Back on track tomorrow...

Feeling pumped after yesterday, today was a complete 180 from that. I didn't sleep well last night, maybe I was overtired. Alarm went off way too early! My eating was pretty good during the day and I certainly got enough steps in being back at work. But then 3 o'clock hit...and I was wiped out. And hungry. So I made some bad choices for dinner. And since I'm so tired and also a little sore, I decided not to work out tonight.
But...I am already prepared to jump back on tomorrow with my eating and my fitness. Today will just be a bump in the road, not a detour!

Good choices today!

I had several opportunities to make choices today and I've been really proud of myself for what I've done!
1. I ate breakfast at home (cereal) instead of buying a breakfast sandwich at QT.
2. My work had breakfast and I only picked up fruit, which I saved for later!
3. At lunch, I had grilled chicken and a salad.
4. I had fruit as a snack after work.
5. For dinner, I had a hamburger (no cheese!) and made veggies as my side.
6. After my son went to bed, I worked out with the Wii Fit for 40 minutes.

Now I'm drinking my water and watching a TV show, after which I'm going to shower and head to bed!

Also, I have leftovers (hamburger and veggies) for lunch tomorrow!

Yay me!

New year excitement!

So I just did the Wii Fit workout again...that makes three out of the last four days! And now I don't feel so guilty about being on the computer, because I feel like I've earned it! I also just ate a healthy snack of an apple with some peanut butter on it, and it was delicious!

I am a little worried, because I've done all this stuff while being off work. I go back on Tuesday and I'm not sure how that will affect my resolve. I know I'll be active while at work, because the school I work in is laid out with things v-e-r-y far apart. I take the stairs there several times a day and walk the full length of the building at least twice a day. My concern is that I will be too tired to workout in the evening after my son has gone to bed.

I'm also concerned that I will fall into my same-old routine of "there's nothing here for dinner, so let's just get fast food". I'm working on planning meals ahead so I know what I'm making before I even start my day, but it's slow going so far.

But I'm also trying to keep my stress level down, so for now my motto is "don't borrow trouble"~ meaning let tomorrow take care of itself, just make it through today. I'm really psyched about the choices I've made so far and I'm hoping and praying for the strength to keep going!



The last day...

The last day of 2011. Time to think about the past year, what went right, what went wrong, how to improve, or stay on track. Time to make resolutions that, unfortunately, I have never been able to stick to or even remember by the end of January.

But 2012? I have a feeling this will be my year. I feel like this year I have the tools, I have the resources, and I have the support to really stick to it. I've joined a group of friends in a friendly, "Biggest Loser" type competition and I've joined another group for the moral support and we already have a 5k planned! I'm really excited about these things and I can't wait to get started!

The last day of 2011? Funny how it feels more like a beginning...
