snacking dilemma

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

UGH so the fridge at home is now broken and we are not getting a new one till tomorrow, so some of the foods that are starting to go we have been forced to eat. basically it has come down to "oh no, we need to finish the bacon. ok, what harm is one more piece" a lot of the times it seems like snacking here or there isnt going to affect anything, but now im mad with myself because i know better. i try only to snack when i am actually hungry and to choose the healthier option. i just get really bad cravings sometimes like i gotta have a cookie now kind of feeling. this has given me a great idea for a saying: so how we can track measurements here on sparkpeople, the saying goes "track before you snack" (like "look before you leap") haha i should tape this to my mirror or something emoticon

That is an excellent idea.. track before you snack. I will keep reminding myself of that as well!

IM BACK!

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

ok, so probably has been close to a year since i have been on here. I did really well last year, but then finals, holidays, and work crept up on me and everything went downhill from there. I have gained the weight back, so this time my goal is to get it off again, and for good! This morning i was planning on having a biscuit smothered with butter and jam, which is really scrumptious, but i resisted temptation! I am also planning on heading to the gym right after class so i can get back into my routine. I am going to be smart about this and not set exact short term goals, but long ones (with some short ones). i feel like i tried to lose the weight really fast last time so i pushed myself, then when it came off and i got busy i felt less urgency to maintain the healthy life style. So this time i am setting my long term goal for 8 months from now, so that i will have achieved my goal weight by next summer. Then its good bye jeans hello shorts! emoticon

That sounds like a smart move and you are coming back full of wisdom. Yes, it is about a lifestyle - we all need to keep drumming that into us emoticon It is a journey and SP is the first step - glad you are back ! emoticon

Measuring Mistake or too Good to be True???

Friday, September 21, 2012

ok so im not sure on this but a few days ago i measured my upper thigh and it was 32 or 37 inches (cant remember which). Then last night i saw that my legs were getting slimmer so i thought okay ill measure again. i expected to see a small difference, instead what i got was 23 inches!!! still can't believe if that is right though, but im positive that i measured right both times. Half of me is super happy and the other half thinks this is too good to be true. Oh well, either way i wore these jeans today that i couldn't fit into before and they feel awesome on me so I guess i'll stop worrying about it!

WOW!!! That does sound too good to be true!! How many days apart were those measurements?? AND, what are you eating and what kind of exercising are you doing?? I sure hope that it's a good measure... enjoy the knowledge that you're doing well!!

Cinnamon Roll Dreams

Thursday, September 20, 2012

Yesterday i kept day dreaming the whole day about the cinnamon rolls that were in my fridge. My family loves to torture me by getting all this good stuff even when i say im on a diet. I decided that i wasn't going to have one but then i had a rough day and was feeling lousy and was going to give in. I get home a little after 9pm, so i have a late dinner then i opened the fridge and saw them. Somehow i managed to close the door and walk away! Sweet tooth, you control me NO longer!!!!! finally gaining some will power :)

Dreaded Bikini Bet

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

So my whole motivation to get fit came from this bet i made with one of my friends. In 10 weeks, I with my family, and a couple of friends (including the one i made a bet with) will be going on a cruise (im not rich by the way, a family member is paying). anyway i somehow ended up making a bet with this friend that i could look good in a bikini by then. That was 3 months ago...and I just started working out last week. WOOHOOO for procrastination!

So yeah......ive got 10 weeks (actually it will be 9 in a couple days) to lose weight and get toned! I already lost 5 pounds the first week and my goal is to lose 25! I also started to notice my legs becoming firmer too, which i LOVE because i have horribly flabby thighs. they have been my curse in this world of short shorts. my stomach has gotten flatter too! so even after such a small amount of time I am already getting really excited and hopeful :D

Time is still short though so wish me luck and cross your fingers!

You don't have to be rich to go on a cruise. I've seen some 5 day cruises for under $200 which is a lot less than what flying pretty much anywhere roundtrip costs

Good luck. 9 weeks is enough time to accomplish looking good in a bikini especially if you don't actually have much to lose
