My veggie filled dinner

Thursday, July 12, 2012

I super veggied my spaghetti bolagnaise! I used lamb mince which I rinsed under hot water after it was cooked to remove some of the fat. Then I made my own sauce using 2 cans of low salt tomatoes (one crushed, one chopped for texture). Each can has 5 servings of veggies, so that is 10 servings right there. Next I added in a diced, sauteed onion and 2 grated and sauteed zucchinis. All served over spiral pasta.

1 meal, 13 servings of veggies. Split 4 ways that is 3 servings of veggies per person. Pretty good if you ask me!

How much I have lost (pic)

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

I weighed my cat last night. She is a fatty, so I thought I'd check on her weight. She weighs 5.3kg, which is half of what I have lost. 5.3 x 2 = 10.6kg, my total weight lost this year.

So, I have lost 2 of these

Something I have noticed

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

I used to get weird holes in my jeans. They were in my upper thigh area, and it was clear from looking at them that they the material had just been rubbed (from my fatty thighs) so much that they just formed holes. Come on, I can't be the only one here who has had that problem... You know what I'm talking about! Anyways, I haven't noticed that happening in since I started losing weight. So, yay, NSV?

In jean related news, I need new ones. My 14's are getting waaaaay too big. BUT I still hate jean shopping. Even in the same brand different designs can be the same size (say, 12) but be different sizes. Last time I went jeans shopping and tried on 12's: 1 pair fit, 1 pair could barely do up, 1 pair wouldn't do up and 1 pair wouldn't go higher than my knees. Same brand, all size 12. It is frustrating, so I need to wait until I am in a good mood before I go. There should be some sales coming up soon, so I'll hopefully be able to go and get some new jeans then!

In measurement news, I remeasured myself the other night. I have lost nothing from my bust (YAY!!), 1cm from my hips, .5cm from my waist and 3-4 cm from each thigh! Go me. I wish I had taken measurements in the beginning, but better late than never!

I feel the jeans shopping coming up in my future soon. Right now I have 22, 20, 1 pair of 18s and a couple of pairs of 14s. I think I'll need 16s soon~!

It's TOTALLY not just you. Any time I've worn out a pair of pants, it's NOt because of the knees, it's that inner thigh thing, and they get holes and start tearing up the backside!

I also hate trying on jeans. It's frustrating to grab four of the SAME SIZE pants and have them fit so differently! I did that recently when I was trying on workout pants at Old Navy. Larges, most of them, since most of my yoga pants these days are large. One I couldn't even get over my thighs. The other was so loose it didn't fit.

It's like... can't we agree on some standardization? You manage it for the men. I mean, it's not hard. 32 inch pants should be 32 inches!

    Hooray for needing new jeans!

I'm with you on having rubbed holes in the inner thigh of my jeans AND on hating to shop for jeans. I'd definitely have to be in a very good mood to go shopping for jeans...and hope the jeans shopping wouldn't ruin said good mood! LOL

Congrats all on of your NSV's!! I understand the thigh issue too. I wear slacks to work and the material kind of "balls" up between my thighs. The worst fat moment I had related to this was a couple of summers ago when I went to Las Vegas. I had never worn shorts that many days in a row and done that much walking... The chaffing was so bad it scabbed over!! emoticon

Just remember when you go get your new jeans... What the tag says doesn't matter - it is clear that you have lost weight!! **And you can always cut the tag out so you "forget" what size they are!!!**

I had the same thigh problem (and no, we're not the only ones!!).

I know what you mean about shopping for jeans; definitely need a good mood before dealing with that extra frustration!

Congrats on the NSV!!!

I always bring at least 2 sizes (sometimes 3) of every pair of jeans I like into the fitting room... it's ridiculous! I do that with all pants though.

Congrats on measurements! My thighs won't get smaller until everywhere else on me has gone down first. :(

On Sunday I got 2 pr jeans (the first I have bought in about 20 years) from Jeanswest. They were on special - 2 for $109. They are the "Slim Straight Tummy Trimmer" ones - size 16 BUT I not NOT that big - their sizing seems quite different from the usual 'cause I am a 12-14. ANYway, they look real good on and are slimming, in part because it shows off my very slim legs (they always have been even when the rest was fat - LOL) My son bought them for me for my birthday (March) and he is a member of their loyalty program. It goes toward his points, but because they were already on special he couldn't get an additional discount on them. Worth thinking about for you.

Anyway, your theory about FAT thighs causing that damage, it isn't the fat thighs that do it - I've noticed this on lots of skinny legged people too. When you think about it, when you are sitting you are more likely to rub your hands on your thighs, you put things in your lap etc. etc. I am more inclined to think along MY lines for that damage!

emoticon Those are all great NSV's! YAY! I hate jeans shopping too, but when you find the right pair that looks great don't worry about what size it is. If you feel ROCKING in them, don't pay attention to the tag!

Breakdown

Monday, July 09, 2012

So we were driving today and my boyfriends car broke down. The clutch went. Since we have had it 3 days the dealer is fixing it (but not paying for the tow truck). It broke down on a motorway overpass and we had to call the police to push us off and into a nearby car park.

I ate fast food 3 times today. I treated myself to a BLT bagel from McDonalds on my way to school this morning (I do this once every few weeks). Then the boyfriend brought me Subway to my classroom. It was a 6 inch with roast chicken, so not too bad. Then the boyfriends car broke down and we were stranded. No one was answering their phones, so we were stuck until the tow truck came. It was nearly 5pm, we were hungry and we were right by a McDonalds. You can see where this is going. I had a chicken burger, half a medium fries and a sprite zero.

I missed my boxing class because by the time the tow track came (and we finally go a hold of someone to pick me up and take me to my house to get my car) it was too late to get to either class.

So, I'm tired and annoyed tonight. And bloated. Stupid sodium.

I'll leave you with my Olympic wall for my classroom. I put it up today. Around the edges are vocab and fact cards about the Olympics.

I don't believe in jinxing. The clutch would have been faulty before we got it, and this would have happened no matter what I said...

Keeping it to 1600 was a good job by you. And you know what to do with the sodium bloat. All in all, nice job handling a pretty challenging day.

As far as the car...think you might have jinxed yourself with the language in your previous blog. Pretty crappy that the dealer won't pick up the tow charge when one of their products fail within three days of the sale...here's to the car behaving now...and until, say, 2015 without further issues, it owes you guys one!
