Back in Da Groove!

So the last couple days I just havent been myself.

Sunday, I was in pain most of the day. emoticon It was allergy stuff - headaches, earaches, sinus pain. Im a big baby emoticon when it comes to pain so I was cranky and grumpy all day.

Monday came and I knew I had to get back in the swing of cardio again. emoticon I did 30mins yesterday but my heart emoticon just wasnt in it. I did it cuz I knew I had to.

Today has been a completely different situation! The kids were playing nice - ok, as nice as possible! they are 2 and 4 - so I decided to hop on the elliptical for 30mins to get in my cardio. Usually I wait til my toddler naps on the way home from taking my daughter to school at noon, but Im getting so much better at allowing myself to improvise. emoticon The old me used to be strict and all or nothing. I wanted to workout at X time every day and if I didnt get to or it was a few mins past, I wouldnt workout at all that day. Ive given up on that thinking! Life is ever changing and in order to get in my workouts I gotta go with the flow of the day/week/month. emoticon

I even did a different 'program' on the elliptical. I usually just adjust the resistance to increase the intensity during my workout but this time I used a program of hills. It was a countdown of 30mins and it adjusted the resistance to simulate hills. OMG it was a butt-kicker! To put it in perspective, I have been workin on 4 as my highest resistance and this program went all the way up to 8! I was pourin sweat! emoticon But I loved it! The adrenaline rush was emoticon

    Interval training (like hills) is the best way to burn mega-calories and stoke your metabolism!.

UPDATE : What to do today . . .

So I got in 45mins of cardio on the elliptical! emoticon Got a shower in and def gotta go grocery shopping. Still contemplating Sea World - Hubby wants to sleep til 5pm.

Maybe . . . get grocery shopping done, lunch, and THEN head to the park w the kids???!! We will see where the wind takes us! emoticon

What to do today . . .

So the lil ones want to go to Sea World today (yes, we can just up and go cuz we have annual passes), but Im not so sure its the best idea. It takes a good amt of gas that Hubby can use driving to Disney (work). Not to mention the 30 to 45min drive there and back. And then u gotta plan in there, somewhere, my toddlers mid-day nap. Altho I was thinkin if we head home around 1pm they will both certainly fall asleep on the way home. Realistically we could be on the road around 10am (maybe 9am if I REALLY push em) but that would give us from 11a to 1pm. Maybe catch a show and then ride the kiddie rides. So I guess the big question is . . . Is almost a quarter tank of gas WORTH 2 to 3 hrs at Sea World w my babies???!!! Daddy worked last night so he will be home around 8, asleep by 930am. My oldest (shes 4) asked abt Daddy going but he just cant. Altho . . . hes off work tomorrow night. Maybe we can go Sunday afternoon instead.

Other options are the local park OR the inside play area at the mall. Both closer and still fun. I just enjoy using our passes at the big amusement parks as much as possible - especially in the gorgeous weather we are suppose to have today. Not to mention I find peace at Sea World. I feel so in my element around all the marine animals. Its amazing!

Crunch time . . . again

So its Friday and I still have 65mins left to reach my weekly fitness mins goal. emoticon EEEEK! I know I skipped out Tuesday. Just flat out didnt feel like wokin out. Did well Mon, Wednes, and Thurs - 45min each day. Today I was so busy during the time that I usually workout and this evening was filled with spending time with my hubby and kids.

So heres the plan - divide and conquer! Its the weekend so theres no school time to split up the day. Tomorrow morning I will get in 30mins before 11am. Preferably while the kids are 'playing nice' together. Then again, when the toddler goes down for his nap around noon, 1pm I will do the remaining 35mins.

As always, schedule subject to change but I AM GOING to get in the last 65mins tomorrow!!!!

Its Not Official But . . .

Im down another 1.5lbs! I weighed this morning, as I always do, and noticed the scale was at 236 instead of the 237.5 it was 3 days ago. Awesome news considering TOM is still hangin out. Im twds the end of the visit so Im sure the water weight has come and gone.

But u kno what? These last 2 months Ive noticed that I havent fluctuated much during TOMs visit like I used to. In the past, Id fluctuate anywhere from 3 to 7lbs during the 7, 8 days long visit. Talk abt depressing! But these last 2 months, when I have kept up with my weekly fitness goals and water intake thru out the month and esp during TOMs visit, I havent noticed much of a fluctuation at all. I have even still managed to keep the weight coming off.

Slowly, but still losing!

So I guess the moral of the story is - I no longer have an excuse to gain 3 to 7lbs during TOMs visit. I know with keeping my healthy lifestyle I can keep those extra pounds at bay.

We learn something new abt ourselves each day!!!

    i've also found that when i'm active and getting in all my water, my weight fluctuates a lot less during that time of the month. and i tend to feel a little better too! glad you're exceeding your goals!
