Learning as I go..Sunday, October 31, 2010News at 11..lol..yep, the definite correllary between exercise and blood sugar is rapidly becoming apparent.. yesterday was not a good food or water day. I was at the National Mall for the Jon Stewart Rally and healthy choices were hard to come by in the press of many thousands of bodies. Came home starved and ate a moderate amt. of fries, and hot dogs, and veggies and had some wine, and ack! However, my exercise was downright stellar, and I logged miles on foot at brisk paces all over DC, and my FBS was exactly where it's supposed to be this morning! Which does not mean that it's cool to disregard my dietary rules, or at least not often..but that exercise does play a huge role in keeping things controlled. Yay! ![]()

I see that correlation with exercise and my reading. It is so important to us to get off the couch and move, move, move! And test, test test as well!

That's right - It is only when we make this a habit that workouts just won't cut the mustard. You did very welll!!!!! Report Inappropriate Comment |

New nutritional guidelines received, new things to understand, adjust to, and make part of my daily life. 1300 cal limit, 147gm. carbs a day, spaced through three meals and two snacks, daily exercise, not three times a week, and the beat goes on. I need to lose 13 lbs. I need to take my blood sugar at least twice a day..fasting, and again 2 hours after a meal. Part of me is angry..I already ate healthy. Larger portions than I should probably, but healthy choices. I already exercised regularly. My wt. is higher than it should be, yes..but not even by 20 lbs. I thought I was doing well. Now I have a sharp lesson that I need to do better. One can die of diabetes..but one can also live with it..and hopefully well.

Your last statement says it all. I vote for living well despite having diabetes. It is frustrating when you are already eating right and exercising, yet it isn't enough. Good luck with your new plan and let us know how you are doing. Report Inappropriate Comment |
