voice in my ear "women always underestimate how heavy they can lift". One of the trainers, Laura, said this to me when we were talking about weight lifting one day, and it has really stuck with me. I don't want to underestimate myself!
My gym is a YMCA, and every month they have challenges. One month it was how quickly could you complete a mini triathlon, another it was how many sit ups could you do in a minute. I have never done any of the challenges, but I have always checked them out. This months challenge is a deadlift challenge, and my trainer wants me to do it. He said that since I have only just started deadlifts I should work on increasing the weight as much as I safely can throughout the month, and on the 31st of July he wants me to do the challenge! So, I have a goal for July, and something to work towards with my weight lifting. I am pretty excited!
