Just settled in my hotel suite!

Sunday, March 27, 2011

I travelled to Ottawa today where I'll be staying for the next 2 months. I'm really proud of myself because as soon as I finished settling in my hotel suite, I sat down to plan my menu for the next month according to the SP guidelines, wrote my shopping list and went food shopping right away. I had the food delivered and meanwhile went training 45 minutes at the downtown YMCA which is 3 blocks away from my hotel!

I've already prepared my exercise material and clothing for tomorrow morning so that 1st thing (actually 2nd after my coffee so I'm awake LOL ) I do when I get up is exercise for 30 minutes. My lunch, dinner and 2 snacks for tomorrow are ready for tomorrow ( I work 12 hours a day starting at 11:00 a,m until 11:00 p.m.). That will be my basic routine for 6 days a week, on my day off it'll be washing and food shopping and a YMCA workout.

Thanks for keeping in touch and for the lovely messages you keep sending me. I read them all and it motivates me to improve myself physically as well as mentally and emotionally. Take care and have a great time doing it !

It's always a challenge to stick to your routine when you are experiencing a change. I find it a bit easier if I only focus on one thing that I think I can stick to and then start incorporating the rest of my weight loss habits slowly back in.

First 2011 Entry!

Saturday, February 26, 2011

Hello to all my SP friends! emoticon

After a rough end of the year 2010 when my father-in-law died of cancer, one daughter was diagnosed as severely depressed and I was myself feeling quite down with other personal issues, I stopped exercising and tracking daily on SP and gained back 10 of the 25 lbs I had lost during in 2010 emoticon

I'm feeling much better now and am ready to get back into my SP groove. I'm aiming to lose 5 lbs at a time until I reach my final goal of 5o lbs, slowly but surely is my game right now emoticon

Thanks to my SP friends who kept in touch with me during that difficult period. It really helped me getting over it faster than on my own .. emoticon Love you guys

    Hi BRIGETTI20;

I have stopped by to see how you are doing as you are one of my Spark friends. I was going to answer your blog but I would rather tell you how well you are doing. I am sorry you have the medical problems that set you behind but I hope with the healthy eating , routine exercises some of those problems will go away. You will find your balance in health versus medical and be able to continue on with a healthy life. Stay strong and go after your dream. May God bless you and keep you.

Love and fireworks

Sunday, July 04, 2010

Yesterday was my 34th wedding anniversary and my husband continues to surprise me every year on this date by finding a great place to eat and a special surprise to follow... emoticon

I'm the romantic one in our couple and will write him love notes throughout the year, surprise him with a candlelit supper for two and just a kiss and cuddle after a hard day at work. He's an engineer and an accountant as well so love words are far in between but his actions speak louder of his love for me than his words. He'll be there when I'm feeling down on myself and is always supportive at whatever I'm committing myself to, a new job, losing weight or raising a large family of 6 girls. And after so many years I'm still looking forward to see and be with him every day of my life... emoticon Married love can be enduring but just like weight loss it needs tracking every day and making a priority in your life for lasting results!

We were married on July 3rd 1976 in Montreal, Canada. The same year the summer Olympics were held for the first time in our French speaking province of Quebec! What a great omen it has been! And nowadays this date falls right in the Montreal's International Jazz Festival so last night after a great meal (I managed to stick to my meal plan with a celebratory Lychee Martini and a glass of white wine to celebrate!) in the old port, we walked to the Jazz festival and listened to an outdoor show for one hour then walked back to watch the fireworks by the piers. For the past few years, Montreal has also been hosting an international fireworks competition from June to August so that a different country performs every Saturday night by the St-Lawrence River. This year we were lucky enough that our anniversary fell on a Saturday so we had our own fireworks to celebrate those 34 wonderful years together! emoticon

I feel blessed meeting my husband when I was a teenager eager to learn English and his sister's school and mine participated in a school exchange between France and England. And when my family emigrated to Canada, he followed me there and now after all this time we would do it all over again! Now that's romantic, isn't it?

Ian & I on our 34th wedding anniversary, July 3rd, 2010

Just before leaving our home for our special evening!

A glimpse of the fireworks but you can watch a few minutes of them on my first vlog titled " Love and fireworks!" ...

Thanks for reading this blog and I wish you to know all the beauty and love the world can hold! emoticon
