Taking Back Control!

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

I had a great weigh in this morning!! OUTTA THE 140's!!!!!!!! HURRAY!!!!
emoticon
Usually good weigh ins help me to stay motivated and eat healthily and in moderation (my biggest downfall). However, breaking out of the 140's made me feel great but at the same time something in my mind clicked like, "Well, you've worked so hard and now you're in the 130's, go ahead, reward yourself" I guess this is called the 'devil on my shoulder'... emoticon
well shucks, until this time I'd ALWAYS give into this nasty little thought and break back into the 140's.
NOT THIS TIME!! YAY!!! I had a great breakfast of Raisin Bran (suggested serving size), All Bran Bran Buds (suggested serving size), skim milk (suggested serving size YAY it's hard because I love my cereal with TONNES of milk usually), some cinnamon and 1/2 a grated apple.. NOM NOM NOM!! emoticon
The rest of the day was uneventful food wise and then came dinner... OY!!! So hard to eat in moderation at dinner for me!! For some reason my brain goes "what if you die in your sleep, EAT and enjoy!" It's strange.. hope I'm not the only one who has problems in the evening.
ANYWAYS I made a broccoli, cheese, rice and ham bake. It was good but not as cheesy as I like (on purpose!) lol. Guess what, I only had 1 serving!! YAY!!!!! So proud!!! I can never say no to seconds!!! For dessert I had a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich. NummM!!!
I've been reading about how if you do something consistantly for 21 days it becomes a habit. Well, ladies and gents, today was my Day 1 of eating only ONE serving at dinner and taking back the control and power to say NO to seconds!!!
emoticon So here's to TAKING BACK THE CONTROL!!!
Hurrah!! I'm feeling great and much more confident!!!
So, progress is being made!! I'm putting in the work and reaping the rewards. Who would have thought that something as silly as saying no to seconds for one evening to could mean SO much to a person. Well, I guess I'm silly then, because I'm very proud!!!
Sorry to probably bore you all but THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT!
emoticon

PS I just noticed, I used to get really upset if I missed anything from one of my TV shows like missing a scene or even a phrase (imagine what happened when I missed an episode). Meanwhile, my diet and health were taking a backseat. I came delighted to report that I miss my shows just about every week now, at least 1/2 of them and I don't even care hardly, I am so busy preparing healthy meals and planning when I can fit exercise into my life that I don't really need the TV drama to make my life exciting anymore.
Baby steps right? lol

Good for you to saying no to seconds! You are doing such a great job Brooke-you should be very proud of yourself! I know I'm proud of you:)

Funny-I'm the same way now-I used to be addicted to the tv. I'd plan my whole week around my tv shows. Now I barely watch it. And of course for me, tv watching and eating went hand in hand. So I'm definitely saving calories as well.

Hope you have a wonderful day girl-

Julie

To Plan or Not To Plan..? PLAN IT IS!!! :)

Thursday, March 25, 2010

So I'm a planner and like to make mini-goals and PLAN!! hehe
I am really going to buckle down for April to slim down and lean out for our cruise and bikini season!!!!!!
emoticon
My plan is as follows:
M,W,F: 8-11km runs with my bebe in a jogging stroller & puppy along side to protect me from neighbour dogs and strange people lol
T,R: 5km runs again with "the crew"
Weekends: Try to go for an hours walk with DH & the rest of the crew. emoticon
***I want to do the get up, get naked and get crunchin' idea/challenge for the month of April to get some abs rockin' emoticon

Eating wise, just 'trim' the naughtiness out as much as possible but otherwise, keep doing what I've been doing, it's working!!!!!! emoticon

So here it goes...

CW 03/24/10: 140.6

03/27/10: GW: 139.0 WI:
04/03/10: GW: 137.0 WI:
04/10/10: GW: 135.0 WI:
04/17/10: GW: 133.0 WI:
04/24/10: GW: 131.0 WI:
05/1/10: GW: 129.0 WI:

Soooo 2lbs a week is doable but I really gotta kick my own butt and get out there and make it happen!!!
emoticon

My goals in general are as follows:
Drink my 8 cups of water everyday emoticon
Burn 3500 cals a week emoticon
Eat right and encourage my DH to join in on the health kick!!

Wish me luck please!!! Might need to have some serious support from you guys, more than usual!!! lol

Davey's Birthday Cake Photos!!

Sunday, March 21, 2010

It was Davey's 1st Birthday today!!! Hurray!!! Hehe. I made him rainbow cupcakes :)
Thought I'd post some photos and share!!!!!
These were the cupcakes after some trimming because they were a little overfilled at first and blew out the sides lol!!

And a side view....

Davey got his own cupcake... I didn't want to give him a whole CAKE to himself because it's a waste, a sugar overload and what a mess would ensue!!!!!! hahaha (Despite my mother-in-laws protests that I DIDN'T give him a whole cake...)

Here were the rest of the cupcakes :)

I'm proud to say, I ONLY ATE ONE!!! Made sure everyone else got one and gave the rest to some of Davey's little friends.. Hehe.

Great day!!!!
A photo to round it all off.. me and my baby boy!!!

He looooves his present!

How cute! I love that pic of you with your son. My son will be 19 on Friday-seems like just yesterday we were celebrating his first. Enjoy that little guy everyday-in the blink of an eye he'll be a teenager.

The cupcakes look so yummy-making me hungry:)

Lots of exciting things in the near future!!

Friday, March 19, 2010

SO!!!!
There are many exciting things in the VERY near future!!! HURRAY!!!!
Let's begin!

Tomorrow: WEIGH IN!!!! Being positive!!! I am crossing my fingeys that I'm gunna rock this one

Saturday: MY BABY'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!!!! emoticon Making RAINBOW cupcakes so that it's secretly portion control for MOMMY! LOL I can't say no to supermoist cake so I figure, make cupcakes. Allow for one when people are there, one for when everyone's gone and MAKE people take them home with them if there's leftovers.
emoticon
Sunday: Last hockey practice.. going to see if I can make it... HOPEFULLY!
MONDAY!!!! Start of a new week, hopefully breaking into the 130's!!!!!!!!! EIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time to up the workouts~!! However... my achillies is still inflamed and not getting better so I am caught in a catch 22 situation.. Rest and let it heal BUT not workout OR just keep truckin and see what happens...
HELP!?!?!?!

All of this sounds amazing! As for the injury, I have a foot injury myself, so I feel you. As I know the problems with working out on an injury, I'm not doing the hardcore cardio that I like, but! There are tons of exercises you can be doing with an exercise ball and weights (or water bottles!) that get in a workout without injurying the foot farther. Who says you have to stop working out?! Just change it up a little and protect the foot so it can get better. Those are my two cents haha. Have a great one! Love the cupcake idea... I'm actually a cupcake lover, I for some odd reason, can't stand cake... I'm weird... haha.
